ABOUT THIS FILM
____________________
Tawny owls
I've been following the story of tawny owls Luna & Bomber over many years and this year the pair had three chicks of their own this year.
Rescue chicks
But this incredible owl pair also took on six more rescued tawny owl chicks, responding to their calls to be fed.
Now branching
All of these owlets are now out of the nest, hopping between branches. But it's hard to spot them in the tree canopy.
Thermal binoculars
Thermal imaging is often used at night, but they can be used in the day as well and when the wind is blowing the leaves about it can be hard to find them with the naked eye.
Thermal imaging
Thermal imaging picks up heat signatures and I can locate the owls from as far as 70m. I can toggle through from optical view to thermal and the options include white hot, black hot, fusion and red hot.
Why I like using thermal binoculars
These make locating wildlife much faster and easier for me and that gives me more time to film their wild, secret lives.

Aww lovely to see the owlets doing so well. Thanks Robert. ❤🦉
Thank you Robert for showing us the new thermal binoculars and the imaging they give you. You have quite a flock of young Tawny Owls that Supermom Luna has been caring for!❤
Love the fuzzy babies. Thanks for sharing. Hi Robert. Take care everyone.
Robert, what you do for Wildlife is amazing, thank you.
That's very smart to use thermal during the day, too!
Wonderful that you take us along with you on your nature walks. Thank-you. It brightens my day.
Glad you enjoyed it
These fluffy babies being blown about in the wind are adorable! Thank you for caring for them and about them.
Those owls adore you! Just look at their slow blinking eyes!🦉🦉🦉
Thank you Robert for all that you do.
do sweet how the owlet in the last frame was headbobbing to get a better look at you..."I know that human from somewhere"😅
❤
So great to see the owlets!! They are fun to watch, as they cuddle and heads bob and weave. A special treat to watch. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for an interesting video on the owls and how technology makes your search easier
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant, no tawny owls on the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 where I live but the Long eared owl thrives here along with the barn owl and occasionally we get the short eared owls . The thermal imaging cameras are an absolute game changer for spotting what you’d not see with the naked eye. Brilliant video
Oh I do like long eared owls 🦉 tawny owls compete with them and the tawny win so they are lest common on the main land
@@RobertEFuller interesting to know , maybe that’s why the Leo thrives here on the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 in most woodland and plantation areas . I’ve got some great shots over the last few weeks of young ones branching and the adults coming in to feed them and the call they make is so distinctive .
Thermal ... Makes good finds.
Thanks for showing us what you are seeing through your binoculars. Looks like the owls were watching you too!❤
Awesome Binoculars -- bet those cost a pretty penny!
Loved 3:33 min. marker of 2 owlets on tree branch in the wind...Just beautiful!!! TY! 💞
Amazon have them for just shy of £2.8k. So a pretty penny indeed.
Aww So Adorable
Thank you Robert greetings from Sydney 🇦🇺

C'est comme un rêve éveillé.
Vos lunettes sont géniales .
Bravo de cette découverte.🙏
🍃Wonderful binoculars I can see them being very handy indeed. I love those owls 🦉 🍃
These tawny owlets have overwhelmed me with their adorability! As always, Luna and Bomber are the superstars for successfully raising so many babies. I'm so pleased that they were able to have their own owlets again this year.
🦉 ❤
Magical ❤
I don't care if it is an ad. If I get to see more of the owls outside the nest...I'm happy! I'd really like there to be cameras all over the property, so I could always keep tabs on all of them.🤣🎥🦉
Hi 👋 yes it’s not just a add I’m showing you how I find the owls and what I use to do it
It’s quite fascinating to see the world in thermal

Wow!!! This is incredible, Robert!!!! Awesome!!! You are so fortunate to have all this property, to see all the variations of wildlife, and assist in them rising their young with the fox dens, empty tree branch holes for nesting, etc. Love your safari videos, also, including your wonderful art!!!❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😮😮😮😅😅😊😊😊
It all keeps me busy 😄🦉🦊
Bet you when REF releases a full documentary on this year's brood, this video will be part of it.
Yes for sure 👌 looking at the world in thermal is quite fascinating and helps to find wildlife fast 💨

Exactly 👍
Fantastic binoculars. Luna and Bomber are owl stars (with your help of course).
Like always your films are beautiful ❤❤
great as always, would love a pair of those bins but the usage they'd get would be limited, will wait till they are under £1000
Amazing technology! ❤
Thank you so much! That's great. I will seriously think about investing in a good thermal binoculars. It really broadens the possibilities for wildlife spotting. Your work is stunning and amazing. Cheers from Germany, Gaby

🌬️ 🍃 🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉 ♨️♥️
👍🏼👌🏼😊
You have a pair of HikMicro’s! Those are a serious set of bins Robert. I’ve seen them for sale but don’t know anyone that’s actually bought a pair. Would you say they are worth the money?
Yes they are very useful for finding wildlife fast
They work the best in cooler conditions sun heats up rocks trees leaves etc and it makes it harder to spot the wildlife
I also have a monocular from HikMicro which is also very good
Another question I have: how far away do the young ones roam and fly as soon as they are grown up?
Tawny owls don’t go far maybe a few miles or more to find a territory of their own
Wish I could afford a pair of £1,200.00 binoculars
Robert, thank you for what you do for these animals! In previous videos, I have seen the owls catch what appears to me to be baby chickens. I may be wrong as I do not know for sure if these are chicks, but in a particular video you mentioned that you left the owl some food and it looked like a chick again. Do you hatch chicks that are meant to help supplement the owls diet? Or do the owls just happen to get one of the chicks that your hens hatched?
The chicken chicks, I buy them frozen , they are male’s chicks from the hen laying industry I also buy mice but they are very expensive
owls are my favorite reptile
Reptile ???
@@francoisebeylie2923 yes birds are reptiles snugged nicely in the archosaurs and within the theropod dinosaurs. did you know the smallest dinosaur to ever live is alive today. the bumble bee hummingbird.
@@francoisebeylie2923 if you do not include birds as reptiles you create a polytomy which violates classicist biology. alligators are closer to birds than they are to lepidosaurs which are lizards and snakes. yes im a cladistic biologist with a degree in the field.
@@francoisebeylie2923 so if alligators are reptiles so are birds by default. thats how modern molecular biology works. linaeus was wrong in many ways because he did not have these res. available to him
@@francoisebeylie2923 owls are birds birds are theropod dinosaurs. dinosaurs are archosaurs archosaurs are reptiles. by the logic of cladistics birds are reptiles.
What brand are those binoculars and where do you buy this?
These are HIKMICRO HABROK 4K Binoculars. You can buy these binoculars here: carmarthencameras.com/products/hikmicro-habrok-4k-thermal-digital-binocular-he25l?hikpromotiontracker2 and if you use this purchase discount code: CCHIKMICRO5 between June 28th until July 12th, 2024 you'll also get some money off.
what are the name of the Binoculars Robert ?
thank you...
I won't toss their fur into the yard because it attracts the millions of coyotes.
Sono davvero Bellissimi 💕
