Super excited to see Mae whitman. I’m so used to seeing her voice acting work. For those of you who don’t know, some of her voice acting work includes katara from ATLA, amity from the owl house, april o’Neil from teenage mutant ninja turtles, and tinker bell in the 2008 movies and games, among many others.
If you wanna see more live-action Mae (other than The DUFF) I recommend the show Good Girls! It's a comedy thriller about 3 moms who turn to a life of crime out of desperation. Retta (Donna from Parks and Rec) and Christina Hendricks (Joan from Mad Men) star too. The dynamic between them and Mae's character is so good and funny
I’ve never heard of those movies, except Tinker Bell & TMNT, which must be the animated version. I think people know her, tho. She’s been in many popular films/shows, like Parenthood, Good Girls, The Duff, Arrested Development, Chicago Hope, Scott Pilgrim v. The World, etc. Plus, she did a lot of work as a child actor (Hope Floats, One Fine Day, When a Man Loves a Woman, Independence Day). I loved her in Parenthood & Good Girls.
She followed her mom's (Pat Musick) footsteps.
I can't hear her voice and not think of Tinker Bell, Katara, and Amity.

Reminds me of Herman's Head, not saying that it's been done before, but that the concept is interesting and should be used if they can pull it off, very few trailers catch my attention these days, but this one got me interested and will definitely give it a look.
this series isn't perfect and has a lot of flaws in it's writing, but that shouldn't deter it from the sheer promising talent in this show, the two main leads do a phenomal job this season throughout, their backstories and insecurities are written suprisingly well and realistically for such a goofy show. not to mention the humor, this show knows not to take itself too seriously, it's a rom com musical for christ's sake, but in that you find this series' unique sense of humor indearing. i love this show, and while it could have been better in some aspects, this show really shines where it needs to as a musical.
it's been 2 months since this series aired and i hate to see it just swept under the rug so easily. it's definitely worth a rewatch and deserves more attention ❤
