  • Ruts and washouts from rainwater flowing down a hill. Could really use some ditching on the sides, but homeowner had a budget to work with.

    Very interesting video! My yard is full of ruts and boggy. I'm trying to figure out a way to fix it and this video helped me realize that it's going to take an expert!! Great work!! God will bless you!

      Thanks for the great comment! Hope you can find the right person to help you out! I have some other yard grading videos you should check out. Main thing is to get the grade correct for proper surface sheet flow. If that's not doable then French drains can work. But sheet flow is better and doesn't fail.

    water will carry the stone down hill. it's better to start at the bottom where you may potentially have more stone to work with. it's saves you from cutting into the clay and removing to much base. good job trying to get the roots out. those will destroy the pavement if they do it. brice is awesome. overall good job. looks great.

    Good video!, I bid on a 2020 ASV RT50 Friday. It went pretty cheap but I let it go.. wasn't sure if I'd like one without a foot throttle and I wasn't sure how big the cab was. It was 3 hours away.. I like the commentary nobody's going to watch a show where somebody don't say anything. Keep up the good work

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the comment! What did it sell for? I run this 40 full throttle all the time so the foot pedal isn't a must for me. The cab is a little tight, I'm short but my knees are usually sore after a day from pushing to keep my butt in the seat.
      Thanks for the advice on commentary it's hard to find a happy medium that everyone is pleased with!

      Foot throttles on Skid steer's are terrible if your using it for anything but loading. I don't even know if foot throttles are that common any more. I don't think Kubota or Bobcat use them. I know our CAT 299D3 skid steer that I have at work doesn't have a foot throttle.

    The Makita did great.

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  6 месяцев назад

      Yes it did! It used 3, 5amp hour batteries and about 1/2 of a 3ah battery. Granted the batteries did sit in the truck below freezing overnight. But overall I'm very happy with it. Just got it on Black Friday sale along with a couple others to add to my makita collection. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    Could your power rake cut those ruts in the driveway or were they too deep?

      Hey thanks Jeff! I was thinking you'd like this one when I was working on it! I thought about the power rake but being so wet i thought it would have gotten caked up. After doing the job I realized there wasn't much stone there to begin with and I hit dirt pretty quick.

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  5 месяцев назад

      The RT40 has a lot of power. With this tooth bucket there's no problem tearing out asphalt driveways once you get a corner started.

      Thanks for the comment Doug! I used to run a tractor but man, once I started running a skid I got so much faster at both grading and shuttling materials. I did build a land plane for this machine and it works great! I brought it with me on this job but didn't use it. Check out the build in this video if you want to

      Thanks for the comment, fortunately I can take my time only thing I was racing here was daylight! I didn't get started till 11 or so cause the truck driver was busy in the morning. So not bad for 4-1/2 hours of work. One hour was just plate tamping lol.
