Great cover, totally in the groove, not over-played at all. As others commented, the ghost notes really make it, and not an easy thing to do and stay so solidly in the pocket, especially on the double-time snare bits.
Thank you for your kind support. I can tell by the details of your comment that you are a drummer, and probably a fine one too. I love the "gallop" feel of this groove. Admittedly, I am just COPYING the genius who played on the original. Thanks again!
Wow that was really good. I've seen some covers without the ghost notes and I knew to get that rolling feel there had to be something like that going on. Thanks for sharing!
your amazing i love this Al Green cover and your cover to Player - baby come back (of course your other videos too) ..!!! awesome stuff love the old school stuff ..! keep it up :)
+Jessie Vakaliwaliwa Thank you for watching and for your kind support. I gravitate to the old school music because of my age AND because the music back then was and is interesting to play.
+Steve Tocco no worries im 24years old but i prefer listening to old school music and i totally agree when you say music from your era is interesting to play .!! just one request . . . can you do a drum cover to some of the EAGLES classics ?? "One of these Nights" ???? your awesome going to keep watching your stuff .!!
+Jessie Vakaliwaliwa The EAGLES!!! How could I forget about them??? You're right!! Out of 200+ drum covers I don't have any songs by the Eagles. Great suggestion. I'll definitely get something uploaded soon. Thanks again!
+Jessie Vakaliwaliwa I recorded Life In The Fast Lane a couple days ago but haven't uploaded it yet. I'm not sure if it will go through because some of the most popular songs are blocked on RUclips. I'll post it later today. Thanks!!
Sick. I have a gig tonight. I'm a pro player but sitting in with a band I typically don't play the style of. Obviously heard this song a million times, but could not figure out how to get the little extra ooomf. It's really in that right foot. Thank you
I don't use drumless tracks on my drum cover videos...I just play along with the original recording. My drums "cover" the original drums. Good luck with your drumming!
Nice job and fine tribute to Al Jackson Jr.'s groove.
Thank you!!

Thank you, Reverend D! The ghost notes are the salt, pepper and seasonings that make this groove so tasty and fun to play.
@@SteveToccoDrummer The 'ghost notes' everyone keeps talking about is a conga part played by Howard Grimes, look it up
@@armantamzarian7852 I looked it up and found a blog post that agrees with you, but to my ears they sound more like a floor tom

I don't use drumless tracks on my drum cover videos...I just play along with the original recording. My drums "cover" the original drums. Good luck with your drumming!
