As you are heading down the west coast stop off at the pancake rocks, if the tide is right the blowholes are great. Hokitika Gorge is worth a look as is Franz Joseph Glacier. I used to camp a lot at Greens Beach, the turnoff is a few hundred meters north of Lake Ianthe, head for the coast, wild beach and not many people if any on a week day.
you should see were Burt Munro lived. not sure if there is a place they have his bike. he set a speed record on his Indian in 1967. he lived in Invercargill. They made the movie worlds fastest Indian in 2005

Here in the Puget Sound of the Pacific Northwest if you are going to ride a motorcycle you are going to ride the ferries. I enjoy them but unless you are going to or coming from Canada or Alaska we have a little shorter ride.

If you get a chance try Carambola jam, won’t find much on the shelves at Price Chopper in Derby though. Poor Mike needs some waterproof pants , kind of like his socks.
