Back when I played this level years ago as a kid (when I had far more fun playing with cheats than without 🙃), I had discovered something about Player 3 (Italy) that I thought was nothing short of fascinating: It's entirely possible for Player 3 to build their own army and fend off Player 2 for you, but only if you send one or more of the really fast and OP cheat units to the rightmost area of the map where P2 is attacking P3. For whatever reason, P3's AI attempts to build all of their important structures (Barracks, Archery Range, Stable, Market, etc.) in front of P2's forces attacking them there, they completely ignore their own already-built Town Center elsewhere, and once P2 destroys any building P3 attempts to make before they finish, P3 won't ever try building it again, after which they're helpless without P1. (As of the date and time of me making this comment, I've only ever pulled off protecting any of P3's military structures with the cheats "reveal map", "no fog", "steroids", and a few uses of "big momma".)
In DE yellow can actually survive on its own sometimes and proceeds to build production buildings in the east, but it's also heavily dependent on how actively red attacks yellow.
I like your strategy so much in every campaign, i will glad to see your other videos of Campaigns i.e. Expansion 4 : the rise of Rome Rebirth 1st part and Expansion 4 : the rise of Rome Rebirth 2nd part
I hate it that some many times the games forces you to play "hide"... I tried walling off the shallows and wood patches and coverting his elephants but they break through in no time if he makes an invested attack...
I am back playing this game on hardest difficulty for the first time, I have made it to this level but keep losing, he attacks with heavy cat, heloposis, heavy horse archer, cataphract, before I can get good units such as these, I don't have the technology to kill him.
You should avoid him as ;ong as possible. Try to do your best to advance to Iron Age and to have the nessesariry resources as soon as possibe. You can also try a priest strategy (my another vid).
I am not being aggressive but he attacks early, I am only a little slower than you at getting to iron age, also he has a lot more units attacking italy all over the map
Thats what he said, you need to back yourself into a corner and hope for the best (reload if he detects u too early). What you can do in defense is 1 - wall off the shallows and the gaps between wood patches in the south and north respectively, and train priests and keep repairmen (and chariots) nearby. 2 - build docks in the far south lake and use war galleys or triremes to help protect your shallow wallings
In Definitive Edition you actually play this mission as Spartacus and protect freed slaves (yellow) from the Roman revenge. I was pretty surprised by the fact that freed slaves have already built their cities. This original mission clarifies everything.
I don't remember Spartacus having so many advanced siege weapons.
agree. moreover his army in the scenario is too advanced.
Agreed. That makes him a tad difficult to beat
Even in AOE Spartacus is easily underestimated

well played :) although Slave army starting in the post-iron age is kinda funny...
Press F for Spartacus :)

how you get that white writing showing population
F11
The AI seems to be pretty smart attacking like this
Nicely done. This was my favorite mission as a Kid:D
50 villagers at 6:56. WOW!
Just used this strategy in DE , it still works
Good game. Now a question: How to see the population amount and see the playing time under the resources?
F10 or F9 don’t remember exactly. Smth like that
@@Magnatio Thank you so much.

its spartacus is an smart guy.... you basically underestimate him as all romans do
How do you select all helepolis at only one click?
double click on a unit to select all its similar types currently on screen
The music is so different from my copy. Is this UPatch?
this is the original aoe soundtrack, i noticed this when i realized it was different to the soundtracks i was used to when i had the gold edition
I wish you played as Spartacus. Can't believe the game designers made you side with slave owners.
Every civ you can play as in this game owned slaves

Why do you kill all the deer at the same time? I'm sure you know, but you lose so much food it's not even funny.
+Taiyoumaru ^_^
It is a habbit. But when they are killed I build a storage pit and workers walk much less. So.... I do not know what is better.
:O
