- In this episode of Central Hall, Kapil Sibal discusses with a panel of leading independent-minded lawyers the problem of sitting judges developing political links. Recently, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay quit the Calcutta High Court and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. While on the bench too, his judgments, obiter and interviews generated controversy. How should the legal community respond in such cases? And is it ever possible to insulate the judiciary from politics? Listen in to Sibal’s conversation with Meenakshi Arora, Prashant Bhushan and Dushyant Dave.

@suriyhaprakhas356
Not only frustrated, despite being sold-out, Deep State Stooges they are wondering about _WHY_ Soros's might is not working, that's why they are frustrated. 🤣🤣
Quality should be preferred over quantity bro
Having got used to godi media for a long time, this conversation is so refreshing. They are able to speak freely and express differences respectfully.
Differ with Bhushan on unfounded fear. Hope he remembers Justice Loya.
Yes but I agree with Bhushan otherwise we will become another Iran Russia China. As Dushant mentioned someone has to pay a price for Honesty.
Best Panel of Legal Minds
Thanks for bringing brilliant minds on this platform. Carry on Mr. Kapil 👌👏👏
The finest minds of the legal profession. It is a treat listening to them.
Good comment 👍
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Wonderful ! Three Legends on one platform!
If india wins remove all of them and send them home along with BJP and team.
To whom you don’t consider a legend? 😅
Four legends
Wonderful panel🎉 regards.🙏
We need more courageous lawyers and judges. Hope these conversations are seen by other senior judges and lawyers including the Chief Justices of States.
Very Informative discussion Thank you 🙏🏻
Seeing them,I can understand how India was ruled by foreigners for 1000yrs

The wire ko aabhar dil se , is show ko host kerne ke liye
Ms. Arora hit the nail on the head when she talked about character building. Schools used to teach students about morals, obeying, respect and the importance of the law, in addition to fairness to our fellow beings. Somewhere we seem to have lost our path and are following a blind urge to make or save money at all costs, with the result that we as a civil society give less importance to rules, laws and even our fellow beings, shunning all notions of fairness. I think our "education" system has completely failed us, and we are seeing the results, where "might is right" and everything else be dam ned.
Yes, you are right.
Very nicely put
More than anything, the past ten years of the bjp in power has been singularly responsible for bringing down the level of morality in people by their unjust actions !
This country will live grateful to these people who are blowing the whistle when things are going wrong . I respect their courage and their attitude in sailing against the tide.
All are legends...... dignified.....lovable and best humans.
Masterpiece
I am learning what learned discussion looks like. Thank you, Sibal shahb
Very knowledgeable and informative discussion.🙏🙏🙏
What an educative talk, thank you the Wire
Watch from 14:30 to 17:01 - Real gentleman's -- how respectfully disagree and come to the logical conclusion of the argument. Hats off!
only episodes i wait for nowadays.
Very good discussion.
Thanks to the participants and The Wire for bringing such nice discussions.
Very good and balanced discussion. The message is very positive and solution oriented. This discussion should be forwarded to the SC judges.
I also happen to agree with Prashant Bhusan. This psychological fear of repercussions like demotion must be avoided as the public are in support. As Prashant pointed out he continues in his path to the Truth and the Constitution. If the named judges did not achieve success in the careers , a personal altruistic success surely trumps that.
Thank you team WIRE for such informative and educative talk... Such productive dialogues and discussion s are very important for healthy democracy.
Enlightening. Dignified panel. Love, respect and regards from Kerala ❤
A very thought provocating discussion. Thanks you all.
It's a pleasure to see Kapil Sibbal in a different role 😊
Ask these superbright folks why so many poor people are in our jails because they cannot afford the bail money. Money-based bail, I submit, is not constitutional. Your witness Shree Arora, Bhushan, Dave, and Sibal.
Very important conversation. Needs to be shared and discussed widely in high schools and colleges.
Thank you, Sirs
And Madam hahaha
Very important discussion for Indian democracy and I think we should all know for all Indian citizens.
Brilliant discussion and pleasure having such a amazing minds.

Honest, dedicated and committed people. It was so refreshing listening to them.
Bless you all
May God protect you and give you the strength and health to fight this evil
Sibal Sir great endeavor and initiative bring on more such initiatives
Excellent.
We want more of this kind of discussion on every facet of life. Let the leaders of civil society come forward and take the lead. General people will be the beneficiaries.
Very important discussion I ever heard before. Thanks so much to all eminent personality.
All four of you are excellent in the field of justice and your views are fiercely independent. Ms Meenakshi Arora's decision not to accept judgeship in the SC is commendable. Earlier one is used to mention it as Honourable Supreme court but of late, it has lost the confidence of the general public.
Wonderful. Salam . for this. Knoowledge
You forgot the name of Arun Misra who was appointed head of human rights commission fot favouring Adani in 40 odd cases.
They have mentioned about Mr Arun Mishra's appointment to NHRC.
Having such farsighted Judges and similar personalities in Rajya Sabha is necessary. This is how it should be and, is in the Rajya Sabha equivalent of many developed countries countries.Helps in unbiased criticism of the Lok Sabha.
Exactly what Ms. Arora says. No character building at school level. In convent school in the earlier times they had moral education and what is ethically good and what was bad. But today we find only sucessful people coming out of schools but not ethically strong ones.
ok can i higlight this comment!
Excellent discussion. Scared for the future of this country.
This kind of conversation really appreciate particular this time . Thanks to wire .
Wow, Dave sir. You said what needs to be said.

I am a big fan of Mr.Kapil .

As long a the executive is part of the appointments, it will not work well for the Judiciary.
Salute!
Thanks Sibal sir awesome program and panel hats off to you
Good discussion.....
Very good discussion among legal luminaries. Thanks.
Mr. Kapil Sibal has given us excellent platform for exploring the inside of judiciary and the legal process. Thank you.
This panel has more credibility than entire Indian judiciary

Real lover of judiciary
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Salute to all of you
You can become god of future india
Very good and eye opening discussion. Let there be more such discussions for the public to know the reality.
Topic of vital importance for point of good bad or corrupt governanceqqq
These honest people can never, never be bought. Top lawyers do not want to become a judge as it is a drop in their pay!!!!
Didn't press the like icon because the first sentence is true but the spoiler is "drop in pay". It is comments like this about Money which must avoided at all costs. Why do you think people do not have altruistic reasons to rejecting an appointment but only Money. If honest people can't be bought then why do you accuse them of rejection based on money.
Hi Meenakshi...nice to see you and love it
Positive, informative and inspirational talks. Extra ordinary minds.
Fantastic debate
If any society raises women like Meenakshi Arora. That society will be an ideal society
Salute you Mam ❤
Very meaningful discussion. Truly appreciate it

I only feel, had it been understood by common people.
Great conversation
This is incredible interview. Indian judiciary is fully being exploited. I'm watching from California. Please keep on protecting the Indian democracy.
Fair opinions on legal matters❤
Congratulates to people like u sir for working in the direction of truth and humanity tirelessly !
I appreciate Mr. Dave's remarks that giving rewards to Judges after their retirement is nothing but corruption
Very enlightening conversation Yes all is not lost!!
Dave साहब एकदम सही बोल रहें हैं।
Dave Saab Very Nice Speech by U
Mr. Kapil Sibal Sir...Super unbiased conversation with leading senior advocates. Watching Dil Se right from first episode. Subjects chosen for conversation with participants of high dignity are of much relevance in the present scenario in the national interest. Thanks & look forward to the next episode.
It is heartening to learn that people from the Bar are conscious of their duties to preserve the constitution and the welfare of people as against the fascist government
Thank you Wire, Kapil Sir, Meenakshi Arora Ma'am, Prashant Bhushan Sir, and Dushyant Dave Sir.
Wish DD should do such programs
I have done my part, liked and shared it on all Social Media
Let the bar associations be aware of the issue and take appropriate steps to clean the judicial system
The favour given to these judges and bureaucrats post retirement age of 60. This is injustice to unemployed Indians. Youth should step up to show this govt their thoughts
These are the humans worth born for. Bravo.
Extraordinary discussion on judiciary..
need of the hour. Class
Preventing corruption in India's judiciary demands a holistic approach. Strengthening accountability, judicial reforms, transparency measures, ethics training, whistleblower protection, financial disclosure, tech integration, civil society oversight, legal frameworks, and judicial independence are key. 🇮🇳
Thanks so much to Kapil Sibbal for the excellent presentation. Judges should always be neutral, fair, impartial and a mindset of their own with real logic as their base. Having leanings to any political leader is a personal choice but should never be exhibited in public. In this world there are only two religions and that is Spirituality and other is Materialism as spoken by the Great Vivekananda Swamy. Logic is the biggest asset of any Judge, since this cuts across all religions and has no boundaries. If there happens to be some Judge who favours some political party with ulterior motives then it is very unfair and bad.
Very impressive, judicious and wonderful discussions. Salute to all. Request to carry on frequently to uphold democracy.
Thanks for the very nice discusstion
Great conversation about current state of judiciary...
As democracy,
Judiciary is at low point except CJI current
🙏🏻🙏🏻
4 Gems 💎
Thank you so much dear Sirs and Ma'am, for this detailed insight into the topic. Most of us common people would trust your word and judgement much more than any other person or RUclipsr out there. You all have an immense influence on today's youth and I'm sure most of us would hold our own beacon of change and not let your work go to waste. 🙏🇮🇳
I am proud of you all to fight against a crucial dectatratre
Kapil how many judgements of Abhijit Ganguli were set aside by Supreme Court?
just wow, how they know to listen is amazing ❤
May your conversation bring a positive change.
THE JUDICIARY SHOULD BE THE DEFENDER OF DEMOCRACY.
HATS OFF TO MR SBAL AND PARTICIPANTS OF THIS DISCUSSION.
Very knowledgeable discussion.
I hope these points brought up by these learned and respected gentlemen are spread all over the country 🙏
Could we include Ladies too. The Lady discussed a very important point about parents being challenged by their children. I did in the late sixties.
