Thank you for updating us! I was wondering where some of your old videos had gone. I appreciate you being conscientious and letting us know about these issues.
There have been some instances where even the popular travelers company has molded. The solution is to pop it in the freezer to stop the spores and then heat it with a hair dryer. Wipe it clean and it shouldn’t return. Jane Lee, Jane the crazy (her yt channel) shared how she cleaned hers. I would never want to buy one that way, however if it does happen to yours that’s how you can rectify it.
I have 3 Newestor - September Lather TN’s. I have the A5, full size and the Field Notes size. All three are perfect and no mould at all. I have treated the leather on all of them with a clear shoe leather balm. I am in Europe, there must have been some issue with a batch that was shipped to USA recently. I hope they rectify the issue as in my opinion they are excellent value for money.
Aaah, so the mystery solved! I was looking for a particular video of yours and couldn't find it. Now I know why. Thank you so much for posting this as well as all your other videos. I use many of them as a reference or for inspiration.
Also, when companies use food products to dye items, if they skip steps, it can mold because it is food. It’s like dying paper with coffee…if you don’t add the alcohol, it has potential to mold. Great video. Very informative 😊
Thanks so much for updating us. I have one of those covers from years ago and really like it. I have a bad mold allergy so I really appreciate you letting us know so I don't reorder or worst yet send one as a gift!
I just received this TN for my birthday. It had a little white stuff on it but I don’t believe it was mold. There was no mold smell and it wiped right off. Also it was not on all of the cover or the packaging. The TN cover is beautiful!! I have been wanting it for over a year now and I’m so glad I got it.
I’m going to be receiving replacement for my September leather B6 I didn’t have mold I made a dumb mistake and they allowed me to send it back for replacement I had only had it 3 days the leather was nicer and softer than I had originally thought it would be
Sure! It’s not real leather because I often use messy supplies, but I’m impressed with how well it’s held up over several years. I bought it from Amazon: amzn.to/3RTqe86
I never saw the appeal of these things, people stuff them in a way that they become impractical and bulky, I prefer normal notebooks like Leuchtturm and whatnot, an A7 for quick notes and appointments and an A5 as a journal.
I use both as well. Right now I have my wallet, planner, list book, and jotter in a standard TN. That goes with me everywhere. Then I have my art journal / commonplace book in an A5 notebook. Sometimes I get tired of one paper type, so I usually rotate between Emshoi, Leuchtturm1917, Moleskine, and Stalogy.
I really appreciate this video and your diligence in even updating older videos to reflect the change.

🌷 You're welcome! I hope they fix the supply chain issues, as they used to be so well made and easy to recommend.

Yikes! I’m glad she offered an option for items which can’t be returned, but I’m with you. It would be a no-go for me.

I just bought three, and they are fine, no mold.
Good to hear!
Me too! Feeling very fortunate now that mine is okay 😫
Hi thanks for the heads up. I like your table surface. I tried to look in your description but no reference for link. Would you post here? Thanks

I have an infection from mold thats on going OMG! Thank God for your video
Not good! I wish you well.
I love Chic Sparrow covers. They’re ethical, and consistent.
I feel the same way about Apple Pig. Ting is a true artisan. It was just nice to have something more economical to recommend as an alternative.
I just received mine. Is it supposed to be a smooth & shiny leather or a velvety/suede feel?
I would call it smooth. Not shiny like patent leather. Not fuzzy velvet like suede.
@@KeyLimeInk hmmm, bummer....mine is fuzzy. I don't like it! Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate you putting this video up to let us know.
I don’t know if you know „Janethecrazy“ here on YT, but she did a very good video on reviving moldy leather covers.
what size is this cover? standard TN?
Yes, both are Standard.
@@KeyLimeInk ah...the one I have from September Leather is A5 size.
Mold? Or bloom (fat or wax)?
According to what some reviewers saw and smelled, it was mold.

Traveler's notebooks are wonderful as an all-in-one (be it in leather or fabric etc), at least I liked my TN just as much as my Leuchtturm notebooks.
