Always good to get comparisons in reviews and this is the first one using the Vader and Evo as references, great! I have two Vaders, 5'6, 5'7 and with heaps of fin variations, surf them in everything from beachies to maxing JBay. By no means high performance sticks, but sooo much fun to ride, as the review says, great on the rail. Have a 5'5 Evo and gave it to my 5 yr old. Tried it in everything, including JBay where an iron board will go well, but it just doesn't shine. Heard the same from others that the Evo is a bit dead and probably very well suited for beginner to intermediate surfers due to it's user friendly nature. I reckon advanced surfers will get more out of the Vader, whereas the Evo seems to be very well suited for beginner to intermediate riders. Anyone with experience on the Cymatic wanna make further comparisons between the 3 boards?
I had one of these that I bought after my Vader finally gave up the ghost and surfed it for about two years. Cant say I loved it. Works for Kelly Slater but not me. I since bought a Dominator II and love it way more and my friends say I the dominator looks better for me. I found the cymatic unforgiving, skatey in bigger waves, hard to actually get onto waves. I rode it as a quaddy. In it's defence I live in Newcastle Australia and we really didnt get great waves for me to ride it on. For our beach breaks it never really got a chance to shine.
Great review! I would love your thoughts on the Cymatic compared to the Vader. I have ridden a Vader for a few years and it is falling apart. I have absolutely loved it. I am trying to decide whether I should replace it with another Vader or a Cymatic. I am most interested in the added width of the Cymatic compared to the Vader. Does the narrower tail of the Cymatic basically neutralize the added width? So that the Vader and the Cymatic can be surfed in similar conditions and in similar ways but arrive there by different principals? Vader: more narrow but wider tail = Cymatic: wider but narrower tail
Hey mate, yeah I would agree that you can use the cymatic for the same type of waves as the vader, I reckon it would be an ideal replacement for that board!

Great looking board, however saw so many super yellowish Firewire/Slater boards. It seems that LFT does not correspont very well with sunlight?!
I wouldn't say they react to sun any differently really mate, great boards!

Great video. Is this a good wave pool board?
