One of the five songs performed by the members of Rhythm of Darussalam, representing Brunei, in the event of Southeast Asian Music Sessions (SEAMS) 2021, a medley piece of famous Bruneian folk song and children.

Rearranged as a medley song by Elisha Tiga, Alus Jua Dendang in the olden days is sung by a man to court a lady. The melody portrays a romantic setting where the lyrical "pantun" (poetic prose) that explains the beauty and grace of a Malay woman. This song is often performed in a wedding ceremony in Brunei.
In contrast, Cam Cam Brit is a well-known children's song. Unlike the romantic mood of Alus Jua Dendang, the tune is simpler and includes hints of playful banter and "teka teki", a Malay sort of riddle. It is used in children's activity such as playing hide and seek where similar to the Western's equivalent of rocks, paper and scissor, the Cam Cam Brit is used as a way to arrange who amongst the children will be 'it' before any play activity.
This rendition takes another influences of Blues, Jazzy chord elements, Neo Soul-like voicings, as well as Hip Hop beats. Although this version may sound modern-ish, Cam Cam Brit still plays homage to the original tune with its original lyrics and Alus Jua Dendang's traditional percussive beats.

Rhythm of Darussalam (ROD) is an independant traditional music group that gathers the young generation of Brunei Darussalam who are very keen to explore and improve their skills and knowledge, more importantly in Brunei Traditional Music i.e. local ethnic and culture of music and local instruments. All of them came from different backgrounds and ethnic groups of Brunei - for some may have formal education in music whilst others may inherit the legacy from their parents and elders. Altogether, they have learned and are still learning to experiment and further hone their skills in both traditional and modern variety of music by producing all new refreshing compositions to be heard not just inside the country, but also to the worldwide nation which is also part of promoting the importance of Brunei's cultural identity and sheer awareness of conserving old traditions and simultaneously creating a traversable interface to our new generation of all walks of life that those past traditions are still being preserved well.
