Hendrik, you’re the man! I also played college tennis around the same time as you, and I wish someone had done a video like this back then. The quality of your videos and the way you explain things are spot on. Wishing you the best of luck as a RUclipsr and as a pro tennis player! 💪

you are underrated, especially since the quality of not only your video but also your advice is so good, I'm new here but was surprised to find out you have so less subscribers. You definitely deserve more!

Hi Hendrik thanks for the insight. I have met ex D2 players who used to play in US colleges. Sadly they were not good/talented enough to thrive in ITF. They became tennis coaches in Club Med or European countries before heading to Asian countries. Mind you they are far better than club players but just not able to thrive well in ITF

Don't underestimate the effect of UTR. Coaches like to look at this metric for players rather than national rankings. In most national rankings you can get up by playing a lot, UTR is more about quality than quantity of matches, which is why coaches prefer it. Since some countries (like Germany) don't use UTR, it can be very beneficial to play internationally.

UTR has gained a lot of popularity, during my recruiting process it wasn’t important but as of late it is one of the biggest factors. I’m not an expert on UTR, when I played an UTR tournament in 2021 it seemed like some ratings were also a bit off. Nonetheless I agree that it’s a good idea to focus on improving UTR as much as possible

Great vid! But I do have a question. How good should someone living in the US be at tennis, in order to get into a Division 1 school?

It would be great if you could make a video about Utr ranking in Germany and how you improve despite the lack of utr verified events

Hi I will research and go into UTR more, they have a calendar for bigger events around Europe but it’s quite hard to get into them I guess. I played a UTR in Mühlheim in 2021 for example
