Tbf he himself is actually balance, it's AH buff that make him insane with the massive buff
Ulp is cracked but not that cracked bud.
Gladiia's module is doing most of the heavy lifting for him (in the survival department) (30% damage reduction and 3.5% healing per sec etc).
Hoederer could pull off most of the stuff in this video as well (his S3 can even solo Old Patriot at rank 7).
@@zerogalaxy2735 With the right RNG (If he misses his stun, Patriot can and will just walk up to Hoederer and kill him)
You can still clear the latest chapters and hardest content with Launch/Year 0 ops (there's literally a niche for that on bilibili and there's even a low count year 0 ops)
if by game balance you mean clearing content then you shouldn't worry, cause it has been good ever since chapter 8, besides DoS which is very hardcore oriented.

With max potentials and modules on Skadi and Specter Alt, that's another 53% hp and 24% atk... this guy would be a bigger tank...

The Abyssal faction synergy, while amazing, is always a bit overstated: they're all strong on their own and while bringing them all does instantly win most maps, there are many other combinations of 4-7 (incl. 5-stars/Skalter) arbitrary units who stomp everything as/more easily (Ling, Texas2, Mlynar, etc.).
That said I love how accessible the archetype remains with Gladiia being free, Skadi being in Recruit/Kernel, and now Ulpian being Standard.
i think Abyssal Squad is noteable for being more forgiving and "no braining" than something like Ling solos, while most videos just stick to the main abyssals you can just bring Mlynar, Texas, Yato, W2, medics, and so on to make it even more of a stomp; they form the core of the team just a lot of people like to use them as the only part of the team
@@Explosion_Mage I think that trend is what causes the misunderstanding.
4AH should be easier than a Ling Solo because it's four units. I wouldn't say it's easier than eg. Ling+Ines+Texas, though.
Similarly, many AH clears would actually be easier if you swapped one for a non-AH meta unit despite the synergy.
That said I'm hoping the Ulpi powerspike encourages some more mixed/personalized clears to emerge involving eg. 2AH + wildcard. Let the sad fish squad socialize!
@@hanjigbf just let people play with any team comp they want bro. if they can solo all maps using Ling only they’re cool, if they bring only AH squad because they like the faction they’re also cool.
@@bermudav4591 I agree with that (and bring Gladiia to every map myself 'cause she's neat), my point is the community tunnel-visions on AH as a squad when they have a lot to offer/explore as "normal" operators as well.

I've been a fan of Lumen+Specter for a while now. Specter's S2 is an incredibly strong skill, and just erasing the whole downside with Lumen S3 is pretty huge.

It seems that his S3 makes him the last deployed operator, judging by him being targeted by the artillery men despite Gladia having been deployed later.
The game probably literally doesn't have the tech to move an operator without removing and replacing it.
He turns Gladiaa into a cheerleader lol. Joke aside having Gladiaa as your buff is a good thing tbh cause she is free and a very good unit

I don't think there'll be defenders either. AH characters are hunters, it's in the name. I imagine they're all gonna be offense oriented.

Juggernaut AH would be extremely fitting. Also absurdly broken since Gladiia exists and every juggernaut already has some form of sustain, good health and defensive stats.
Introducing a third surviving AH captain which is an instructor could also make a lot of sense, someone that cheerleads the already synergistic squad while already being fairly dominant themselves could work well.
Reaper is also a non brainer, reaping the seaborne is their job and a spear/scythe is a fitting weapon for an AH.
Noticed how Ulpianus could have been all 3 of those? My man has scythe blades on his mace, is a captain and is always shown as the tough to kill guy out of the AH.

He’s good.
basically Ulpianus belongs to a faction called the Abyssal Hunters, every unit in that faction has factionwide buffs; Ulpianus in particular synergizes extremely well with the buffs provided by another AH, Gladiia, she provides damage reduction and HP regen based on max HP, he has extremely high HP but no defenses so this buff turns him from being somewhat fragile (no defenses hurt a lot despite his high HP) into extremely bulky and with insane AoE damage and the ability to teleport too, as he currently stands he is one of the game's best units
Basically, not top tier meta unit but still very good

People overreacting about "bAlaNcE" when it's a single player game. Either use him or not, that's it. It's the same story everytime a new op is released, either people think they're trash or OP as hell.
And these showcases compare bosses and ops atleast 3 years apart, ofcourse they'll do great. Wait a year or two and you'll call the "broken" ops now as trash too and complain about the new ones again.

He is a fine unit tbh. Kinda of a mix between a defender and a... hmm Executor Alter? Irdk Executor Alter seems to be better at laneholding here. This guy needs some attack speed buff because his damage doesn't oneshot the regular mob so there is a high chance a LOT will leak. Other than that seems to be Executor Alter but without the AOE and somewhat better sustain tbh. I don't think he can be compared to the top top tiers and def does not live up to his hype. Chengyue is prolly better tbh, if you have the effort to activate his skill 5 times.
He does 1 shot normal mobs in his afk skill (s2) but I agree that FedEx is probably better at laneholding. But he's more Akin to blaze tbh, where he has to charge his skill foe a period of time, very different from FedEx.
The Chongyue part is wrong though. This guy is in the "able to kill patriot phase 1 easily without mines" team. Chongyue needs the mines to do as meaningful damage and would only be better than Ulpian if the other boss stands there for ages. And chungus infamously require more babysit too.

Dude... Chongus need a blocker + healer to lanehold (or just healing defender). Ulp just need gladia to be able kill patriot. They arent even on the same powerlevel, i'd say he is stronger guard than exalt & zuo le
