Great video mate. Nice to see great workmanship with some forward thinking and pride in what you do. Keep it up and look forward to some follow up videos. All the best.
definitely do a walk through of the 80 series single cab, would be good to see specially if you can mount the camper on the back aswell. Keep the vids coming
Nice fitout. I am jealous of all the extra room you have with an S8 compared to my S4. My build allows for the toilet to be accessed from a cushion on the seat, which saves the weight of a slide. I note the CDH seems to be mounted vertically? Mine is too, but all the experts told me it would not work. It does work, and is certainly more efficient spacewise, at least in my setup. Looking forward to the electrical fitout.
Cheers David! Yea the S8 definitely is spacious 😁. Our heater is actually mounted horizontally. That's interesting that they can work vertically though!!!
You could put a shower awning on the back door or above the door when it’s open, close to the hot water, It would be a nice addition. Love the vids man keen to see some more on the 80 and your gu canopy fit out
Hi, thanks for sharing. I am looking at slide on campers for a 79 Landcruiser at the moment and with lockdown it's pretty difficult seeing these in person, so I have appreciated the time taken. Regards
Cheers for the vid, pick up our S6X soon and got some good ideas from you, esp. the fly screen idea! Saw another bloke had some small shelves just inside the rear door, might be an idea for you.
@@house-ofhoon You have put a lot of work into reconfiguring the Tommy and your workman ship looks top notch. I am thinking of purchasing a Tommy S8x and will contact you re conversion if you interested?. Cheers
well done. very informative. I wonder how the canvas and bedding goes if packed wet? it would be good to see also if the 270 batwing awning weatherproofs the back door durning rain.?
Cheers mate! We havnt had it out in the rain yet so can't comment on either of those yet. Once it's all finished and tested in the real world, I'll be doing a shorter video on everything and I'll include those two points you mentioned. Thankyou!
Can you make a video of it on the vehicle please? There's not much to choose from in this type of pop top campers in Australia, is there? I've just bought a RAM with a 6'4" tub and I'm looking at either slide on or bolt on arrangement. 🇦🇺
Will definitely do a video of it on the cruiser mate. Just need to get some spare time. There are a couple of brands available here, not all of them are of the best quality though. Having the 6'4" gives you lots of options!
The mozzie net can be purchased through Tommy Campers. If you mean our flyscreen frame, send me an email to sales@houseofhoon.com.au with some details of which camper you have and your address if you require shipping etc.
@@house-ofhoon We are looking at the S6 although haven't actually purchased it yet, but once we have I would be interested in purchasing one of your frames. I live in Brisbane, what would be the cost?
Loose sloppy canvas by the looks of it. Disappointing as I was looking at these. Stitching also looks bloody average. Apart from that the platform as a whole is spot on!

Much appreciated mate 👍

Cheers Damien. The camper fits great on it 😁 I'll get a video of the 80 sorted 🙂

Cheers mate! Plenty more coming 😁

Thanks for watching! That is a great idea! Thanks 😊
I don’t care if you make a video on the 80 or anything, just more stuff! Haha good video mate
🤣 haha! Cheers Tim! Got plenty more coming!
Awesome setup, considering selling my off road van now.
Thankyou! It's definitely easier than towing 😊
Are you doing a walk through of the finished camper as I am very interested in what you have done. Cheers
I definitely will mate. I'm just lacking in time at the moment unfortunately

Would it be to much to ask to see the finished product?
Cheers mate! Yea, gives us a yell when the time comes 👍
Amazing camper. It almost turns your 4WD into a mini caravan.
It really does! The parents didn't want to tow anymore, so this was the perfect solution 😁
Good build, where are you holding the spare tyre/s?
Thanks! We keep the spare tyre in the factory location under our 80 series.
Well now that you mention the 80… we’re all going to wait for that video to drop 👍🏾
Haha coming right up good sir!
great looking setup, very liveable. Any ideas on the weight?
Cheers. Sure is very livable 😁 dry weight is around 350kg when it leaves Tommy Campers

THANK YOU FOR VIDEO
LIKE WHERE ARE PUT IN COOKING UNIT INTO TOMMY CAMPERS S8
Cheers mate 🥂
Where does the diesel heater inlet / exhaust run?
The inlet is under the camper and the exhaust is out the side wall
Is there a way of stelth sleeping inside without popping lid?
I mean it would be possible. However, comfortable? Not in the slightest lol

@@house-ofhoon I've only seen Tommy, Northstar, Islander (in my state of Tassie) and Palamino. Any others you can mention?
MW also does a camper model
Looks good would love to see it on the 80
Thanks mate. I'll get that arranged 👍
THANKS for the idea's
No dramas 🤙 Happy camping!
How far does the bed overhang from the front all.
Good video, truthful.
Cheers David. The bed overhangs around 1metre
how do I purchase the mozzie screen for the rear door?

Hi Ian. If you would like to discuss pricing, please send through an email to the previously mentioned email address
How much did it cost
Prices can be found on the Tommy Campers website 👍
@house-ofhoon No it can't you have to enquire
2 years ago when I wrote that comment, you could. A lot of things can change in 2 years
Lets see the 80!!!!
Once we finish a few more things on it, I'll be doing a walkthrough of it 😁

No issues experienced with the canvas so far ☺️
