In my opinon, it is naive to presume subjects such as politicians or artists would somehow 'forget' about the camera that follows them. And even if they did, the material that is shown is ultimately shaped by the filmmakers' selection and editing process. I would argue that truth is always tied to subjectivity and that the more documentarians acknowledge this, the better.
