    I absolutely love this game. Its a great game to fire up when you just want to play a VR shooter for a half hour or so. The graphics are good (better than most VR games) and the overall gunplay feels great. There is lots of content here. I've already spent about 50+ hours in this game and I am still enjoying it.

      Agree, 130 hours on it, 95% SSS, REALISM MODE only, music off, standing position, real life crouching n taking cover is fkin awsome, a lot of content, good price... mission 'tough fight' r imposible on realism mode solo on SSS rate, lololo

    I had no idea this was on PC, the graphics are so good I always assumed it was PSVR only as we don't get many polished PCVR games anymore.

    A mix of Call of Duty and Time Crisis is actually how I've been describing this game! I too am one of those that was very disappointed on release, but the game grew on me and I've been playing it quite a bit. The guns feel great, though Quest 2 controllers have a really weird off-axis rotation for certain guns that makes you hands feel wrong. Realism mode is a great idea, but the AI is so basic and they continue throwing enemies at you that will even run right past you only to turn around and shoot you from their predetermined position. This makes it really weird because they're not acting "realistically" at all. I do only play on easy and realism modes though, because they're the only modes where enemies aren't wild bullet sponges. Big props for having an actual campaign and level design, and they've made grinding enjoyable with the squad missions. I'm really glad I came around on this game! Looking forward to a couple patches and fixes to get things a little better, and otherwise I'll just be waiting for a single player shooter to come out that's a VR version of Call of Duty rather than a better version of Crisis Brigade 2

      I have exactly the same opinion as you, especially the sponge and time crisis part...that is why I wasn't as amazed as I wanted to be by this game. Did you find any other single player military shooter that is worth in VR ?

    • @CFTStheband
      @CFTStheband 9 месяцев назад

      @@rogermorse_ No unfortunately I haven't. I haven't played all the milsim shooters, but to me Contractors is the one with the best combination of weapon handling and enemy reaction to being shot. It's shame there's no proper campaign as I don't really care to play online or PvP. Hopefully next year brings some good things and Contractors 2 or Zero Caliber 2 will be more fun. For now I'm waiting on Geronimo to scratch that itch. It's crazy though because even though it's super arcadey, with just a few tweaks Crossfire SS could be so good!

  • @Hoshi82
    @Hoshi82 11 месяцев назад +2

    Was pleasently suprised by Crossfire. Turned out really good after all the updates. With reshade and some ini tweaks you can make it look even better. Made a comparsion video of it.

    One thing I’ll say for them to add is well like you said manual reloading because I probably won’t like the animation (I don’t have the game) and the option to add gore with a shotgun or sniper and some blood like call of duty when you shoot someone with any weapon.

    Great review here. I agree that it is better than other content creators are giving it credit for, I actually held off trying it out due to some of their negative reviews. I’ve just bought the game yesterday and only put in a couple hours so far but I’m really enjoying it. I really like the reload mechanics as I’m not a huge gun fanatic and manual reloads aren’t make or break for me. I like metal so I’ll leave the music on, but I’m glad a few content creators have shed light on the fact that the game is actually a lot of fun because some of the other big creators I think could potentially have hurt the sales of this game, and vr devs need as many people to try their games as possible if the industry is going to grow… turning people off a game right off the bat seems counterintuitive to me especially for a game like this which is actually really fun and a great way to play a few quick rounds if you want to kill an hour

  • @WikiPeoples

    The main issue I have with this game is how they handle gun interactions. On the index, you have to grip way too hard, to keep the gun in your hands. As a result, the gun constantly pops back to my chest. Also, the whole auto-snap-offhand-to-barrel thing is just unecessary and janky feeling and sometimes the gun gets locked into a weird angle. I assume this is some stabilization scheme they have, but that shit needs to be able to disable.
    The reload animations are fine, and the rest of the game quality is top notch. Its a shame that gun handling is so fucked though.

    • @virtualinsider
      @virtualinsider  11 месяцев назад +2

      I uploaded a custom profile in the steam vr binding for the index which fixes the dropping weapons issue. You can adjust how much the hand snaps to the barrel in the options by turning down the intesity. I have it at one bar.

      @virtualinsider Fair doos. Are they bigger in scale than the campaign missions? I desperately wanted to like this game as the trailers made it look like a COD VR game but the tiny levels and constant yellow line telling you exactly where to go really broke the game for me. I think it has a tonne of a potential but fell way short of what they advertised.
