After retiring in 1998, pensioner Mary Morley began saving money from her state pension to ensure she wouldn’t be a burden to her family as she got older. By the time she reached 86-years-old, Mary had saved an impressive £32,000 - enough, she hoped to carry her through until the end of her life. That was until her local council demanded she paid back over 80% of the money, all because she had unknowingly saved double the amount people claiming housing benefit are allowed to accumulate. As her appeal to overturn the decision is rejected - we’re joined by Mary’s granddaughter Mafalda Johnson, alongside financial expert Victoria Bischoff.

Congrats on your early retirement, Interesting indeed! Currently, I am in dire need of investment advice or tips. Last year, I hesitated and failed to take any action until the year concluded. However, this year, I am determined to try something new, as I am very receptive to various investment ideas.

@@Alexedmartin. Generally, investing requires higher knowledge. For this reason, It's important to have a solid support structure (financial consultant) to guide you through especially in asset picking. I operate with (Regina Louise Collaro) an investment advisor who partners with a licensed wealth management firm. For the record, the experience has been the best for my finance. She is quite popular for her services so you might have heard of her.
She made me financially stable investing through her help, now I earn on a monthly basis through her passive income strategy..So I’ll advise you do get a good Investment advisor for yourself.

@@donaldgaff2271 I value your recommendations. It's challenging to locate a trustworthy person. I could really use your investment advisor after seeing how much money you've made through investing. If you don't mind revealing her information, that is.

Worse than that, if you retire early on ill-health pension, the DWP will deduct it all. No gain what's so ever from your pension payments. In this lady's case, the lesson is spend it on a good life, a comfortable retirement, - don't let it build up above and beyond what you are being given in benefits.
