Eric im sorry to say but your son has no idea what hes talking about sushi in north america. He needs to explore more. I know hes young and experienced one thing and then thats everything there is. You can get every piece of sushi you just ate anywhere in the US and Canada

Great video Eric! DudesGotIt has definitely grown into himself over a year and its refreshing to see that he enjoys spending time with his dad because many youth are off doing their own thing and sometimes forget how special quality time is with your parents.

Yeah but he's saying there's no sushi in California ir miso soup. I lived in Japan town in San Jose California and we had a restaurant just like that with all of those kinds of sushi.

Really enjoyed the video. My son texted it to me and now we are planning on a sushi trip this summer. He has always said no before to sushi so I am very excited.
Every time I go to sushi I am able to eat and enjoy more varieties. Hated fish when I first came to Japan, but now I love it. Sushi is one of my favorite meals as is for many Japanese too. It`s a special dining experience.

I've never had sushi, always been afraid of the raw fish but you guys make it look so tasty, I'm gonna try it now!!!!

Sushi is the rice actually. And cooked fish is usually the main thing in it depending on where where you get it from. Sashimi is usually the raw, or very thinly sliced meat. But that said the raw fish is very well prepared, and usually frozen just to kill off the bad bacteria then thawed for use. It is completely safe both with raw or cooked fish and the restaurants know what they are doing!

@@ericsurf6 I've had Sushi many times before, the most-recent was a few months or so when we ordered from hybrid place and I had Tamago, Kani and Unagi Nigiri. It was so good.

You can definitely find really good sushi in the US. I'm going to go as far as saying it rivals Japan's. Is a huge deal in the USA now. And Asian markets in general are some of the best markets in the USA with amazing product.
I wish I knew where to find good sushi also here in the States but at Whole foods the sushi is so dry and not fresh and even the seaweed says that it has some chemical that causes cancer!
Yelp for the nearest Japanese restaurant or sushi bar. Whole Foods does not sell sushi. Not acceptable sushi anyway.

I'm visiting my bro next week (he moved out and lives in cardiff or so) and he is going to make me some sushi! He also works as a chef in the Yo! Sushi restaurant in cardiff too! (tho i haven't visited there yet!)
I'm from Vancouver, BC, so we have some pretty solid sushi up here. However, I get so jealous when I see how good the tuna is in Japan and how much I miss it. It was one of my favorites when I visited. But here, tuna is like the cheapest, lowest quality fish you can get.

Hi Eric The first time I ever tried Sushi I thought the Green Stuff (Wasabi)in a bowl the waiter brought to the table was Guacamole.Took my spoon and took Big Huge Heaping Spoonful and ate it I was crying a river.

not nessisarily. I have a sushi place thats all you can eat sushi near me for $20 and its pretty much on the same level as japanese, sometimes a little less fresh. But I think he just has not looked hard enough.
