With SR it’s not even the limiter it’s people that over rev them and they spit the rockers. The Team Burst cars are all SR, limiter abused and driven hard all the time. It’s all in the tune and rev range. Here in Australia we have a guy who you give him a sr, a nistune ecu and he has them dialed to run 350/400 all day on limiter and won’t die. The same guy tuned Adam LZ Australian 180sx for reference.

Interesting🤔 Do you also think many people blow SR's because they don't have safety parameters tuning them on old ECUs like powerFCs.

@ 110% man just not knowing how to tune them and keep them safe. That plus wanting to use technology that’s now 20yrs old like PowerFC and Apexi SAFC setups. It seems to be a USA thing. Same as RB. For some reason they just don’t seem to work for/with US tuners. Your RB swap seems like it’s been a pain in the ass. Here in Aus they’re common as, that common I’d be able to give you a high mount t3 manifold for free and I wouldn’t even miss it.

I have also thought that Z33s should be rear sump for the inline six. I think the issue with JZ is the rear sump's uppers have so much ribbing that they would get in the way so I think some of it would require the aluminum ribbing to be cut off. If it was a stamped steel pan I think it would work. Also in the case of the JZ, you could probably then get rid of the weird remote shifters on the Z and use something similar to the OEM Mk3 supra shifter (if using r154) or the s13 extended shifter for r154. If using a Z transmission I think you could probably use the shifter for them in s13/s14 because the engine is farther back.

@@circleofdrift I was looking at the Z recently when a friend disassembled a whole mangled car to a clean chassis and it looks like the Z was being designed to take either the RB with a rear sump or the VG which is also rear sump. I kind of think the reason it's front sump is for one, the extra firewall but mostly because the CD009 is so massive that to fit it in the tunnel would have required a much bigger trans tunnel and upset the floor pan too much. Like a T56 isn't as massive as the CD009. And the CD is probably that big because the bellhousing is because it has a Dual Mass flywheel. Why? Maybe because the VQ creates a lot of NVH. Just some thoughts I have had. The VQ is the only reason I don't like the 350Z.

6boost turbo manifold is the best for RB’s btw
