I adore this video, such a stunning display of decorations and food. The atmosphere must of been fantastic, pure artistry. Thank you so much for uploading :-)
Fair enough. Here in Nairobi, Kenya, the moment I lay my hands on $185, I'll hurry out of town. Go for the neck of two prime, whole, live goats, two sacks of potatoes and a few crates of beer. Then I'll proceed to summon a bunch of friends for a feast that will reverberate and trend for months on end.
Growing up in New Orleans, we joked that on Sundays we worship at the altar of the chafing dish. Sunday brunch was a ritual not to be missed. This looks wonderful. Veal cheek, oh my.
I honestly don't think this is overpriced. In fact, I think the price is oddly low, considering the enormous selection and the need for many professionals too cook the food, the massive kitchen(s?), along with decent staff to maintain the room and to host. I'm a New Yorker, and when I'm feeling decadent, I pay $120 for dinner, and can choose only a couple different foods. Here, the selection is endless. Still, I'm a little perplexed as to why they require such a huge selection - I mean, who really wants to go to brunch to have kona coffee-encrusted venison or some kind of cheek? Do the odder things really get esten?
There are all kinds of folk who eat all kinds of food...hence the wide variety. Appreciate your approval of the buffet. I also like your detailed analysis a lot. Merry Christmas, T Griffin :)
Wow so many types of wonderful food. I can't imagine I'd be able to eat 200$ worth of food. I wouldn't even get to taste half of it unless I stayed till dinner haha ;) beautiful none the less
soraninja, hi there :) Yep, all that wonderful food yet we couldn't even eat it all. How ambitious of you to wish to taste half - be sure to bring a film crew if you want to try it haha. We did spend 2 1/2 hrs there and barely touched a third, I think. I should have fasted the day before, or stayed till dinner just like you suggest :-) Love you comment. Take care!
Looks amazing. Beautiful to the eye and delicious. Maybe in another life. In this life could not afford. Lovely none the less. We have a Ritz Carlton in Cleveland i love in youngstown. Nice to dream . Corinne
In the mid 90s, I can remember seeing similar food at a moderately snooty (very moderate) hotel, the UN Plaza, on 30-39 floor of the Dinkeloo buildings on 1st Avenue in NY. The Sunday brunch looked almost identical to this, and for $36. At the time, I had plenty of money, but as soon as I looked at the feast on display, my stomach shrunk to that of a child. I couldn't imagine spending $36 for the privilege of eating $8 worth of food. The same would happen to me now if I were to go to this place. A total waste on me.
In Canada, it would be very difficult, if not impossible to find such a buffet of high quality food. The price is beyond cheap, considering the fact your average steak house dinner starts at least $50, not including potatoes & desert.
A B, thank you! Glad you like it. Hope you'll get to check that off the list :-) My favorites: desserts & meats come first, then the fun stuff that I haven't tried before. Of course, a huge bowl of salad the previous night helps me to indulge in all that without feeling guilty haha. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Take care :)
HAVE You tried the Brunch at the Ritz Carlton IN PARIS? There's no videos on it. We're going to Paris this June and husband wants to take us there for Brunch but not sure if its worth it.
Hi there love bags :) The Ritz-Carlton brand doesn't have a hotel in Paris. There is a Ritz-Paris but they aren't affiliated with the Ritz-Carlton brand. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks Alexis. I never knew that lol. If you do dine at the Ritz Paris Brunch please don't forget to post video. I don't think I want to go there because we eat like a pig haha it would be embarrassing to pile our plates with foods like Vegas lolz.
Didn't get the chance to visit Ritz Paris this year... maybe next time, I hope :) Haha no worries about piling up your plates I do it all the times, in Vegas and beyond...just looking out for a good time!! Have a terrific trip in Paris!
I love the Ritz but have never had the buffet. I'm not a buffet persson Everything looked very good. Maybe in the future if buffets are still offered I will try.
It's so good! We'll just have to wait till all this blows over for you to try it, yes? :) Glad you come here to escape. Good to see you...stay well SuperMoeLarryCurly! (haha your name always makes me smile!)
My mother lives in Half Moon Bay and we always go here for brunch. The holiday buffets are excellent if you are not having guests for Thanksgiving Xmas or Easter. Beautiful view and you can walk it all off along with cliffs.
Does anyone know if the Ritz is still doing Buffet's like this for Christmas? We are heading to NYC for Christmas and are looking for somewhere to spend Christmas lunch. I have checked their website but found nothing.
This is a beautiful video! Thank you for making it! It’s an experience that most of us will never have in our lifetime so thank you for letting us experience it thru you!! 💙💚💛💜💖
Hi there, Judy :) Glad you enjoy it. I'm flattered and thank you so much for your kind words. Happy to share. Here's to our little escape and explore :-)
Goodness me alexis sooooo much food, just a huge plate of best smoked salmon for me with slices of lemon and a tartare sauce, fantastic.... Hope You're well Paula in the uk. X
TheBagBalm, hi there! You sure hit the nail on the head about the experience. The food, though, it's convenient that they have it all in one place. Unless you want to go to different places and that's fun too for the sake of variety :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Harry :) Check out "Harvest" in Bellagio. It has wonderful locally grown produce, some right there on the hotel roof. A bit pricey as it's still a new restaurant - and the best, in my opinion. But you might like it, too! Good luck, enjoy yourself! Take care :)
I don't know...if I did not know it was the Ritz Carlton...it could just as well be a Hyatt or Marriott. I guess I expected something really over the top
I’d want a slice of each flavor of Buche de Noel 😋 After watching several of your videos, I sense that you too have a sweet tooth - woman after my own heart! Lol
I've eaten at the Ritz several times while enjoying a spa day with my Mom and also enjoyed their afternoon Tea (outstanding). HOWEVER..$185????? Unless they throw in a bottle of Dom for you to enjoy there or at home, as well as throwing in a couple of Filet Mignons, Maryland Blue Crabs, or Salmon to take home, I don't see where a buffet is worth that much.
The price seems okay epically for a brunch buffet I think its worth it. I usually spend 200+ for a meal for two when I take out my SO for dinner once a month. I might have to check this out
Thank you for sharing this . Due to finances,I have not been on a real vacation in 30 years .God. Know I would love to go there or on a luxury cruise !
Food as a spectacle C'est Bon.......I would head first for small slice of the Prime rib then a few shrimp and a bit of lobster, then the desserts a wondrous platter and a coffee then I'd be done,,,, well maybe a glass of champagne or two
Hi there, Tessa :) Last I checked, the Ritz in Half Moon Bay no longer have their Xmas Buffet in the ballroom starting this year. It'll be in Navio, a much smaller venue, yet costs more - at $225/person. Isn't it nuts? I guess my video is fast becoming the last of its kind, which is sad. Do double check it with the hotel anyway. Let me know if I've heard wrong. Thanks so much for your kind comment. Take care!
This one looks great and Ritz Carlton always gets it right. If you ever have a chance try the Sunday brunch at the Breakers hotel in Palm Beach. Very similar but with a better ballroom that's ocean front to enjoy your food in. Instead of bad they have personal harpist that takes requests at your table.
ArchAngel 584, hi :) Thank you! Ocean front ballroom and personal harpist sounds like a perfect combo for brunching away on a beautiful Sunday. I'm loving it already. Great suggestion! Take care.
This is really nice but I can't see it being worth the money unless they threw in Moet or Vueve Cliqout and you killed a few bottles of that. Really creative menu but just so much going on. The caviar is most likely lumpfish or trout caviar but definitely not the elite Russian stuff. Save the money and just go to your area's best steak house, seafood monger, artisan baker, etc. and whoop it up for less.
Hey there, Neil! Haha I think we're paying for a really nice, creative brunch and then some - e.g. the ballroom, live band, cute Santa, extra holiday staff, etc. I'd rather have the elite Russian stuff, too :) Didn't bother ordering any champagne. All things considered, though, we're there for the Christmas experience that comes just once a year...so that's that. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take care :)
Club lounge probably serve something basic like Moet White Star. I can tell the difference between a Krug vintage champagne, Dom Perignon and Cristal on a blind taste test. And you can't bring the bottle from the lounge to the restaurant.
They are serving Dom in a buffet. I don't care which vintage. Personally, I prefer Cristal. A few years ago before i moved, I finished all my vintage collection. Include 1988 and 1989 Cristal and 1989 Lafite.

Hi there, RicTic66 :) Ahhahaha you've said it for me. Your comment really cracks me up, thanks so much! That prime rib was as delicious as it looked...it was truly that dangerous. Have a great weekend!!
TravelWithAlexis My goodness. I would have to had sampled a little bit of almost everything 😊 Beautiful setting. You had to of had a wonderful time. The food alone was a delight. So enjoyed the video. Tfs ❤️
How sweet of you to check in to see if I've already fallen off the face of the earth - no worries, I'm still here haha. July was not much to write home about, August is vacation, but fall will find me back in Italy so will see you then :) Take care!
Funny haha he said that? Btw I hear flared trousers trying to make a comeback lately though. Thanks so much, golfmaniac007, for watching and commenting :)
If we go there this Xmas, it'd be truly out of mind since the price is $225/person at Navio ( instead of the ballroom). Crazy huh? Thanks for watching and commenting, James Jackson :)

Amazing buffet and food. Almost worth the trip to San Francisco just to go, if buffets are still a thing !
Glad you liked the video! Unfortunately this buffet is not a thing anymore since a couple years ago :(
Yeah I wouldn't waste my time on beef or ham. I'd hit the seafood buffet and load caviar onto the oysters and jumbo shrimp. I'd call it surf n surf.

Nice buffet but what's with the flying spider at 3:14-3:18?
P.S. Welcome to my channel. Viewers like you really make my day. Poor spider being called out and all. I'm still laughing

I'm wondering what $36 in mid 90s is worth today. Cute story :)
CPI calculator says it is = to $58.51. Still not that much, unless, again, you're going to eat only $10 worth of food.
True that :)
@@urbanviii6557 it’s not true, only black caviar cost way more expensive!

Being a Canadian, I know how it feels 😩😩😩
Utterly beguiling, bewitching and how do you choose and beyond enticing and beautiful?
for that price, should be wild caught seafood
It's cheap for what you get.
This is worthy every penny of $185. A single serving of that black caviar is worth AT LEAST $100 all on it’s own.
This is incredible! Definitely adding this to my bucket list. Did you have any favorites when you went?

About 2 hours. You nailed it, it was a great bargain come to think of it :)
One of the finest looking buffets I've seen. Still, you'd think that they'd know the name is not "Brussel", but "Brussels Sprouts."
Glad you enjoy yourself. Take care!

You like? Thank you very much :)
We used to stop there years ago, when it was ''only'' $50 per person and it was marvelous then.
True that :)
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!

I don't really know, casual chic probably :)
Спасибо за видео!!!🤗
Thank you!
OMG the veggie dishes & salads are the best I've ever seen!!!
Right? You sure nailed it, Lenora Collins :) Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Take care!
Remain me to the old "ritz" day...
Watched again
How sweet of you to check in to see if I've already fallen off the face of the earth - no worries, I'm still here haha. July was not much to write home about, August is vacation, but fall will find me back in Italy so will see you then :) Take care!
Golden Corral
:)
Fantastic
Thanks so much 😀
i see "duck ala orange"..........as gordon ramsay would say, "its culinary equivalent to flared trousers"
Funny haha he said that? Btw I hear flared trousers trying to make a comeback lately though. Thanks so much, golfmaniac007, for watching and commenting :)
i definitely have the taste buds of a poor person cuz none of that was appealing.
It's true you are a bum
Dee B. Don’t be modest. The chef needed to justify the price. It’s all tricky food, well, maybe not the scrambled eggs!
My first reaction was you're out of you're mind, but seeing what's there I understand the price!
If we go there this Xmas, it'd be truly out of mind since the price is $225/person at Navio ( instead of the ballroom). Crazy huh? Thanks for watching and commenting, James Jackson :)
Ricotta Blintzes? Yes I am there.
Me too.
Elegant but being a military brat looks very much like most officers club brunch and dinners. Bon appetit!
Welcome to my channel. I always think military families are cool :)
After a meal like this I could come back to Italy swimming... 😚
Swimming alwhile smiling ear to ear? Cute comment, Alessandro :) Have a fantastic swim!
Keeps all the riff rats out. I think its beautiful.
Hi there, Kim :) Glad you like it. It sure is beautiful! Thanks for watching and commenting. Take care!!
myentil f someones got a chip on there shoulder I do not feel it means that at all it just means it keeps people out that can not afford something kind of like what Disney World is doing I am white and can not afford to go there or eat at the Ritzs for that matter.
Kim Davis I rather be a riff rat then a insufferable snob like you.
Ah, do you mean "riffraff" ?
Riff Raff love. Us Brits are proud. Did you miss that geezer in the hat and sunglasses? Classy!
In USA this type of spread is common, almost every single day. I am not saying it's mundane but the price is a bit over exaggerated.
for $185 hope it's not from farm fish and shrimp etc
Me too. Thanks for watching :)
looks so good!!!
You like? Thanks for commenting, Thomas :)
yeah. Good job.
Buffet is cheap ❤️
Wish I can afford those 😞
Cute sad face :) Wish you'll get to check this off your list some day...only if you want it :) Take care!

One day.. one day 😉
