Peugeot 404 Sedan. Dinky Toys No. 536. Full restoration. Made in France. Die-cast model.

The Peugeot 404 model was manufactured in France by the Dinky company. Production of the model began in 1960. First it was a Sedan. In 1962, this model was modified by adding an opening sunroof. The model also had a roof rack with skis and a one-wheeled trailer. Later, Dinky introduced the variant model in various versions. My packaging comes from the 533 model and was adapted for the 536 model. I also repaired the missing tires and sunroof. I had nowhere to borrow a roof rack to copy, so I made my version from PLA and ABS plastic. Thank you for watching the video, I publish car repair videos on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Another superb restoration!
I've never seen this model before, which is surprising, considering that it's one of the most iconic French cars of the 60s and made by Dinky France, so one would expect them to be very common. I do, however, have one of the Break versions from Atlas.
The roof-rack, skis, sunroof and trailer are so typical for models of this era, when Dinky and Corgi were constantly competing on new inventions to attract the attention of their young customers. Other models came with golf sets, suitcases, picnic tables and figures... and of course these small parts always got lost after 5 minutes, so I'm not all surprised you were unable to borrow these parts for your model... demonstrating how important it is that you always look for such extras at fleamarkets, where the sellers often have no idea what they are.

Good job. I got one 55 years ago and I still have it. The model with the skis rack went with a small monowheel trailer and a set of luggages. The narrow bars alongside the car was paint in chrome.

We had a very similar looking car on the roads in the 60s that looked very similar - Morris Oxford. Mostly two tone grey
Everything in the UK was monochrome until about 1977.
Then we got colour 😂

Liar! The Peugeot 404 model was a real car and not made by Dinky. I should know. My dad drove us all over Europe in Peugeot 404's. To the the south of France, up snowy passes in Austria, to Lake Garda in Italy. If this was a real model, I would be on the back seat.
