Congrats! Welcome home
Amazing. Welcome
I was baptized Catholic as an infant but didn't grow up in the faith. On May 19, as a 24 year old I'll be receiving my First Communion and Confirmation! Praise be to God!
Sad. Well now you never have to critically think because the Pope is your bastion for truth! don't believe me. Look up the cult. If he says pederasty is good then you HAVE to believe him. Afterall he is the vicar of christ.
Make sure you make a good confession prior to your first communion.

Catholic rituals. The Body and Blood of Christ do this in memory was just symbolic. Christ meant for us to devour the gospel. Eat and drink his words. Study scripture.
It never says it's symbolic in the Bible. Jesus says this is my body, this is my blood. You're adding to the Bible and making up what you want it to say if you say it's symbolic.
Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change. An act of obedience, repentance, and submission to God.
And not required for salvation. Catholics preach works+faith. Bible preaches faith alone.
God says if you preach another gospel you are accursed. Catholics are pagan, not Christian.
Having experienced it, whilst being frightened of water, it is definitely that! 🙏
Baptism is required for Salvation.and catholics teach that. works. Through grace are nessarry for salvation. Faith only is only mentioned once in the new Testament in James 2:24 and it condemns the idea. @damienmulder909
@@christendomempire5657 Now you know you're not Christian. Works+faith is not correct. Jesus did all the work the cross, God does not need your contribution. Your works fade and are like dirty rags.
James 1:1 says he is writing to the 12 tribes. you're not Jewish. Learn to rightly divide.
Ephesians literally says NOT OF WORKS. NOT OF YOURSELVES. IT IS A GIFT.
If you had ANY part in earning it then it's not a gift. You simply accept or deny a gift. Once you understand salvation is faith alone in God's finished work on the cross you are not Christian. You're wrong. Deal with it by going to Jesus in prayer and sincerely asking to be shown the truth.
It's not a symbol it is real metaphysical and spiritual event that literally change us, by killng us, man of sin and and reborning us Thru Christ death and resurrection. It is real yust as death and birth are real. It is not a symbol.
I was baptized as a baby. Never religious since.. Newly exploring Catholicism. Jesus Christ is the way.❤
Look into orthodox Christianity. ✝️ beautiful way to follow Jesus.
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life
My heart aches for Catholics. They are good and great people. The Catholic Church is not good in my opinion. Actually scary. The Vatican and Pope are evil. This confuses the people who consider themselves catholic, unless they are spirit filled. Then I wonder what's the point unless you are superstitious or just like religion. I do not feel comfortable around religious people. I like being around other believers and hearing teachings based on the Bible.
Go for a bible loving church. OverkillYou don't need a priest and don't need to confess your sins to a person in a booth. They pray to Mary and saints which is not in the bible. Only worship jesus.
I was raised Catholic as a child but I quit when I was 9. I had no religion for a long time. Considered myself agnostic but then I became very spiritually inclined..my experiences lead me God and soon after to Christ. However the Bible itself lead me to getting baptized Christian, not Catholic. I remember the Catholic church I grew up in very well. We kneeled/bowed down on our knees in the pews before statues of Mary, we also had a separate room specifically designed for praying to Mary, there is also a prayer to Mary we were taught. The Bible says not to worship/bow before idols/statues and not to pray to the dead. Also, another huge thing I've noticed is that the Catholic church never encouraged reading the Bible like the Christian church does.
I was raised completely secular, religion was not part of my life at all. Thats what its like for 99% of us here in the Britain.
But after listening to you over the last few years Michael, and the likes of Bishop Barron, I have been attending a catholic church for a few weeks now with my sights set on Baptism soon.
Thank you.
way to go! I pray for you brother.
Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Repent and believe in him as your Lord and Savior and you will be saved! God bless! 🩵💕🦋💕🩵
💕🌸🌺Romans 10:9-11 KJV 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 🌺🌸💕
My pastor mentioned Russell Brand in his sermon Sunday. The whole congregation prayed for him!!!
THAT should be the response of every true Believer. And pretty much just that alone. The Lord burdened my heart to pray for him a few months back. Thanks for sharing.

I think the reason the Catholic Church is specifically seeing higher conversion rates is definitely to see a return to traditionalism. The world is on fire. People are looking for the firefighter.
Unfortunately Roman Catholicism irretrievably threw Christianity in the bin by declaring core Gospel tenets anathema.
Luther and Calvin pulled Christianity out of the dumpster fire that the Papacy had built higher and higher since early Medieval times.
My husband was a fr*m*son- I prayed for years- last year God spoke to him- he burned his regalia etc and was baptised now he is preaching Christ in the local prison praise God!
Praise The Almighty God indeed; with Him everything is possible. He is The One Supreme God.
He and your family needs deliverance from these curses and oaths that they take on you. Look up Deliverance Prayers by Fr. Ripperger. It's a little prayer book and you will find an introduction video on Sensus Fidelium RUclips channel about it. In the backside there are prayers on how to break a Freemason curse. These curses can affect kids multiple after him!
Praise God🙌!! I like how you censored the word like it is a curse word
Why did you censor the word "freemason"?

I really, really wish I had heard Jesus mentioned even once in this video. I'll be praying that Russel and Michael will be in the word with a mind stayed on Christ first. Before all the man-made church formalities, and man-made rituals such as praying the Rosary.

@@dianamarie1652 My mistake, you're right! I was admittedly too distracted by the non-Christian perspectives he shared after. I am only 23 years old and I had been an atheist my entire life. For the last few years I started to open up to religion and became more interested in learning about different religions. Now I wholeheartedly believe in God and I pray everyday. Starting to pray was the best decision I ever made in my life. I have never prayed and felt like God wasn't answering my prayers, I always feel more upbeat, motivated, and have a much better mental clarity. If I am ever feeling unmotivated or upset, I always know praying will help me.
That's awesome! May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
Very true. I'm not sure exactly where you land on denominations but maybe you'd like gabiafterhours on youtube. He has really helped me be a more devoted Christian. He has a story about his own conversion too. God bless!
This is great, but remember that a relationship goes two ways. God's been there when you needed Him. Trade your life for the sacrifice of His death, be freed from sin by His blood and give back to Him by living as an example of who He is.
So you went from free thinking to sheep
@@Bevtone Atheism has a lot of depressing logical conclusions such as there is no objective morality, evil is only an illusion necessary for survival, and pretty much everything associated with morality and goodness is an illusion. I was also an atheist for about 1.5 years (and off and on before that). I hit my lowest point ever and pretty much had a crisis of meaninglessness. I had thought I was strong and smart because I stared at objective meaninglessness and still "found meaning" and was unafraid to face reality. Anyways, I was very stubborn until this terrible low point (where I was waking up sweating every day, nightmares, and I truly felt like I was in Hell, and in a living nightmare). My Mom invited me to Mass and I wanted to go. I went not because I believed, but I knew I wanted to be there. Every single time at the consecration the congregation says, "Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed." I would tear up. Tose words I spoke were a longing for God (and acknowledgement of distance from God) that I really hadn't spoken of in my atheism. I felt many things at Mass, and I believe it is because in daylight you see candles and hardly pay attention, but when the electricity goes out, you are left with only candles. I was super drawn to God and I felt a need for Him but I really felt uncertain. I had actually probably become a bit more agnostic at this point because of the argument that something cannot ever come from nothing and it didn't make sense that unconscious things create far more complex things/I understood the whole thing was beyond my compacity, and that if I didn't know I existed, I would assume nothing exists (because it makes more sense for nothing to exist than for something to exist but here we are). Anyways I began praying to, but not very much, and my prayer was always, "God, if you exist, I need to know. I need you to show me because there are so many religions." I remember telling friends and family that I would always find beauty in Catholicism but that I didn't think I would ever be able to fully commit or to believe it was factually true. I began to give up certain sins, out of respect I suppose, for a God I truly felt some love for, but didn't know if He was simply a beautiful north star to follow or a true God who knew me. My prayer was answered I think about 2 months after I began asking God to please show me. I ran into information about prophesies in a place called Fatima, where 3 shepherd children claimed to be visited my the Virgin Mary. I looked into it and the more I read about it the more true it appeared, whereas I expected it to fall apart the closer I looked. The kids were too young to create such an elaborate hoax with all these moving pieces. And in one apparition Mary told them there would be a miracle in the sky so that others would believe and thousands of people came and witnessed a miracle where the sun was moving. There were no lies that the kids got caught in. Those who knew the kids said that the little boy would often visit Jesus in the sacrament of the Eucharist and that they would be offering up sacrifices to save souls. They prayed all 20 mysteries of the rosary daily and said that Mary had asked everyone to pray and offer up little sacrifices. This kind of miraculous situation reminded me of hearing aboht the Shroud of Turin, so I looked it up and founded that the carbon dating was done incorrectly, and I looked into it from many sources and found a ton of compelling evidence pointing to authenticity. And I found that this apparition at Fatima is not the only one, there are many many apparitions that are similar. She keeps saying to pray the rosary and offer up sacrifices. And many miracles have been documented, there is a 60 minutes documentary of the 70th documented Lourdes miracle, they have doctors who say "we see that this person has a condition that simply does not heal on it's own, and we don't know how it healed" and they have records of uncurable ailments before and after. And these are not even the only kinds of miracles, there are eucharistic miracles where a human heart tissue with ab blood and the blood is found to be blood from someone who underwent torture. Anyways, if you are open to the possibility, God does leave a trail. But the evidence is just sort of there if you want to believe. Because you can look at the Shroud of Turin and say, "Scientifically unexplainable, certainly matches Jesus, but who knows how that happened, maybe some unknown phenomenon that is similar to the light from a nuclear bomb made that picture, idk move along" if you do not want to believe. If you do want to believe, you see that it is an impossible creation and that miracles happen in a world with God, so you believe. I know because my nonbelieving friends and family (1 who has since converted) would say, "yeah, we don't know how it happened." That isn't quite the free thinking unbiased intelligence that we wished we had. Atheists are human too though.
Dear Russell. God Bless You! The Holy Spirit will seek you and change your life!

Sounds like social contagion to me. Is anyone really surprised someone like Brand is doing this? His personality and "spiritual" beliefs mixed with his audience's beliefs would predict this.
In all of history, it is during the hardest worst, most horrible times when the most people surrender their lives to Christ and are saved. We have to be patient as God is, through these times where we call out to him the loudest, wondering why He doesnt just wave a hand and make it better and deal with our enemy, so when it is time, more souls rise with us. People are turning to Him for salvation every day.
It is both a good thing and a bad thing. It’s good that people are turning to Christ but a bad thing that bad times are precipitating that. People need to go to Christ all the time, even in good times.

I was never an atheist but I was a nihilist. The more the awareness of the dark pit of meaninglessness of western Jewish culture hit me I went towards the Catholic church. My Pentecostal sola scriptura family hates the Catholic church but their critiques were not very convincing. The body of Christ needs to be united.
impressive! God bless you!
Have you never heard of the Council of Trent? Catholicism since then cannot claim to be Biblical.
Hard to hear for someone coming from a Pentecostal background, but I suggest you search out the preaching of solid orthodox Reformed preachers like Charles Spurgeon, Voddie Baucham, RC Sproul, John MacArthur, James White. They preach the sole authority of scripture, salvation through God’s grace, and God’s sovereignty over all, we are not living in a time of miraculous events (such as many Pentecostals and Charismatics assert) and also the very unpopular message that bad things happen to Christians and in fact if your not a near death drug addict but living a regular “comfortable” life that turning to Christ is more likely to mean a lot of rejection, especially in the modern workplace. The Joel Osteen’s of this world are some of Christianity’s greatest enemies.
I'm not trying to rush to judgment but if you listen to his video he was talking about his baptism being some sort of Christ Awakening and that's the same Talk of the new age philosophy and the Christ Consciousness crowd. Literally today the very next day after his baptism he made a video with tarot cards. I just pray and hope this man finds the real Jesus Christ of Nazareth of the Bible or else he is still lost and dead in his sin
Yeah, I hope for the best for him, but I noticed that Tarot card… and “Praying the Rosary” doesn’t save you.
Totally agree. He is a new ager. No repentance here. Hopefully this is a start of a relationship with Jesus. He is reading the Bible now. I myself took 10 years to get born again after making a decision for Christ. Pray the Lord will guide him and he loses that rosary.
I hear you, i'm a bit worried that he will go that way but I am praying that he will start to really dig into his Bible and discover the truth that Jesus is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through him, I am hopeful that Russell will get there.
A step in the right direction. None of us have finished our journey.
It's pretty incredible how people want certain things to be true so badly they will cheer and congratulate without verifying it's true or waiting to see if the "former" addict with questionable views is serious. Considering who we're talking about, some skepticism would be prudent.
I think we should suspend judgment and wish this man the best of luck on his new journey! Good luck !
Judgement is discerning absolute truth from not, and right from wrong.
Right judgment is a good thing and a virtue. God wants us to engage in right judgment. He gave us the intellect to do so.
I’m Catholic and had a full immersion baptism 🫶hope he comes home to the Church!
For me, Catholism is a traditional religion in practice! Many things the catholic members do is not in the Bible at all! Praying to Mary, counting the rosary are not in the Bible along with many other things. I know we all have our own ideas on the path to God. But that's not it for me.
Did you repent before you did it? Were you baptized in the name of Jesus Christ or in the name of father son and holy spirit. If you were not baptized in the name of Christ, then you just had a bath.

I became a Christian in 1997, at university, after my tarot cards and runes used to go haywire when the Christian next door was praying. I knew whatever she was doing, it was more powerful than anything I was doing.
My whole life clicked into place then, and I became a different person. I married the worship leader at church and, three children later, we minister together and life is wonderful. Back then, I was en route to becoming a published author, but my debut novel was an occult mess and I became a Christian in time to pull out of publication, although I obviously lost my agent.
Now I write Christian fantasy - The Kingdom Rising series - as well as dystopian. I'm so grateful I was saved when I was, because even a month later there would be a very dark novel to my name. Not that I don't have darkness in my work now, I don't shy away from showing the pure squalor of the world from which Jesus saves us.
I can never bless God enough for what he has done.

Repentence matters.
Yep. It's the first thing he said to his disciples for a reason.
it is a part of the baptismal process he went through
not according to the Catholic. Strict aherence to the papacy and doing the sacraments gets you in heaven. Why do you think they magically bring down jesus every weekend and kill him? To satisfy their sins of the week. Why do you think I went after Catholic women in college? Their legs open up sooooo much easier when they can be forgiven on Sunday.
Also, doctrine and proper theology matters! Because if you repent and you have the wrong understanding of Jesus then you're just as lost as the rest of the world.
@@jonahhanson38 Russell Brand has everything. He’s got the repentance and theology. It was refreshing seeing him come home this weekend. Christ is Risen.
Catholicism comes with the overt challenge to continually grow through regular Confession and regular reception of the Eucharist. The Sacraments are life-giving.

Yeah he did not get baptized catholic he's using and exploding catholics for sympathy because he is In some deep hot water over his sexual scandals
No such thing. Sacraments are an invention of that church. The bible says confess to one another not to a priest who by the way is just as sinful and flawed as the rest of us. The Eucharist is an abomination. The Spaniards killed people who would not believe it is actually Christ. The body and blood of Christ is his WORD. He wants us to devour scripture every day not eat some Eucharst.

even the atheists, who are the most critical of Christianity, agree that Jesus is a historical figure. That's some strange truth you've found there.
@@jayhill2193 You guys have the same answer every time. Not all atheists agree. Most who do were raised Christian and have to use pretzel logic to justify Jesus being real while dismissing everything else as myth. The "evidence" they use for their opinions is easily accessible, so we can all view it and come to our own conclusions. We are all guessing. There is no physical evidence of his existence. It is all textual, written by people who didn't know him after his death.
@kozykarma7471 what would be the motives to invent a mythical character and die for it?
@@daltonramirez8363 Because a messiah was necessary to fulfill old testament prophecies. He didn't have to be invented in the sense he was knowingly faked. Paul, who frequently referenced the old testament and knew of the prophecies, said he learned the gospels by way of revelation directly from Jesus after he died. No real Jesus necessary. He may have believed Jesus was real, but that didn't make him real.
Dying for beliefs has been going on for a very long time, and still happens today. Muslims are happy to do it, and political protesters set themselves on fire. Believing something is real doesn't make it real.

So wonderful. I was just confirmed after 2 years of RCIA- I pray that Russell Brand continues his journey home.
Happy for him. In these dark and uncertain times we need God more than ever.
Hey, I'm a nondenominational Charismatic Christian who uses the 1662 Book of Common Prayer (C of E). Using historical spiritual practices doesn't indicate denominational ties one bit! And the Charismatic church is exploding in growth all around the world--has been for decades. Nice to see the RCC getting some of the overflow! Gentle ribbing aside(and I hope that is how it is taken, because that *is* how it was meant), God is moving! People are hungry for God--for authentic contact with God. Wherever they find that, will grow!

@@cindyortiz4552careful now. I'm not a Catholic either but it's important not to intentionally or unintentionally misunderstand their view. Mary bore Jesus in her womb. He developed as a human inside her, so in a sense, she absolutely was the mother of God. Catholics obviously don't believe that Father God in heaven was a created being.
We have arrived to the Great Revival. The seeds have been planted for 2,000 years and those of us living get to watch them bloom, a holy privilege
I love the Catholic Church, the Mass and receiving Holy Eucharist. I feel joy when I go to Mass. The more I pray to the Holy Spirit the better feel about my daily life. Thanks be to God🙏

How amazing is this

I do not understand the appeal of Catholicism. Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38 and Luke 23:45 taught us that the veil was torn by the blood of Christ Jesus. Catholics seem to put that veil back up. Through the blood of Christ Jesus we have direct access to the Father. Not through a priest or another saint (all who are saved are saints, set apart, holy, consecrated to God). Through Jesus.
The Catholic system seems to be just a reflection of the Pharisees that Jesus rebuked.
We were made by God. His Spirit is within us. Our spirit is never at rest until it rests in God.
Russell is in recovery and the way 12 step programs address the matter of faith is the correct way imho. I've seen people who outright reject the concept of God learn to truly rely on him cuz of that. A lot of the times they end up becoming Christian because this is a Christian society but there's people from all faiths there bonding with each other over their loving higher powers. It's a beautiful thing!
Good for him ,bless him ❤
Love that Russel came home :)
I was baptized as child. Come from Poland where it was normal for everyone. Like tradition.
I always loved God but as adult came here and slowly started going away.
I still live in a concubine civil marriage but I converted back to my faith. Checked all of them!! JESUS changed my heart.
I live over a year like a brother and sister with my husband. My pornographic addiction of 25 years went away very fast. God is good!! Feel so much love for God. Hope, he changes my husband's heart as well. Pray for us :)
If it's genuine I welcome him as a brother. We will have to wait and see if It's genuine and also let's not hold him up as oh we have another won to Christ because people did that with Kanye and it just led him down a bad path because no one told him to study the scriptures and stay out of the spotlight. People need to help Russell study the scriptures and understand them
AWESOME!
I am really impressed with Russell’s courage to share his spiritual journey at a point in time where Christians and Jews are mocked!
I listened to this man for years but felt convicted about it because he was into new age and not a Christian. So, I stopped. But I prayed he find Christ. Now I can listen to him and his philosophy because it is now founded on God's word. It reminds me of Keith Green's testimony. I loved his mind and intellectual capabilities and thought what a testimony and witness if he only could become a saved person and experience a new beginning with Christ.
God always provides. Russel will never regret this, may God bless and keep him strong. ✝
Welcome to the family, Russell! There is a true revival happening in our nation…this is just one more example of it. I wish him well as he begins his faith journey.

Though raised Protestant in the Church of Christ, I was led home by my beautiful Lord and Savior; every question I had was answered, every objection rebutted by truth. The gifts of the one true apostolic Catholic church are immeasurable: a true family with God the Father, Mary our Mother, Christ our Brother, the Holy Spirit our breath of life. I've never regretted a second of it; the beauty, the fulfillment, the peace are all so palpable and firm. All praises and thanksgiving to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary for their enduring love, mercy, and grace! I pray that everyone will come to know this love and peace!
Mary was a sinner, Jesus is not our brother. Where on earth or in the Bible do you get this heretical stuff from?!?!?
People need to stop criticize other's faith. Stop with the religious evaluation! It's not your place to judge who's credible and who's not. Your job is making sure YOU ARE saved.

Hopefully his baptism will be the beginning of a new life.
Welcome to the family! God bless you!
So a bunch of us have been noticing this "seemingly out of nowhere" conversion happening in people's hearts, and yes, to Catholicism. I like to agree with my dad that "God is raising up an army." I do believe it is that time.
But I think fundamentally, and my reconversion is a testament to this, people are being forced to decide what they ACTUALLY believe. In a world where the very essence of truth is being challenged by a nihilist humanism in many forms, people have to put their chips down and decide how to act. There is no room for lukewarmness in a world being pulled apart by extremes. This turbulence in society forces people down to the absolute fundamentals. The existence of God is the most fundamental question. Those who honestly seek shall find 🙏
See you at Mass, Michael 😉

1 Peter 3:21 - " 21 And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you."
Mark 16:16 - "The one who believes and is baptized will be saved;"
Acts 2:38 - " Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
How do we make sense of these passages?
Thanks for this encouraging word Michael.

Much love Russell. You will make a wonderful Christian; a real Christian.
This was prophesied Michael for our times. God says in the Bible, “In the last days I will pour my spirit on mankind…(Acts 2: 17). Where there’s much sin there is also much grace as well. We are living in the grace era that’s not going to last too much longer I believe.
I’m a Christian, not a Catholic, but there are things about Catholicism that are appealing to me right now. I don’t subscribe to a lot of the doctrinal aspects of Catholicism, but the stability and tradition that Catholicism brings seems very calming in such a chaotic world, especially given the weird progressive nature that modern non-denominational churches have started prescribing to. There’s a desperate desire not only for God Himself but for stability in an increasingly unstable world.
Fellow non Catholic Christian here, I can certainly understand the sentiment. My biggest issues with the Catholic Church are shared with several of the Protestant denominations, mainly the holier art thou attitude they have towards other believers, but I also believe God shows us all our own way to the Truth, and those denominations were not my way. Whether the Catholics want to accept it or not, God does have a personal relationship with all of us and when we seek the Truth, we will find it. Ultimately we don't need to bicker amongst Christians about who interpreted a scripture correctly, we need to be living by Jesus' example and attracting more people to come and see what Jesus can do in their lives.
I don't care what church as long as they are basing their salvation on the shed blood of Jesus Christ, not membership in a church.
No Christian denomination teaches that church membership itself saves. Neither do Catholic nor orthodox churches.
1 Timothy 3: 14 - 16 - Beloved: I am writing you, although I hope to visit you soon. But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth.

It surprises you that people who the world has failed seek the kingdom of God?
Why would someone who is in love with the world and indulging in sin seek God?
There is nothing in this whatsoever that makes the Church "look bad". You may realise that yourself if you think more carefully about this.
Yes way! ✝
@@kozykarma7471 Didn't this pattern start with St Paul and Mary Magdalene and St Matthew and St Augustine and St Francis of Assisi and Thomas Merton and I could keep going. We all need to pray for him. Whoever you were before baptism doesn't matter anymore. Being gifted The Holy Spirit makes you a new creation and one of Gods children, and we need to pray that he doesn't fall away like other celebrities unfortunately have.
Yesterday when saw he make broadcast about being B. I only had one thought was to pray for Russell .
God is doing something amazing right now in the west. Every church I talk to is growing. And churches have done a sharp turn in their priorities in many cases too, focusing on their community. Our city just finished 21 days straight of 24/7 prayer and worship, with most of the churches involved. The Spirit is moving!!!
I did it. I went thru the RCIA (Catholic Church), 4 Sacraments for the price of one deal. Many Catholics go thru them one at a time, growing up going to Catholic elementary school or thru parish catechism. But not me. Because I was not baptized as a baby in the Catholic church. So I got baptism, reconciliation, eucharist, and confirmation all on the same Sunday. This also happened 20 years later for my two sons. So, at the tender age of 10 were all firmly dedicated to the Catholic church. Most young Catholics don't become confirmed until, 14-16 years of age. The three of us have been religiously confused ever since. Even though we all went to Catholic parish schools, and they were alter boys as well. After the disillusionment and break up with the CC, we have not been back since. My oldest is now Lutheran. So Good Luck Russ. 👍

“As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.”
Romans 14:1-4 ESV
Michael, I know you are speaking from the standpoint of being Catholic, but it's not the Christian 'denomination' that people need to turn to, it's CHRIST, and CHRIST ALONE!
Good thing that Christ's One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church isn't a denomination then! Let us all turn to Christ on HIS terms, in HIS Church, that we may live with Him forever. Peace and blessings to you in our Lord Jesus Christ, whose flesh is true food, and whose blood is true drink.
@@hunterstrauss6591scripture agrees. There is one Church and Christ made it so to ensure unity of the saints.
”I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit-just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call- one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.“

@hunterstrauss6591 Boy, you Catholics really do believe that you are the ONLY church, don't you!!! You're not even the FIRST church! The FIRST church were the converted Jews that Christ, the Apostles, and Disciples preached to! The Catholic church wasn't even formed until 30AD, after Christ's death, Resurrection, and His ascension into heaven!
Baptism itself doesn’t save you. It is an important outward showing of a change in your heart. One must accept Christ then show the world and share Gods hope to the world
”Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,“
1 Peter 3:21
Baptismal regeneration was held universally by the early church. Just to name a couple:
St. Jerome
“This much you must know, that baptism forgives past sins, but it does not safeguard future justice, which is preserved by labor and industry and diligence and depends always and above all on the mercy of God” (Dialogue Against the Pelagians 3:1 [A.D. 415]).
St. Augustine:
“By this grace baptized infants too are ingrafted into his [Christ’s] body, infants who certainly are not yet able to imitate anyone. Christ, in whom all are made alive,…gives also the most hidden grace of his Spirit to believers, grace which he secretly infuses even into infants….It is an excellent thing that the Punic [North African] Christians call baptism salvation and the sacrament of Christ’s Body nothing else than life. Whence does this derive, except from an ancient and, as I suppose, apostolic tradition, by which the Churches of Christ hold inherently that without baptism and participation at the table of the Lord it is impossible for any man to attain either to the kingdom of God or to salvation and life eternal? This is the witness of Scripture too…If anyone wonders why children born of the baptized should themselves be baptized, let him attend briefly to this…The sacrament of baptism is most assuredly the sacrament of regeneration” (Forgiveness and the Just Deserts of Sin, and the Baptism of Infants 1:9:10; 1:24:34; 2:27:43 [A.D. 412]).
@@tobspinn In context, that's Peter saying that baptism is a way of asking the Lord for a good conscience in reference to dealing with suffering. Peter isn't describing baptism as a 'get into heaven free' card, he is explaining that petitioning the Lord for a good conscience through baptism will help ease your suffering.
14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
16 having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil.
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
19 in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison,
20 because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.
21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.
@@tobspinnwe should note that the appeal to God is for a complete removal of sin, not just a "good" conscience. But for the remission of sin and the invitation of the Holy Spirit. Vivo Cristo Rey

I didn’t know I was baptized until I was in about 3rd or 4th grade. I actually learned it at Sunday school when they brought cake in. The cake had a bunch of random dates on each slice, and they gave us the piece that had our baptism date on it. I'm totally on board with people just waking up and turning to the light of faith in these dark times. Russell has made a real impact on people lately which is very inspiring considering he started out as a below average Hollywood actor.
Baptism is only if you have believed in Jesus as your saviour.
Russel seems to think that it has some kind of magical efficacious effect,
rather than being symbolic of our death and resurrection with Christ.
Well, scripture does tell us to be born again by WATER and SPIRIT (baptism), as well as Jesus very last command is to go forth and baptizing all nations. John the Baptist tells his disciples that someone coming after him will baptize. Baptism doesn't seem like a small thing to Jesus.
You seem to think you have insight into what Russell seems to think. Jesus warns us against thinking such things. Oh, and "by their fruits ye shall know them."
@@contemplatingchrist
Can you remind me where we are to be born again by water?
Baptise can mean different things in different contexts as it simply means to dip, immerse.
