CCI is out of business, so I am sure your unit is at least out of warranty... Propane gas, I am told has a combustible density of 20%. So perhaps "21" in the model name refers to at which point the alarm detects a dangerous gas level.
I was over 200 miles away and the thing would not quit chirping. Old lady was screaming make it stop, ended up having somebody just go cut the wire loose tape it up till I can get to it.
The manual states that testing with butane gas from a lighter can damage the sensor. They did not state why, so I do not know under what conditions it is permissible.
Thank you. No one else has talked about fuse or battery turn off before working with wires.
