Beautiful edit. Though the plot had the usual political upheaval and vengeance as the theme I watched the whole drama because of the couple and their chemistry. From ‘ I hate you to I can’t live without you’ the couple really had awesome character growth. In Chinese dramas where breaking up because of misunderstandings or I am doing this for your own good and don’t want you to suffer is the norm, I liked that they stuck together through everything thrown in their way. Absolute trust in each other and growing to be worthy of each other was a pleasure to watch. I loved how Juisi went from being a rich gambling playboy to a responsible official working for the people and how Yuru went from wanting to be a nobleman’s timid housewife to an ambitious businesswoman
From novel to drama, there's really something about this couple's growth and willingness to protect and die for each other that makes it so bittersweet. It aches but too beautiful to missed💕
I ❤ the character growth of both the main leads. His declaration at 3:50 and getting that apology for her at 5:35 was 🫠❤️. Ahhhh….7:48 the ultimate commitment 🥺❤️….Glad to know they have a happy ending.
that whole apology scene was like 15 min long or so and was so dramatic and heartbreaking to watch T_T but to see his determination to get justice for her and provide justice to everyone else for his actions was really moving, not holding himself above the law was super refreshing to see

errrrrrr im in the withdrawal stage. just finished this drama this morning, 6 AM 😂😂😂 ML is definitely sweet talkers, lot plenty tons of his lines made my heart flutter and blushed for no reason My fav scene was them in the desert, 8:15, Jiusi said something like "You're my life. Dont abandon me"😢😢😢 also 8:20 when he ran bare foot just to come to his wife. Was the most beautiful morning shoot 11:14 she said something like "From now on, love me less okay?" 😢😢😢

it was a pretty cute drama! almost too much fluff for me haha since i prefer more serious shows but then things got dark and then I was like...wait...no let's go back to the fluff XD
yeah tbh i almost dropped this one around ep 5-ish because it was just too fluffy for me haha but i knew there was drama and action around the corner so i stuck with it and then i really enjoyed it after the first little arc was over!

I can understand your point of view with them seeming young. and in the beginning they really should be and it suits their story, but since the actors don't age as the years go by in the story (haha imagine that!) i can see it being harder to grasp the level of their growth :) but it doesn't have a sad ending at all! they are happily married with a kid!

it's a happy ending! so I guess I must have rushed the ending a bit (and I was trying to condense the story down as short as i could :/ ) so a few ppl have asked if it's happy or not haha, but yeah it's a happy ending! when the lady hands him the make up tin that he bought for the FL when he first "confessed" his feelings to her, he knew that she was alive because he left it in her coffin for her and then she's runs into his arms and the scenes in between is a few years later after they have a son and are living happily ever after :D this show tbh was almost too! fluffy for me haha but i knew some epic battles were coming so i stayed with it, plus i love Bai Jing Ting for some reason haha he's just adorable XD
