So far, my friend Sara has come with me to some smaller faires, however this is the biggest one she has been to and the first time visiting the NorCal Renaissance Faire! She dressed up as a scarecrow🎃, and I was an autumn fairy 🧚♀️

Did you use a lens filter to achieve the hazy look?? I'm a photographer and I've been wanting to experiment with this vibe!
So some of the haziness comes from my color grading and editing - I tend to crush my whites and blacks since I don’t like extreme contrast and I add a romantic and red halation plugin to make it look like film- however I also have 3 filters stacked on my lens 😂 a black mist filter which also fuzzes out the highlights and makes them glow, a variable ND filter so I don’t have to mess with my aperture when it’s super sunny, and a recently got a set of star filters that pick up the shimmers. I have the lowest intensity one on the lens for a subtly but may experiment with the others. My lens is also my newest baby - my 35mm Canon RF lens that has stabilization built in. Before I used a 28mm for vlogging which I love but the 35 is so much smoother. My OG 35mm, which is still great for photo since it’s a sigma art series lens (EF with an RF adapter), is super heavy and doesn’t have stabilization. So happy with this new lens,though it’s not as high quality glass as the sigma lens (the bokeh on the sigma is amazing, but it’s too shaky for video).

Oh man, I was so glad when I saw you were able to get in. This is my home Faire and I follow their socials. I saw that they sold out on Saturday and was worried!
lol yeah that was my bad. We kept telling each other to get the tickets then neither of us did 😂 but the lady who gave me her extra ticket saved me, then my husband and the group we met got in just in time before they were fully out of the ticket booth tickets.

@@moysoyjoy yeah we both tried to buy them on the way and I guess they had sold out by then because the website wouldn’t load. I thought my signal was bad, but everything else was loading. I guess the website crashed after they sold out or something
This was my home faire back when it was up in Blackwood (hope I'm remembering that correctly). Have been halfway across the country since '95, thank you for the walk down memory lane!

I saw in one of your videos you mentioned a Folsom Renfaire and I gasped thinking mayhaps I could go this year… only to learn it had happened the weekend prior.
I know this one has one more weekend to go, but I happen to work both days….I’ll have to plan better for next year! And snatch up any little festival that will scratch the itch in the meantime.

I am so happy to see this, I've been curious about this faire since seeing it promoted on FB. And the weather right now couldn't be better. It's not scorching hot for a change. Unfortunately we are moving & everything is packed up so 😢 But I will enjoy it vicariously thru your video 😊
I work at both the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire and the Koroneburg Renfest and this video was fun being able to see a lot of my artisan friends that work those faires and Northern.😊
I work at mainly east coast faires and I still saw some folks I recognized! 🖤
Casa de Fruita is/was my home faire. I miss it so much.
I haven't been to Northern Faire since it was at Blackpoint and we're going to Casa tomorrow for closing day. I am pretty chuffed.
At the MDRF you need to get your tickets ASAP because they sell out weeks out!

We got it off Amazon a few years ago, it’s the hard shell Breath of the Wild Zelda shield backpack. Cant find the same one we bought on Amazon anymore but there is a soft shell one that is similar.

Have you gotten to go to Texas Renaissance Festival yet? We just went for Opening Weekend, and are planning to go back for Priate Weekend in 2025. Happy to share some camp space, and the Jolly Rogers offered to let us camp with them when we go back, which is in the middle of everything, camp-wise

@DressMeUpScotty according to my research, Bristol is now the 2nd biggest and Minnesota and Maryland are tied for 3rd.
I go to the Opening Saturday of Minnesota every year (I have a vibes vid of it up on my channel), coinciding with my yearly fabric-buying pilgrimage. I know offers of transport and housing from randos on the internet should be regarded suspiciously, but legit if you want to go to a thing I'm going to, I can usually offer at least transport. (Hubs is a professional driver.) I can 1000% commiserate with using events as content and all the foibles and woes that go along with.
I may or may not have watched so many of your ren faire videos that I googled "Ren Faire Mississippi." I'm only getting dates for 2023 though. I guess it's not meant for me to be a fairy.😭
