Beautifully restored example of an iconic 'plane. Go see it at the Delta Museum if you're in Atlanta. Requires a call first to visit the museum but it's worth it if you like Airline history and/or Delta specifically.

seems Carole Lombard died in such an airplane. All 22 people on board - including her mother, and three crew members - died in the crash. The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) investigated the accident and determined it was caused by a navigation error by the captain.
This is a bit too dark to see. Interesting none the less. The airplane cost of $125K is equivalent to 2.1 million in today's dollars.. Good job on the Life magazines!
