Fav game ever. I kind of consider this to be the main theme of the game. Played this song for a recital, gave me chills even though I was the one playing it!
I started Nier Automata first, not having the opportunity to play the og Nier on the PS3. When the Remake came in, I got it on Day 1. The backstory was so tragically beautiful. The plot transition to Automata, Emil keeping the shack of Kaine with a flower field of Lunar Tears, flowers that were almost impossible to cultivate even during the timeline of Replicant. That far from the throwback to the prequel hits me in the feels every time. Her theme encompasses her entire life as well as her story with the others. Even now the theme has a special place for me. Every time I hear these notes, emphasized by how you play it is enough to bring me back to every cutscene of both games. And to always remember the masterpiece I had the honor of playing all over again.
And Emil did all of that subconsciously. By the time Automata rolls around he has made millions of copies of himself defending his home, and through all those copies being destroyed fighting aliens and machine lifeforms, he gradually lost all of his memory. He doesn't remember who he was, or what he was even doing. Just that these flowers were important to him for some reason. He may have forgotten the reasoning, but he never _completely_ forgot. Even after thousands of years of fighting and millennia of amnesia, a part of him still held onto what it meant to have a friend. When he broke space time in Replicant, he said "I won't forget about you guys." He didn't. ITS EVEN MORE SCREWED UP when you realize Emil is, technically speaking, the last remaining human being left alive. No longer flesh and blood of course, immortal due to screwed up magic and circumstances, but like...he's still got a soul in there, ya know?

You playing it with the FF main theme just made me drop to me knees. It’s so wholesome and powerful. As a fan of both franchises, I can say you just made my whole rest of the year. It’s a sensation similar to when I first heard the FF XIV version. But this is genuinely better, I just wasn’t expecting it at all. And I loved every single second of it.
Awesome job, you really showed of great skill by playing one of the best compositions in the entire gaming industrie. Thank you for playing this beautiful melody from the soundtrack. Don't give up. Never.

I saw just Nier/Kaine in the title and I assumed it'd be only that - to have you mix the FFXIV remix in is beautiful. (I wish they'd had more of the FF theme in the mix tbh / had it go for longer.) I normally love slow delicate parts - 4:08 was really beautiful - so I was gonna shout those out, but also the beautiful flourishes and runs in that whole part after it were beautiful.
