When you are inside the Stroke Properties, you can change the blending modes to Overlay right inside that. You don't have to convert it into a smart object and then change the layer's blending mode. Quick Tip 😁

I created a document 1920x1080, 300 resolution, cmyk. And as I follow along, my effects are not looking at all like yours after the 3rd step where we create a motion blur for the first time. Could it be because I brought a font in from illustrator and in doing so it automatically made it a smart object? I'm trying to create a book title for a 6x9'' bookcover, so maybe 300 resolution is too high? Thank you.

Judging by speed your Mac calculates the effects and 190MB document size - your resolution is for sure not 1920x1080. With 8K resolution and 300dpi I am getting 93MB usage. So what was your resolution for this tutorial?
As soon as I do the first stroke from centre at size 30 it goes huge, I have literally mirrored your video, same font, same size canvas etc. Any reason why it's doing this?
I see that others have asked this question, but it's never been answered. Motion blur doesn't work at all the same way when I try it. The entire outline just fuzzes out, it doesn't create those trails that you have. What's going on?
