Just a few things:
Try not to start your rotation with a CS. Since glaive toss needs some time to reach the target, cast it shorty before the pull to safe a gcd.
As far as I'm concerned, even with the trinket, it doesn't matter when you cast your BA, because the DoT works the same as Serpent Sting: If there is x seconds left until the next tick and you renew it, the uptime = regular uptime + x seconds. And since the uptime is 100% due to the trinket anyways, you can't 'safe' any extra uptime. That's how I did it, I just used BA on CD. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, core hounds are unfortunately not tameable for SV Hunters. It shouldn't be on the list of use full pets.

Stampede no longer scales with haste effects, as the summoned pets no longer use Basic Attack (as of a hotfix during 5.3) and thus do not benefit from increased focus regeneration. As such, the most optimal time to use your 2nd Stampede will typically be during your 3rd Assurance of Consequence proc (~4 minutes), assuming the fight duration wouldn't allow for a 3rd Stampede regardless.
These videos are gonna be relevant again once MoP Classic drops after Cata Classic (; takes me right back to high school lmao
My comment on the opener would be:
Don't preacast cobra, Launch glaive toss at 1-1.5sec left on pull then instantly prepot. You should do this because glaive toss hits twice, thus allowing for higher chance of trinket proc.
And to add your proposed stat priority is bogus. it only works in high sustained AoE encounters (ie spoils). Otherwise stat prio is: Agi> hit/exp(7.5%)>crit>haste> mastery.
Your proposed stat priority, according to Simcraft loses me about 12k dps. (584 hunter (practically BiS))
so, i guess the "tellmewhen" addon isnt included with LUI?
Any idea what addon is he using for the Spell-Bars ? I use Bartender4 but it doesn't have that shadow on the border.. looks cool

Aspect of the Hawk is 35% AP, but w/e details. I don't think there's any more "optimal "way to use Rabid as Survival. Hell, even as BM it can be argued because by delaying BW initially to line it up with Rabid you lose potential Dextrous-BW uptime which arguably sucks much harder.
What kind of addon is it that shows the buffs? And whats the name of the addon that shows the casting bars? :)
Thanks for the guide! It did have some good tips. However, there is unused value in opening with Cobra Shot. At the start of a fight, focus is capped and there is no additional focus to be gained when you open with Cobra Shot. I even went as far as comparing the damage output between CS & SS. However, opening with CS ***does not*** apply Serpent Sting to a target. Serpent Sting would be a better opener.
Upon hearing the opening rotation through to 12:03, you have Serpent Sting last. That is 9 global cooldowns/ability applications without the most important hunter dot - only a measly 86,409 damage loss plus crits. If there are multiple targets, that could be an enormous dps loss. Serpent Sting needs to be among the first abilities used.
seasaint72 You do realise that pre-cast means cast BEFORE the boss is pulled right? You finish the cast at the exact second the boss is pulled and can then immediately attack as normal, meaning there is no reason NOT to precast. It is 100% free damage.
Even after that, it is MUCH more important to use Explosive Shot and your main cooldowns early than applying Serpent Sting a few globals sooner. Your entire logic of comparing Serpent Sting with Cobra Shot is flawed because they arent competing with each other for a global.
Also, 9 globals? Stampede, Explosive Shot, Black Arrow, AMOC, Glaive Toss, SS. Try 6. The other abilities don't trigger globals.
You cast cobra shot to proc trinkets and get a better serpent sting later, duh

Against 2 or more targets you should be using multi-shot over arcane shot as your focus dump provided you have toth proccs. Mastery is not a much better choice for AoE encounters either. In most gear setups, including bis, haste pulls ahead. With that being said, your BiS weapon is the bow from Klaxxi. It's also worth mentioning that toth is arguably better than fervor single target too, as the sims can't seem to use it to its full potential.
The problem with TotH on single target is that it has a tendency to over-cap you on focus which is a huge loss. The synergy that fervor shares with AMoC also increases the value of fervor and makes it a more reliable and on-demand choice with much more controllable focus recovery.
Haste is also of very little value when it comes to AoE based encounters. The increased magical damage from Mastery is far more beneficial than increased focus gain from Haste. As the current raid tier is AoE-bias across all but a few encounters then the BiS list would be haste oriented instead.

Hey would be awesome if you could just explain why mastery is actually better than haste as second priority secondary stat? I'm currently raiding heroic SoO and have been completely going for haste and reforging away my mastery on every piece. And if haste is better for single-target fights would you say reforge between multi-target and single-target fights would be worth it? How big is the dps difference.

Survival Hunter or Frost Mage for an Instant 90?
I have a 551 hunter (bm/surv) and a 528 mage (fire/frost) and I say frost besides the lvl 90 talent burden and timin alter time perfectly frost is easily the most fun ranged class to play! hunters are ok, but its a lot of shit to remember
