If it's black, how come the layers and texture is so much well-defined and visible, is it because of the lighting or a product? The problem is that I also got dark shoulder length layered hair cut but no matter what I do the layering is not visible because my hair doesn't reflect the light I guess.
If you mean to ask about the face shape - it is square, so any hair style will work! Since your son has shoulder- length hair, Trimming too short will make him quite uncomfortable so we would recommend to either go with side parting hair as to be seen in K-pop or simply undercut with no fade! hope that explains :)
This video shows why more guys who grow out their hair give themselves more styling options way better than short hair which is same look day in day out. Longer hair on guys at any age just shows a guy cares about himself rathe than a set short standard look.
