    I feel confident that once robots are ready for prime time, that they're gonna proliferate extremely quickly for the simple reason that they can speed up basically all aspects of resource extraction and manufacturing. E.g. Mining company Rio Tinto is already using autonomous machines to dig for resources. And as you pointed out, the robots can can help build more robots. And all this can happen basically 24/7/365. Very amazing - but also scary. We already destroy mountains of earth each day for resources. Once that's automated, I'm a bit terrified of the likely extremely unsustainable results

    I don't trust these videos showing what these robots can do - will believe when it happens - it will happen but I am just not convinced it will happen as soon as this implies - robotics is harder to achieve than AGI. Its too easy to pretend these robots can do more than they actually can.

      Why do you think its so hard? Chatgpt with image input can already help you find your keys from a pic of your messy house. Chatgpt in robot = success?

    • @edgardsimon983
      @edgardsimon983 9 часов назад

      we have crazy robot for years now what missed his the autonomy part and ai just un locked it no need for agi and its not as hard as agi at all its just far less abstract and require a lot of investissement

    • @shirowolff9147
      @shirowolff9147 8 часов назад +2

      If you have agi you automatically have advanced robots, because agi on its own can project them, you just need to build it which is easy

      Robotics harder than AGI? Hmm. Robotics are essentially engineering and materials science challenges, but AGI...I dunno

    If you have a totally automated factory, why would it be a humanoid robot? Why wouldn’t the factory be tailored specifically to automation?

      ... they said as they ate their 20th century cake,
      while their competitors took another slow motion step,
      in the first steps of a sprint,
      that would define the next 100 years.

    if we can't get robots into Ukraine, at this point in time, it shows that these robots are far from ready. it's great progress and good momentum, but I finished commercial product is far away.
    ..... it's the batteries where are the batteries? Where are the fuel cells without this? They're just robots plugged in.

    • @elenaleclerc6410
      @elenaleclerc6410 8 часов назад +1

      It is not a matter of having enough people or not, it is about alleviating humans from repetitive, difficult and dangerous tasks such as mining, fire distinguishing, retrieving of trapped people in earthquakes, surveillance of remote areas, repair of machines, military combats, etc…
      Why would you use a phone to call people now, why can’t you keep writing them letters like people used to do some 80 years ago ? Do you get it ?

    Will put pressure for western markets to compete, china is already competitive with labor (due to inhumane conditions in factories) but with robotics they pretty much sealed the deal. Western markets will start to go all in on robotics and AI by the end of the Trump Presidency imo.
