I tried to propagate my Monstera (the last piece that I could save of the full plant that died on the past heat wave 😢) on water, but it started to rot. I have had so many succesful propagations on water, but never with a Monstera (it's a new species for me). I chopped the rotting part and let it dry. Yesterday I planted it in soil mix for Monsteras! I hope it will be succesful this time. I'm so sad about that plant dying 😢 I have another one and it's so happy, giving me new leaves and all. I'm just propergating my albo for the first time and this is helpful, thanks so much for making this video! With the water - do you want it to cover everything (the node, auxillery bud, aerial root etc)? I'd be interested to see how you potted your top cutting too, I'm guessing it's less on it's side? Thanks for the help!
I’m so glad you liked the video! I had the water cover all of the aerial root and the node. My top cutting ended up with two nodes since the upper-most node didn’t have an aerial root- so I only had the lower node in the water. I’d recommend only cutting a node if it has an aerial root present- I haven’t had consistent luck with nodes without aerial roots.
