Still the sweet memories of riding a Chethak is in mind at this age of 62. Hope Bajaj may introduce a new version of "Chethak" soon because no other scooter can overcome "Chethak".

@ No U You are wrong..... In those days, even an upper middle class family weren't able to afford Bajaj Chetak. Only Financially stable families could afford a Scooter. Middle class and lower class families couldn't even comfortably afford a bus ticket or traveling in an auto. Only the Upper class could afford a car. Upper middle class during those days wasn't like today's. Today, lower class families can afford a car. That's why, there has been huge competition and imbalance in living ways.
My Dad still use the Bajaj Chetak and I love riding it. The say is always right Hamara Bajaj (Our Bajaj). No scooter can't be replicated like Bajaj Chetak (likewise 150 cc engine) . It's an legendary scooter. ❤️. I even clocked 100 kmph in Bajaj Chetak.
Definitely this gives father's memories...most of the Indian fathers used these scooters...this is nostalgia...90s kids will have lots of memories in these...

My father used to own one of this scooters till 2012 , still have great memories of riding it with my dad. If it didn't start in one kick we used to bent it side ways 😅
The best part is that even in low maintenance it does fairly well. its body part full metalled and thats why even now many of the bajaj scooter manage to run on roads.
This was the speed machine in those times. What an engine, what a pick up. Not to forget, what were those days. This scooter could do a 100kmph as well. Nothing can match these 2 stroke machines.
I still drives my dad chetak 97. I restore it in 2016 and it give mileage of 62kmpl and top speed is 90kmph. Such aa good scooter and having many good memories
There is no comparison to Vespa. It is robust,reliable easy to maintain and spare wheel. I am using 1970 model till now.Though availability of spares is a big problem now in Pakistan,but import from India is a helping to maintain it.I wish I could import one from India. I will celebrate its golden jubilee in March 2020.
My father owned it in 1998..and still rides it. I also ride it. The rider seat has best shock absorber.. .It is metal Greg same as shown in video.. it's true beast.. recently purchased XUV 300...but I would like to ride Bajaj Chetak for next 10 more years.
Old ones u will get slightly engine parts r renovated with Honda carburettor + 3 port Bore + flange type silencer gives max.. 50 kmpl , no other present genre can dare to over take this Indian Horse , present day ones r real Donkeys ? U want one 1994 Mdl one is lying ideal , it needs painting , u can use as it is ?

I have one from 97' white and green, my dad came whit it fresly painted but whithout the gas wire, back right turn ligth and awry steering tree years ago, I loved it since the first time but I never have the time or money to do someting whit it until two monts ago, when I started the engine was sticked because I didn't turn on in two years but some fresh 2T oil in the cylinder for one week, wash the carbouretor and the gas tank and turned on!, all the initial problems gets solved by a friend and myself (we don't know anything of mechanic) now I AM learning to drive a bike whit it, sadly the gearbox dosen't pass from second and the paint job is mistreaded but make it run it again make me very happy; I understand why those beauties are soo loved in India

We can only hope and pray that they will start importing them into Canada, the Japanese bikes are just TOO expensive... I wrote Bajaj an email and told them there were many people interested in buying their products in Canada.
