In hindsight, it was okay since Buckland was also selling out arenas. People want just plain good guys to win back then as kayfabe was still pretty much hidden during that era. It wasn't until the Hogan era that characters became the main appeal.

I took a hiatus from wrestling and got back into it in the mid 80s to about 2013. Then if fell off dumb story lines etc
