  • So what’s been interesting in the world of Augmented Reality?
    - Well, after Apple released Vision Pro and set off a new wave of excitement over XR and spatial computing headwear, there are now strong indications that Meta is planning to show off its first real AR glasses, called "Orion," at its Connect 2024 event later this year.
It’s apparently been in development for almost a decade and most likely a few more years away from me and you being able to wear it.. But we’re still excited that they are almost ready to at least make an official announcement!
    - Now we all know how fast technology moves in this modern age; while some companies are working on building AR headsets, some other people are working on AR contact lenses!
The idea of smart contact lenses has been around for some time but the problem has always been.. How do we supply power to a tiny piece of silicone hydrogel, a fraction of a mm thick stuck to your eye? Having a USB power brick connected to your eyeball does not sound like a winning idea.
In a research paper published recently, a team from the University of Utah puts forward a very innovative 2 part method of solving this problem.

    - As for our SDK, we released a minor update: version 2.0.1
We fixed some bugs.. We added some new features.. We updated some plugins.. And we’re happy to say that it’s running more beautifully than ever.
If you’re a developer building any kind of Augmented Reality, location based applications, or you’re placing persistent digital assets in the physical world for everyone to see and interact with, the Immersal SDK might be just the tool you’re looking for!
