I think I know why Shamus was in a shelter
The shelter didn't take in Shamus, Shamus just showed up one day and they were to scared to send him away
@@cwp2175 More likely that he was feral and born feral. Especially if he acted like they describe.
I was in the shelter the other day looking for a second dog to be friends with my first dog, and this little heeled mix looked great behind bars but would immediately put anyone who tried to touch her in a death grip around the wrist, like those attack dogs do with battened arm sleeves. It took two people to get her off of me and one of the girls was yelling at the dog, “THIS IS WHY NO ONE CAME LOOKING FOR YOU!”
@@cwp2175 Nah, this doesn't sound like the behavior of an abused animal. They tend to be much more timid, always hiding from people, running away when you enter the room, etc.
Guywholikes goodmusic non abused cats do that too so more than likely was a feral that got spayed or Neutered (cause I mean with a cat that violent I doubt anyone was brave enough to check) and then the vet put it in a shelter cause the person who brought it in put it up for adoption. Cause i have a cat that I’ve had since it was a kitten and it’s never been abused in its life and it acts timid. It all comes down to the personality and the environment it was raised.
I can attest to the theory Burnie suggested. Out of all the cats I've owned and taken care of, my lil' ginger furball was the one to show me the most love and affection and had so much personality to him. Was with me for 14 years and was the closest companion in my life growing up. Made up for the lack of siblings lol.

I'm on my 2nd orange cat, they're all just lazy and lovely. Although my second cat can sometimes put up a fit once in a while.
I hope the cat is still alive some where even tho it be like 20 -25 and one day it comes back for its revenge

It’s the same cat, all the evil was packed into the first of its 9 lives.
Some say Shamus was just chasing down his dreams, others say it was a Honda Civic. I like to think he caught it.
Now we know why Gus was stalked by that pigeon, squirrel and raccoons. It was because of Shamus, it's keeping track of Gus.
I volunteer at a cat shelter and the orange bois are ALWAYS the goofiest, sweetest bois. I don’t know why.
I recently lost my orange cat, I’ll never forget my childhood orange cat. Rest In Peace Avery.

We had an orange cat named Frank who died last month, we only had him for a little over a year and he spent most of that time sick but he was the absolute sweetest cat ever, loved cuddles and never scratched or hissed even when we were giving him medicine. 💕😿
What the heck happened in that cat's life that made him like that!?...
That's what I want to know...
likely bad owners plus living on the streets. that's usually what makes domestic animals that come from shelters be that mean.
my guess: original owners mistreated him, he ran away or was abandoned, and developed a grudge against humans, then living in the streets forced him to be tougher, he had to fend for himself to survive, which would make him attack anything that could represent a danger, including big scary dogs. by the time he got into a shelter, he was already like that and there was no turning back
@@Ray_Vun It's always abusive owners, it's not the animals fault, bad people aren't born evil, their raised poorly, animals are no different,
Experience Master that people part is half true... there are some whacked out psychos out there raised in good environments, but yeah the animal was likely abused or neglected and forced to fend for themselves
Unlikely there was any abuse. Probably just a feral cat. Abused animals behave much differently.
@@experiencemaster1743 That statement (in regards to people) is not entirely factual. Often when people try and argue that nobody is born evil they never consider or completely forget about the existence of sociopaths...and no (to make a long story short) it is not always so simple as saying they were abused or weren't raised properly.

It's a pun on the expression "as rare as hens' teeth", i.e. something that doesn't exist.

We have two of our neighborhood cats are orange male cats. One is really shy but really sweet. The other was just meow at our door one night after we got back from a trip while it was raining looking for shelter. That cat is the most chill cat.

My cat stunk her paw out of her cage when I was at the cat shelter. I imminently adopted her because of that and I felt a connection with her. She did not scratched me when I took her paw.
My cat, Demona, reached out to my mother when we were getting a cat. I chose her over the cat I was looking at because I thought owning a black cat would be badass. Turns out she is a fat adorable derp.
Both of my cats were adopted on the spot when they bit my husband. One was a loving bite, and she is a sweetheart. The other was a little less loving, and I like to call her my little household serial killer.

Sunday is the new monday
There is a running joke in my field that male orange tabby's are just like, surfer dudes. Always chill and cool. I can attest however that my orange cat named Charlie was the meanest of the 3 cats I owned in my lifetime. He wasn't aggressive but he LOVED to play rough. The day we adopted him from the vet office he was at, the receptionist put us in a room with him (7-8 months old at the time) and we spent about a half hour playing and such and then when we decided we wanted him, the receptionist picked him up and he NAILED her on the lip with a bite because he was so worked up with us playing with him. She thought we'd for sure change our minds but my dad was like "nope, I like his spirit!".
He'd come up to you with this look on his face like "you ready?! You wanna go?! Let's do this!" And dude just loooove to play rough. Would also have those rare moments where he'd slowly crawl towards you and start purring, and slooooowly make his way to your lap for love. He was a cool dude but not at all what most orange tabby's are like 😂.

Orange cats are pretty nice. My mom picked up one someone dumped because he literally ran into someone's arms in my mom's car. He is now my step brother and my dads cat son. They are ridiculously close.

I had an Orange cat named Angel, definitely an exception to Burnie's theory. The cat is also 16 years old now(no longer my cat), still an angry matted ball of fur.

I had a orange male cat too, his name was Oliver after the movie. Cause my name is Jen and the little girl that own him was Jen. so I HAD to get a orange kitten. I loved my Oliver very must and he was so super sweet. So Bernie is so right, Orange cats are the best.
Had two orange cats and both were named Loco lol. Oh but they were the nicest kitties ever and I miss them. My buddy has a peach cat and shes so adorable too. Seen a few skinless cats they seem to have the similar personalities. Black cats are ok but I find the grey to brown tabbies (and most in between) to be terrible cats.
I had a cat named crash, he was so chill he turned angry cats into normal non hate filled cats.
