Detailed LEGO Ocean Technique! Mansion Pool & Front Entrance | Day VLOG

- In this LEGO VLOG, I continue working on the island mansion. I used a new technique to make some really nice water detail, a pool, and a front entrance. In addition to the building, I order some parts from LEGO and BrickLink that will help fuel this massive custom project. All of this while dealing with the twins!

Okay, okay, okay, I'll change the pool design - please no more negative comments about it 🫠
I just thought it had one of those bougie glass covers on it.
you might go for the glassed walled pool (from the beach side). Nothing screams mansion like those pools.
Man I liked how you did the pool.🤷🤦
I like the pool design.
Bricksie do it how you want to do it I enjoy the way you do it
Crazy that my favorite show these days is your daily lego uploads - and it's free! Amazing job, Jordan. It's clear that you pour your heart into this, and you do an amazing job!!
Just wanted to say yours is my favourite Lego RUclips channel.
I also became a dad to a baby girl for the first time on Christmas Day and now have some appreciation for just how hard you must have worked to keep this channel going while having twins! Huge achievement!!! Well done to you all 🙌🏻
Congratulations on your baby girl! May your life be eternally blessed. Best wishes to you and your family.
The twins look like their growing well and happy
Something to consider with the lego city water area, most ports are inside of breakwaters which keeps the water fairly smooth so you may not need to add the water wave textures and save some pieces. It is also usually dredged so it would be darker in color and fairly uniform. Love the lego room and city! Inspiring to a new collector!
Hang in there man! It does get easier. Our first is 11 months old now and they sleep better/longer, eat less frequently, and become slightly more autonomous as the months go on. The first few months are a marathon and you usually don't have enough sleep or feel like you can make it each day, but it works out. Be patient and love those adorable babies as much as you can! I hope mommy is doing well too. She needs lots of emotional and physical support too, which sounds like you are doing. Keep it up!
This isn't related to the private island, but I thought of something most real cities have that your Lego city appears to be missing: an abandoned factory.
It would be a fun way to practice unorthodox building techniques and make broken machines or signs of vandalism to give the building a rundown look
I love coming home from school to one of bricksies LEGO videos
@Bricksie you should build the mansion on top of the garage, but where the front door is thats a good place for it.
I love the water design but I'm not crazy about the black plate under the tiles. To me it doesn't look deep, it just looks kinda dirty. Maybe just the deep blue color would do the trick! (Just nitpicking though!)
I thought the same.
Dude. I...can't... stop... coming....... to your channel. and coming..... to the conclusion that this is awesome. I've wanted to dedicate a room to lego since I was a wee lad. Im totally late to the party, but clearly, Im not alone.
Really like the beach with the fading colors. This makes me want to add a beach to my city.
Love how the LEGO beach is looking with all those different blue pieces
For the first time ever I'm actually finding a RUclips series interesting. I'm fully invested in this build and all of its techniques and ideas. Great job brickie.
The ocean looks great! I always just use blue baseplates and call it good but this looks so much better 👍
You are doing a splendid job managing providing interesting LEGO content and balancing with new Twin fatherhood! Keep pressing on!! 💯 Cheers again from former Calgarian now raising his own twins near San Francisco! 🍷
For the pool I would make it less uniform, even though they're clear you still see the connection points. I would add some regular clear bricks or plates to make the points not line up and look more like the slight waves in a pool
I love seeing the twins in your videos 🥰 5 months already?! Wonder what their first LEGO set will be?
Those different colours for the water look great. The only thing I would add thou is some clear cheese wedges to show foam as the wave breaks.
I discovered your channel a few days ago. This is officially my new favorite channel when I want to relax for 15 minutes. I’m also inspired. I really want to get back into legos. Back when I was in school (twenty years ago) I started playing with legos for the first time since I was a kid. That sounds weird; “playing?”
Collecting, I guess. I don’t know the terminology.
Anyway, I got sick and ended up on prednisone for like five years, which lead to osteoporosis which lead to me breaking my back in like 7 places. I had a bunch of surgeries, too, but I’m doing a lot better. I know that’s too much info, but I mention it to explain why bending over and even working at a table on Legos is no fun for me orthopedically.
My main Lego room has basically become storage over the past decade. I still try to keep up with the ‘hard to find’ sets. It’s a little weird to spend money on a hobby I’m not even participating in, but I keep meaning to return to it, and if/when I do get back into it, I know it will be prohibitively expensive to catch up and get the sets I missed. So, I buy them and store them. I mostly get the Creator Expert buildings and some ‘ideas’ sets. The higher end stuff. Star Wars used to be my main thing…
Pretty much in life; but I no longer care (except for the original films, which I still watch at least one a month and frequently play in the background while I’m doing stuff).
I would love to finish the rest of my basement and make a place where I could finally combine all my modular buildings and haunted houses into one big city display. Make a room for my Hot Toys figures. Set up my GI joe Aircraft carrier and display my favorite 80s toys. Maybe a small home arcade, too.
Right now, my basement is so full of unopened action figures, that I really don’t know where to start. Plus, I’m from Massachusetts; my brother is down in Texas. With my health issues, I would need his help for at least a couple months.
The other idea I had, to simplify things, so I didn’t have to find a home for my various collections, would be to build another structure in my yard. I could have a large display floor and a separate work area to actually build my sets and build my Gundam and so forth.
I just have one more big surgery to get through (hopefully, the last). Then I can figure out what my plan is moving forward. I feel ancient because of the medical issues, but I’m only 40. Hopefully, plenty of time to get to regular work, maybe (figures crossed) it’s not too late to start a family. I basically had to focus on not dying for the past 15-16 years. I had a lot of close calls, but, as I said, I’m mostly on the other side. The good news is men can have kids when they’re 50…60…70. Not ideal, but the door isn’t going to slam shut on me anytime soon. The bad news is, I don’t really have interest in women that don’t have a similar frame of reference. I couldn’t see myself with someone under 35 or so. I’m not sure a 20 year old would appreciate my constant ALF and Jem and the Holograms references.
This turned into a weird therapy session. I’m not sure how that came across, but after everything, I’m actually feeling pretty optimistic.
In the meanwhile, I’ve got fun new content to enjoy and start my imagination working.
Minor critique, I think the pool's blue is too dark. I think the lightest blue that you used on the beach is what a chlorinated pool would look like. However some pools have painted bottoms so maybe the blue is meant to be the pool color not the water color...
I used the parts I have
@@Bricksiewhat are you so rude
@Luca Rarau Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude. I have hundreds of people telling me what to do or what I did wrong - sometimes it gets to me mentally.
@@Bricksie i feel you
@@lucararau2899 he wasn't rude, he explained why it looks the way it does
Your skills are really starting to shine with these Mocs! Loving it.
The Bricksie twins are looking adorable! Keep doing what you're doing. You're both nailing parenthood :-)
I love the mansion beach water detail over your city beach and harbour. Very inventive. Not a fan of the pool myself, but I'm sure it'll look great when it all comes together. Also, would love to see your harbour get a facelift at some point.
Loving your varied content as always dude! Thanks.
ocean & beach front look appropriate for the areas. dock could be a combination of both
Another technique for water is a bunch of trans blue 1×1 studs. Just pouring them out, and that's it
Love the mining army in your room haha
ocean technique looks awesome
Great video! I love how you incorporated the ocean technique into the mansion pool and front entrance. I have a lego city with a beach too and It would be cool to try out this technique. Keep up the awesome work
If you (can) use advent minibuilds, you do have those parts already.
I love how this looks! Especially the front door and the water design 😁
People stop with the negative comments, he doesn’t have infinite pieces.
Looks amazing bricksie!!
You should add a shelve in the garage for the drivers' helmets or event the torsos to look like the racing uniforms for the cars.
I know you mentioned about white between the water and the beach, but ocean water hitting the beach is a foamy white so some white would look natural.
A door going into the garage even if next to the mansion front door is not out of place since not everyone would want to go through the house to go to/from the garage, and the roll up doors wouldn't always be up to use as an entrance/exit.
Great video…as always 😊 Love the mix of everything you put in your videos ❤ So happy to see the family, including fur babies are doing well just as your lego world!! You do you Jordan! Much love from Halifax!
Milly is thinking : “This is great, I can play with my hands and my brother’s hands!“ 😆
As someone who lives by the water, I don’t quite understand the black and at this point doesn’t look good. But I’ll withhold judgement until the finish product. Love the concept.
Day 43 of asking Bricksie of adding a military base to the Lego city
Like the new water design, however I do not prefer to combinate the two shades of blue transparent tiles/cheese slopes. There is already a shade underneath out of plates, so I'd use only light transparent blue parts with clear elements for bubbles/foam.
What a way to start a video. I absolutely love seeing the twins, just adorable! Thank you so much. Big hello to the pooches.
I think they all look good. Remember depending on the shoreline and surf depends on the waves. Does your shipyard, it is possibly deeper so one color is fine. The beach has different depths. Your island would be the same. If you are looking for ideas for video topics I think you, showing how to use bricklink efficiently would be great. Your search is so much faster than mine.🤣
Please keep this style video up!
Love the Lego vlogs and the new beach on the mansions looks really good, keep being the best Lego RUclipsr 😀
Look pretty good, love the ocean design, can you maybe add alot of flowers and palm trees with a spider would look really cool
the different colours for the water is really good. Helps with the depths.
I’m loving this private island so far. I know you have a lot of dark trans blue cheese wedges to use up but they seem a little out of place for the waves on the beach. Light trans blue wedges would go a long way in making the island perfect
Thank you for the technique video.
Dang...epic. Looks so great! Like the ocean area. The twins are looking amazing!!!
Thank you for taking us with you on this journey...the best RUclips channel. I look forward to it daily with my morning cafe!!
To renew the oceans it might be worth it to get another baseplate, fill that with black plate and then only peel the trans blue tiles off of the blue baseplate and place them on the others. Is it quicker? Not necessarily. But this way you can break it up into sections and also visually it looks like you got more done with less mess.
The beach's design is awesome! I really love the waves!
Crazy that the twins are already five months!!!!
Nice !! IMO -- The beach front next to the Lighthouse looks best , or at least is may favorite . All the water really looks good , seriously good !! , Later , D.
The twins are adorable!!
One thought about the grass, you mentioned in the last video that a mansion would probably have a groundskeeper so the uneven edges wouldn’t make sense. What if you tiled off the grass with green tile to make it flat, hide the studs, and square off the edges? This would make it look like a well maintained lawn
you are the reason i cant find any trans light blue tiles
Water looks great. The short windows (Part 6556, Part 60594, Part 2493a) should be a good fit for the front part of the garage. Depending on what you want to do at the top you should be able to match your desired height.
it looks great
i really hope your kids like lego and dont get sick of them
city looks great! In the new harbour scene I say leave it as is in the video but over the black plates, change from the 1x2 trans light blue tiles, to a 1x2 dark blue trans tile if available. mixing the white and dark trans blue cheese slopes for the waves. I think the pool would look great with trans blue 1x1 studs or cheese slopes and studs mixed
build an U.S. ARMY base plz that would be awesome.
The kids are too cute lucky guy
I like the pool actually.
Bricksie, you should try using angled plates at the sand edge to reduce the jagged edges of corners.
I was so happy when you grabbed the clear wedges because I was screaming], We need breakers! Good job.
The twins are adorable! 😍 And the dogs and cat are pretty cute too. Love your video's and I really like the new project. Looking great so far!
I love your videos man, your mansion It's look very cool ✌️
Before you know it, they will be heading off to college. Savor the journey. It is amazing how time flies.
trans medium blue cheese slopes could be fun to mix in with blue ones youve got there, I've used those with light blue and clear cheese slopes for waves and can vouch for them.
Love the look of the beach!
I think like five-ish years ago Lego made a Lego city car ferry you could look into using that
That beach with waves is lookin' awesome!
Funnily enough I just used Bricklink studio for the first time, and my test project was messing around with water depth almost EXACTLY like what you've done.
Keep up the great work!
I like the water design on the island
is really coming along nicely. I think the mansion door needs to be bigger. To put minifigures in the pool put clear 2×1 rectangle pieces with studs & attach the minifigures without legs to the studs.
The surfer wave is the best water technique imo
Nice routine
The ingot colour and style floor would look good around the Venetian houses/canal area colour would match up well
“Weeks for an order of bricks? Just steal some from town, I’ll pay for it!!” - billionaire minifig
Love the waves! I think they would look even cooler if they were not consistent across the whole ocean. Have them break in a few places.
In working on my beach I ended up finding that running trans light blue over some of the dark tan is a nice touch, too.
New subscriber and have to say a lovely relatable channel you have; im in no way a serious lego builder, but do enjoy the odd build and watching your content. Keep up the good work, champions garage/ mansion coming on well! I've only ever used instructions but might delve into self build one day!
just wait until the are 5 years old - the water looks fantastic. great work!
Rr cuites and awesome coffee will look amazing the garage mansions and pool
love the private island water best. maybe a few white wedges along crest of waves?
How wonderful! Love ur creative videos on an really representative modus!
Keep on doin what You doin !
Peace from Norway❤️
That beach is looking fantastic! You should make the pool an infinity pool 😅
awesome video jordan i love the water detail that you did on the mansion great job
Love the progress and the detailing of the water on the beach. Should add a ladder toward the dock from water onto pavement :)
I think the mansion needs to be raised up 2-3 bricks to create a more majestic entry as well increase the main floor height more substantially from water surface...for those inevitable high waves that might be encountered on an island, seeing as the mansion is really close to the water. Maybe also a line of grill pieces along the bottom edge of the walls for water drainage :)
hi bricksie do you plan to buy the new lego ideas billboard for your lego city
Look at some pictures or video of waves, they don't get darker at their peak. Tiger striping the ocean makes it look like your island has had an oil spill.
The boat harbor should be flat, but maybe a murky green because the water is flat (hardly any current in that area). Beautiful babies, btw!
that water looks awesome!
Your children make the world a more beautiful place! 🥰I think they could start to earn you a living with baby commercials!☺️
On their side, perhaps?
Will the house, mostly sit on the garage?
As for the water, would the dark trace blue not work better for the deeper parts?
Lets you put in the blue color a bit better, especially with that black plate.
i would add some regular transparent cheese slopes with the trans blue ones
hahaha you did it
afol tvs water is the best imo
Love the texturing, but I'm kind of confused as to the direction the water is moving. I see there are 2 sides of contact to the shore, but the water would turn and the depth would increase as it moves away from the land.
loving the mansion :)
Maybe instead of having black plates under the tiles you should probably keep it navy blue
Looking great, the pool looks like it has a pool cover on it.
Just came here to say Iove your videos and ideas! And my cat is also named Luna 😊 😺
I placed my orders yesterday for my starwars Mocs!
