My grandpa had an Opel Manta. What a beautiful car. As an eight year old I remember helping him washing it every week. A lot of people wanted to buy it from him. It was a collector's car. But grandpa decided to give it to one of my cousins (the eldest). Unfortunately he wrecked the car. Ended in the junkyard. Almost 35 years later, I'm still pissed about it.
Well you know a lot of manta ended in junkyard, they were good cars but a little "imprevisible" due to their bodywork, and when you make a powerglideespecially on dry road, unless you have 3KG of air in the tires or more HP than the origin all you can do is wait to land somewhere...
And I would say more: these “maricas” do not have an idea of the difficulties that owners of these cars have to keep them competitive with lot of difficulties to find spare parts.
Thank you so much, it's lovely to see so many classic rally cars. Even Simcas, although I may have confused one or two with a similar looking Renault perhaps?

Renault and Simca, unfortunately for the others there isn't many in France, and the only subaru authorised in Historic competition for the moment is the Legacy and the only one i saw was in italy last year ....
It’s Renault 8, but I understand they have almost the same bodywork except the Renault 10 is like … 20cm ish longer, ( and anyways I never saw any except in static exposition since it’s very rare )
Not to say that I don't really love a good slide thru a hairpin. And those Simcas are a pure joy to watch. But what always gets me in the end is the absolute precision of the Minis (overall the best motorcar ever made, I think). Even in the rain they just pull along like nothing else. And those who threw in the odd handbrake slide in a Mini failed miserably. As if the car told its driver to STFU and just BE quick. No show. All go. ( I may be biased though for owning 4 Minis through various parts of my life. :-D)
Well being honest until 2018 I never saw anyone going fast in rally with a mini ( I mean a real group 2 ) And so I never saw the driving style needed to drive fast with thoses cars, always sliding from the front or the rear and It's really impressive I wasn't expecting something so spectacular

unfortunately Fod Falcon in France are extremely rare i the only one i saw was for an exposition, moreover the only homologation by the FIA is a 2.8 flat 6, this car is more common in racetrack because it's a big car, heavy and it's not very performing in rally...

I mean they made this when the Group R came out and now all the Group R & RGT don’t even have papers, and since this is the leading group in WRC the FFSA ( French department of FIA ) decided that they will apply this for EVERY CARS. And yes they also apply this for the regularity group ( it’s insane they don’t even have the racing passport ) …
Oh, die Autos waren ehrlicher, man fuhr alle Konzepte, Standardantrieb, Motor vorn, Antrieb an der HA, Heckmotoren und Frontantriebler. Auch wenn ich seit Jahrzehnten (seit 1986 mit der 4 und mehr G Automatik) schon Automatik fahre und dies im Alltag die bessere Art zu fahren ist, man kann damit auch sportlich fahren, hier wurde von den Fahrern auch noch das vernünftiges Schalten verlangt. Ebenso Servolenkung, was ist das? Nebenbei, vor der Automatikzeit hatte ich auch mal den Escort RS2000 „Rubbernose“ 1977, der vom Käufer zum Rallyeauto umgebaut wurde) war ‚ne heiße Zeit. Heute? Es geht nur noch Allrad, Getriebe sind im Prinzip Automaten, Autos sehen nahezu gleich aus und sind im Grunde Fakebodies auf einem Renngerät. Fahren können muss man die auch und schneller geht es sicher ums Eck, aber das Unterschiedliche fehlt.
on ne voit que des voitures austère et insipide donc voiture allemande ,les belles Alfa Romeo on ne les voit que très peu ...dommage car leurs sonorité sont vraimment envoûtante.
Malheureusement, je filme ce que je voit et des Alfas Romeo je n'en croise que très peu, les giulia il n'y en a quasiment plus en VH comme quasiment toutes les autos des années 60 et début 70, les GTV ont en croise pas beaucoup, les alfetta en France j'en ai jamais vu, et les 75 la seule que j'ai pu admirer en rallye... c'était tranquillou pepere... chacun son rythme après, Après bon dans les best of j'éssaie de montrer les plus beaux passages et aussi de montrer des autos pas très courantes, comme les 308 GTB ou proto usine Simca 1200S, Après c'est sur que si je me déplaçais voir des épreuves comme le tour de corse, le circuit des remparts, le festival des vosges ou le costa brava j'aurais beaucoup plus d'auto peu courantes à montrer....
Ben non... j'ai travaillé durant le week-end du Sanremo Historique, mais cette année je pourrait y aller, et les courses de côtes italiennes ne sont pas courantes la ou je vis, malheureusement car j'aimerais bien en voir une ...

Sinon, je n'ai pas mis la 124 abarth et l'alfa 75 turbo car j'avais déja trop de choses, je n'ai pas vu de 131, je n'ai pas vu de prototype abarth, je n'ai pas vu de bonne delta, je n'ai pas vu de Stratos et je n'ai pas vu de 037, Si j'ai l'occasion d'en voir c'est volontier pour l'année prochaine, dans mes précedants Best Of j'ai mis des passages de stratos, delta, 131 ou 037
Je fais en fonction de mes moyens, et de mes disponibilités, c'est pour ça que chaque année je ne peut pas forcément aller ou je voudrais, si je pouvais j'irais voir la Silver Flag, le Rally Legend, les boucles de SPA, le tour auto (ne passe pas chaque année au même endroit) , des courses de côtes italiennes, suisses, allemandes Etc... etc....
Ce que je propose c'est le best of de ce que j'ai vu / vécu, un résumé en bref pour ceux qui ne veulent pas regarder toutes mes vidéos ... qui englobe déja beaucoup de rallyes, démonstrations, éssais ou courses de côte ....

My vote goes fr any car with standard wheel arches. Flares are so crude. It would reduce speeds to without reducing the sport.
