the "everyone owns an all black outfit" bit got me laughing so hard because i work backstage in theatre so like 90% of my wardrobe is black but they're definitely uh. a different vibe, shall we say lol. very much in the skinny jeans and six dollar thsirt range rather than fancy party dresses. fr though this video was cool!! i love watching ur outfit vids bc they're so outside of my world as a pretty neutral jeans and button ups person who gets made fun of by their fancy roommates for owning like four pairs of pants total. and "slightly drunk art school teacher" is a truly incredible vibe. amazing. this was a treat!! merry holidays, lucy!

i went on a christmas pub crawl a few nights ago and i went straight from work so i wore my nicest black skinny jeans and black pullover, and my nice steel toes. hashtag just theatre things or something lol

My favourite long coat to wear out in the winter when I'm dressed up/going out is my leather duster, keeps the wind off me/from flipping my skirt up, always matches my shoes, gives the outfit some edge, and if it rains, it dries off within minutes
Yes Lucy! This video was the one! I love love love seeing how you restyled what you already owned instead of buying more things. It means that you end up with creative outfits like the velvet skirt with the jewelled jumper. I got so many ideas from the video so thankyou 💕✨
Ok. To every piece you show I do find an equivalent in my wardrobe. Thats scary. But that’s the point, right? And guess what. I was on a Christmas party yesterday and wore my (flowery) satin skirt with a black top. AND my best friend chose her black velvet dress instead of shopping a new one. Mission accomplished I’d say. I still appreciate the point you are making with this video; a lot of people obviously do not have the same items as you, but their own version of it somewhere in the wardrobe. And you can first "shop" your own wardrobe before going out and buying clothing for one party. So good job! I am glad you will not buy new clothing for this festive season (and neither will I, as I have more than enough dresses or other things to wear) :)
I loved this video and your style as always! Plus, tights are sexy! I don't understand why so many people don't think so. Maybe it's just an Italian thing but sheer (20 to 40 den) tights are soo chic and sexy and everyone I personally know thinks so. You can embrace them too!!
I agree with you!! I remember going to London in December a couple of years back and being SHOCKED by lots of short dresses and no tights. I don't understand how ppl survived the cold??? And tights can even elevate an outfit imo.
I love the idea of doing things like wearing the brandy Melville cardi as a top, or the dress as a skirt, or the silk PJ's as party trousers, it's super inspiring to know there's no shame in using an item differently to how it was marketed, I'll be trying that this season 😊😊💕

Great video Lucy, and perfect timing for me! Went to my works Christmas party last night wearing my little black dress with a sparkly jumper over the top, and a black sequinned handbag I've owned for 23 years! Got so many compliments, felt great and comfortable and it didn't cost me a penny. 👍😍👍

Exactly what I was thinking! Like no we might not have these same types of clothes, but you can look through your closet and re-pair things. And if you’re going out to shop, getting in the mindset of “is this timeless? Will this drop out of acceptable next year?” Tbh Lucy is great at making you take another look at things 💜💜💜

To be honest I think a lot of the ridiculous senseless comments people make in the comment section emanate from jealousy. Lots of stupid, pointless observations that are not helpful at all. Before you type something silly, ask yourself does this really matter? Do I have to say this? Do I have to point this out? Perhaps just enjoy the video for what it is, or if it triggers you switch it off?!
you're literally the only agressive and rude person in that comment section .. calm down my dude.. there is nothing senseless about people saying that they wouldn't go out in sandals in december .. it's just an observation
I take back what I said, I just read two really mean comments, let's try to transform them into positivity
Hmm, I know some like the contrast of a winter outfit with sandals a lot, but look nr 1 really looks... ODD. Frankly said, you look like on a very cold day you entered the shoe store and stripped of your doc martins and socks to try on heels for your prom dress... Pitty because for the rest this is a great outfit!
With look nr 2 it is much better, much more in balance!
With nr 3 a bit the oposite, if you want to wear those shoes, and I love those shoes, those stockings need to come off. Ankle boots in this material would be a perfect match with the black nylons though!
Outfit 4 is very nice but maybe a bit too nice... Good for an office party but it laks the glam of the previous looks.
Outfit 5 aint your color nor your fit, I would pass every outfit except for the coat, wich is very cool!
Outfit 6 and 6.1 once again, I love, I really love! But again either off with the stockings and with naked pins in the sandals, or stay warm and cozy in ankle boots.
Outfit 7 has the ankle boots finally arrived and it makes for a very very nice look, but like nr 4 maybe a bit more for an office party. though I would not complain. ^^
So scrap nr 5 and with a few very minor adjustments, you have a perfect lookbook, all in time for christmass ^^

@@katyasanigar9290 i am probably older than you are, actually. I grew up with Trinny and Susannah restyling the whole UK. People were not as hostile and touchy as they are now back then. It's quite obvious you are more hit by the fact that I 'how dare you!' spoke out my opinion then by the content, you probably did not even took effort to read it, it just got you somebody expressed opinion instead of saying 'my gosh you look amazing'
