Enjoyed this video. I had one as a Xmas present in 1982 when I was 14, purchased from Dixons. It was one of the best stereos around at the time. Kept it until the CD players came out and my father got rid of it. (Not a good move ) Now I’m 53 and bought one off EBay a couple of months ago as I found a load of my old cassettes, I don’t know I was feeling nostalgic. Got it serviced by a local firm for £60 and fair play it sounds great for its age.
I have one of these and I have to say Sharp put a lot of effort into making them as good as they could in the early 1980s. There is no reason why this 40 year old radio cannot offer good service for many decades to come. They were not cheap in 1981/82/83
yeah i have exactly the same stereo , owned it since 1985 and still in regular use with no problems. all my cassettes are worn out so i use a blue tooth cassette and play from my phone and laptop so it stands the ravages of time haha
Mate i have had mine since 85 and i use the bluetooth cassette as well exactly like yourself but i am thinking of making a battery pack for mine to modernise it just a little
Nice stereo i like the sharp models i have 3 sharps the gf 9090 from 1979 being the main favorite i went a bit mad at one point so have some hitachi 3d superwoofers a sanyo s memorex cd- 3300 made for tandys only cost 99p and sounds better than i ever thought it would .
Yes i have one, had it for 38 years and still works as good as the day i bought it not like the crap you can buy today. from dixons was £250.00. 45w power it has balls.
I recently bought myself on eBay a Sharp GF-4343. Disappointingly the cassette recording is not very good but certainly it plays well and feels very nostalgic. I have a review of it on my channel. I do like all the retro stuff I do have a couple of modern things I have to say nothing compares to the old well built and stuff. Thank you for your review. That beat Cut switch you were talking about means that whenever you are recording from a station such as a.m., sometimes you get a birdie whistle like sound when you press record. That switch apparently from what I heard are supposed to eliminate and remove that sound. So your cassette recorder is what they call AC bias which means it is pretty good quality.

That looks so cool mate, definitely something I want for the shelf eventually 😍😍.
Awesome😀. I've got a similar boombox, but it likes to eat tapes at the moment.
This one seems to be ok. I'm gonna try and take it apart to clean it and hopefully put it back together again.
I have the same 1 given to me my late uncle 2015
