This stuff makes me cry. If it wasn't so expensive to come to you now as a volunteer I would. About 9 years ago I saw a huge male battling with other males for breeding rights off California. He was entangled by a commercial net and could not fight. He reared up but let me help. The net filled my truck bed. Bet ya right now, fast food chains could care less. Big boy stayed with me after the fact but held a distance of roughly 5 meters. We have thumds and tools they don't. I sat in his comfort zone for two more hours while he napped. We are unfortunately only treating the symptoms of the plastic crisis with our rescues. The goal of these videos is to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.
