This could be so so so so cool but it has not been executed well. These dancers say they are fully classically trained but when they do pirouettes and echappes and other classical steps there is no turn out, bad timing, sickled feet, bent knees and a multitude of other things. Even when they do the hip hop movements they don't go fully over the box and some of them look like they don't even have the strength to be on pointe, jumping up instead of articulating through the shoe. I think if they actually found dancers who had been properly trained in ballet who also do hip hop this could look amazing but for now I just can't really enjoy it. I love the idea of all the different body types, but it doesn't give them an excuse to not dance in uniform. Also I feel like they're being on pointe for the sake of being like "wow i'm on pointe" and it doesn't really benefit the dance. The reason ballerinas wore pointe shoes was to create a sense of weightlessness and look graceful. Apart from this not looking good it is also damaging to wear and dance with pointe shoes wrong. I just hope someone professional comes in to fix this up because it could really go somewhere. Also if you're going to tell me not to judge until i could do it, I am a dancer who has danced for at least 10 years and I have had professional classes in ballet en pointe and hip hop so.
I’ve watched the same group on a programme with Harry Connick Jr. Where they tried teaching him Hiplet by getting him to wear Pointe shoes live on the Programme. No experience at all, laughing and joking and holding him up fully supported whilst teaching him the basic moves. They obviously treat it as a gimmick. Amber Loft I think most of the dancers are students so and point work is where a lot of people stumble so I cut them some slack. It's not easy to have arm control just walking on point, let alone whipping your back like Beyonce.
Agreed. It's such a shame because the choreography was captivating and dynamic, displaying a number of skills. However, the timing and the placement of the dancers could've used some work to avoid that sloppy or awkward feel to it. Definitely a good start, in spite of all of this, considering the style is still very new and fresh.
I've seen a lot of videos of the infamous Hiplet group and I love the idea but I'm not a fan of this group. Their timing is off, one girl didn't know the choreo and the entire dance just seemed so disconnected. I feel like the entire performance just wasn't prepared. To be able to successfully pull of hiplet, you've gotta be able to successfully use your point shoes. Most of the feet in this performance weren't the best they could be.
I like the idea of what they're doing. Just wish their technique was cleaner. Everyone didn't dance with the same intensity, which gave me the impression of amateur performance as well and I dont want to think like that. It's obvious they've been trained b/c pointe is not easy. must have a strong ballet base & ankles.
@@caitlynboylan94 they're literally all dancing behind their box. I can't stand seeing all these statements saying they've been "classically trained." There's no fricken way with how many of them are sickling and rolling their ankles.
you can't just wear ballet shoes and go en Pointe and call it a solid 50% mix of ballet. that would be like using a samurai sword to cut vegetables. you're taking a dance style that takes decades to master and comparing it to the ease of dancing hiphop.
Tipsylou as a VERY classically trained dancer, I absolutely agree with you on everything except the very last sentence. True hip hop with actual artistry is not easy at all. It is just as serious of a dance form than any other and deserves the same respect
I agree with you but on Hip Hop being easy. I've seen plenty of ballerinas struggle with Hip Hop Choreography. So I wouldn't downplay one genre just to make another genre look better. That's like me as a Classically trained singer, downplaying how much work Broadway singers do, all because we use different techniques in singing and performing.
@@angelettejones8882 of course they'd struggle, they'd probably struggle to also do the can-can, because its a dance they haven't attempted before and all new dances are tricky at first. But to compare ballet and hip hop dance as equal difficulty is absurd.
@@tipsycat27 However they can get it technically as much as they want but if they can't get the essence of it is still not hip hop. They are two totally different genres with two totally different technical aspects that takes years to build
I like the idea but it just doesn't look pleasing, some of it looks bad for the feet and just plain awkward, but keep developing, looks cool for all types of ppl to try
aBi mAy to me it looks like it is all timing and some corrections in techniques. Very small corrections. Sad thing is, I think with the errors they wouldn't place in a competition. Lots of potential.
It looks more like african dance than hip hop! And def awkward! My daughtters are ballerinas and this looks weird... not graceful! But it could be cool with reall hip hop!
Am I the only person who finds it super weird when dancers supporting legs are bent when en pointe? For example, when they are casually walking around while on the box of their shoe... it just looks awkward to me. I don't mind them mixing pointe and hip hop but I definitely think some of the moves could use some altering. Also, those walks that I mention are also terrible for the health of their toes and ankles. Neat idea but could be better planned and executed.
Some things are actually suppose to be done with a slight bend of the knee on pointe. Like the hopping and stuff and walks. But SLIGHT bend, their just overdoing it maybe to get a better Hip Hop feel to it. My teacher would call this Street Ballet, hiplet is a terrible name.
I saw that too and each time, it made my knees hurt. Also I love the idea of combining the two, but the only ballet thing they did, mostly, was walk en pointe for no reason. It just didn't make sense to have the pointe shoes there, i all they are gonna do with them is just walk on the tips.
From another video the hiplets mention they get overlooked because they're black..... I guess all the timing issues and lack of practice have nothing to do with it.
They're a dance group and there's music playing... It's supposed to be on beat. They probably just need a better choreographer to push them to their potential.
This is so cool. I hope this catches on. Ignore the negative comments ladies, you're a shining star for dancers who may not "fit" the classical ballet image. I love the merging of the two cultures.
yall some haters damn. these girls and their teacher are revolutionary. if you got that many problems, start your own damn ballet school, get your own damn dancer.
Beautiful and new concept and with continued training this form of dance with become incredible. I love the courage and dare to dance on such a huge stage with a new type of dance. Keep it up and I would love to see Hip-Let on TedxSanFrancisco again even better.
For all the people negatively criticizing, at least someone out there is trying to experiment and there will always be room for improvement- especially in the early stages.
I can’t wait until the founder of this dance creatively perfect this craft! I guarantee you’re going to have so many Hiplet studios or classes flooding the dance industry. Just like the art hip hop dance is booming they’re going to take hold to this too. So all you haters can miss me with all your negativity!!!!!
For everyone that is making a negative comments remember this is another form of dance that's probably meant to have more freedom in movement. What's so bad about trying something new? The majority of blacks are not excepted in ballet companies to dance on stage so what they are doing now is no problem. If you like what they are doing fine. If not then that's fine too, but please don't be so negative.
Irene S i like the idea but the execution was poor. much more practice was needed as they did not dance simultaneously and the placing was completely off...
Hiplet is actually historically very in line with ballet, its exactly how Filippo Taglioni invented pointe shoes in the first place, by creating movements for his daughter Marie Taglioni. Taglioni is literally responsible for the Romantic era of ballet by reconditioning the technique based on movements that were unconventional at the time but that would highlight his daughter's unconventional body. This style is a breath of life into ballet.
I'm all for new dance styles and I love the use of traditional african dance, but I wouldn't call them ballerinas since ballet is such a strict style and it doesn't interlace apart from pointe shoes.
Swoll Arms dude all she was saying was that the “ballet” technique wasn’t actually ballet. It was closer to some very classical jazz I think. To be honest, I’m not sure what to call it. Maybe a subtype of musical theatre?
it's a great concept but it does have a sense of something new and not fully formed. while some of the hip hop style moves look good, some of them seem to jar against the more classical movement. I'm loving this generally though. beautiful talented ladies.🖒
Lovin this!!! Missy little one in the front is like Janet Jackson. Hiplet is so creative and giving space for people to mix their own culture into dance.
They said they were discriminated against in ballet for being black? By looking at their ballet technique here, it could just have been that they weren't good enough for the classical ballet world.
Anja Fourie they probably are good enough, from a technical standpoint. But since all the dancers are of different body types and heights, which is not common in ballet, they don't look uniform at all. Also, since this Hip Hop/Ballet thing is new, of course it would have problems. I'm sure ballet had a lot of weird things going on when it just started too, but since it's had years to refine itself it looks good today. It doesn't mean they're not as good because if they've been classically trained, of course they are and sometimes... pocs are judged more harshly. Simply, the execution is bad while the idea is good.
Anja Fourie Yes, because most of them aren't the typical complexion for ballerinas and have curves. Misty Coleman didn't do much for black girls in ballet so they made a new dance style similar to ballet to make black girls girl more welcome.
I personally loved their moves, freeing yet structured and I know its such hard work and strain to do en pointe and groove at the same time (I can hardly imagine! it is more difficult!) so timing comes as an issue but if you see it as modern dancing, I see it. More energy and vibe, loving these young ballerinas!
I think this is incredible! There are so many negative comments, take it for what it is and appreciate it folks! These dancers obviously worked hard and put their heart into dancing this out! Y'all rocked it!!!
Y'all, I wouldn't expect perfection just yet- these girls are pretty young, and Hiplet is still really new. I agree that Hiplet has a lot of potential and could be something really cool.
I've seen newer videos of this group doing much better, and when it's clean, this freaking rocks. The problem is flat that they aren't hitting their cues when they should be- ballet OR hiphop moves. If anything, their pointe work is better than some of their other dance moves! Pause the video at 1:42 and you can see that all three girls are at a different point in their arm movement in that second. At 1:46, I'm fairly sure two of the three did a completely different move from the third! Pause again at 1:49 and check hand placement. On the turn that follows immediately after, each dancer completes the turn at a different time. This routine is riddled with those kinds of tiny mistakes that make a dance seem sloppy rather than clean. That kind of messy-ness doesn't fly in ballet, and it doesn't fly in competitive hiphop dancing either. I think it's obvious that this isn't about the mixture of dances or the girls being bad at ballet, it's that this routine was rushed and could have used a lot more polish.
For every person who has a critical word about this dance company, I would like to see them do better. Either form your own "hiplet" company and sell tickets, choreograph your own performance and share it on youtube or train up dancers to outperform these ladies in a competition. Everyone can talk, but very few actually can do. Kudos to Homer Bryant and the young ladies who are actually DOING it. You have pushed the envelope and birthed something new. That is what art is about.
I like it and I understand where they coming from. But I also believe they need to merge in classical ballet moves such as triple turns and leaps with the hip hop moves
I've never liked ballet but when I saw hiplet I understood that it could be a proper basis for something wonderful. Moreover, it looks fantastic by their gorgeous movements full of beauty and freedom that I can't see in original ballet. You girls are awesome!!! Really want to see hiplet becoming more popular because I enjoy watching it so much!
I don't know I want to like this but I think there should be more interesting steps put in. It's still a new form of dance, so I get it but it's a bit boring. Also, the arms are a bit too floppy and awkward looking. I can't wait to see how this progresses though!
Akasha C-Z because they chose not to dance like stiff people??? Come on ballet is a STIFF form of dance so of course rhythmical movements in the eyes of stiflings can be intimidating just wait... with time this art form will supersede stiff nations😂
I have done ballet, tap, ballroom, modern, hip hop and belly dancing. Ballet is not stiff. It is strength and technique that is put into a controlled form of movement. You must not be a dancer or a person very knowledgeable about dance because you misinterpret grace and discipline with stiffness. I don't know what the hell you mean with "stiff nations" and "stiflings", you phrase it as if we are a race of people, which is kind of weird.
Akasha C-Z at the end of the day you're still no prima ballerina/principal dancer at any dance company worth noting with your ugly ass! Never mind my background honey because your cave dancing ass could never compare... put your box where your mouth is😂
Um how old are you? Because insulting my appearance and dancing that you have never seen before puts you in an age 12-13 range. Also, where's your profile picture? You shouldn't be insulting my appearance if you are too afraid to show yours. Also, I was invited to work with a dance company based in New York. Granted, you will most likely form a primitive argument against that.
Akasha C-Z sure won't but categorizing me as a 12-13 year old because I returned the criticism you publicly made in regards to a group of positive young black girls is equally immature... so yet again your superiority complex is refuted based on your level of hypocrisy.
This is such a cool concept, I just wish the hip hop aspect felt more confident! The music probably was a big factor that didn't help but combining two forms of dance means you have to work three as hard to master each individually, then together. Keep working hard ladies!! I'm sure it'll be more fantastic with each performance!
Yes, they were slightly off, but many dancers in things like Hollywood award shows aren't together either in their choreography. I always see mistakes in their dancing. Nobody's perfect. Their dancing could be a little "crisper' but I love the concept and they dance beautifully.
This is constructive I hope, their hands are not synced, love the concept and I know they are professionals, just thought they could get together more with hand movements
Half of them are not getting over their box and it’s making me cringe with the fear that they’re going to seriously injure themselves 😟 I definitely don’t believe they’re classically trained in ballet. That’s not a negative, it just shows in their pointe work. And injury can occur if they’re not careful. I don’t want them snapping/tearing a tendon or breaking their ankle due to the lack of support. Best of luck ladies
I'm so used to kpop choreography being really in sync that I was internally screaming at certain parts of this performance. Mostly at the first minute or so. Kpop choreography ruined dance performances for me though cuz instead of enjoying the artistic side to dances, I catch myself nitpicking at dancers being out of sync. Aiyaaaaa~~
I love the idea of Ballet and Hip-Hop being fused together. Ballet and Hip-Hop are totally opposite it's so unique how both styles are fused together. As a fellow dancer, my only feedback would be work on precision. Over than that well done 👍 😁
Someone suggested doing away with Ballet all together and just keeping this style of dance. I don't know how I feel about that. Any thoughts?.? The thought was traditional ballet is old and boring while this style is fresh and new and adds more energy and life.
I really like them, and they seem really cool. The style is so unique! I really just think they need to be a bit more I sync and controlled in their movements
Oh god their annies on point scares me. They really can injure theirselves! Just because you wear the pointe shoes doesnt mean you can actually be en pointe.. :(
I absolutely love this. I just want the timing of the routine to be on point. I know that this something new to the world but timing is everything. When timing is not together it seems and looks like messy. I am not trying to be mean but i feel to stand the test of time and to stand up and surpass the European standards there must be unity inside the dance. Perform and do your best not just to get through the sequence and off the stage. Everyone's count should be the same.
Wow, you'd think since they got a chance to shine at TEDx they would put a little more work in. So sloppy, I felt like I was watching young children performing.
Ashley Serket Girl, your face is sloppy. I'd like to see you do better. Moreover at least they're making moves in the world whereas you're an ugly cow with criticism that isn't constructive because you have a sad ass life.
The concept seems like a very interesting and unique disruption to ballet with amazing potential. The problem is that it’s being danced by quite unskilled dancers who most cannot even get up on their box during the pointe work. To put that in perspective, most ballet schools require that skill when a dancer is 14 years old. Just very bad execution and unfortunately by having such embarrassing dancers will only cause this genre to be ridiculed. Such a shame.
Look, all the love to these ladies, they're really doing their own thing and that's the only important part of what I'm gonna say. But, to equate this with hip-hop it would either have to incorporate something from hiphop dance (that is, breakin', but also potentially elements of popping and other funk-styles) or be done to hiphop music. This is neither. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it only dilutes what real hiphop is.
Dance is an evolving artform as it is naturally progressive. Hiplet is one of it. It can be beautiful. But not this group, not this performance. The execution is terrible. How they stand en pointe is shitty. And where's the swag in hiphop? Blending in the inspirations, disciplines & techniques of both dance forms to come up with a new & exciting expression is not in this performance. This is tacky!
Potpot Pinili personally it feel like they aren't truly mashing the two genres into one as it looks like they are doing hip on the upper body and ballet with their feets as they are two seperate thing instead of one whole
Thank goodness for fresh creative perspectives and artistic expressions in dance & movement. This is inspiring, especially for people of color who have been kept back from ballet for so, so long. Thank you Homer Hans Bryant for inventing Hiplet Ballerinas! Congratulations Ladies on your success!
I think that this is good by they weren't in sync and really over or on the box of their pointe shoe for it to be safe. They should not have performed this at all with out proper practice AND correction.
This is such a an awesome concept, but I kinda felt like there were just a bunch of solos going on. also very few of them seemed to have a decent/good arch.
Whats so new and fresh about this?.. i have seen it before and better execution, their timing was off and posture for most were very sloppy. They say they are classically trained, has anyone seen videos of them actually doing a full ballet routine?.. i think hiplet can have a great future but this group in particular seems to me like the girls who wanted to be ballerinas and just were not good enough to get into an actual performing arts academy thus they started this group to do "their own thing" and again kudos for possibly creating a new dance fusion. Also in a video one of them played the race card and its easy to play a card where someone's judging you or doesnt give you a chance based on appearance but the fact is that you yourself need allot of improvement. its like these reality shows with singers, dont go up there knowing you arent good or great (yet) and then say they didnt like you cause you're fat, too skinny, african america, hispanic, latino or whatever the case may be, no.... You just werent good enough by their standards and tjat doesnt mean you dont have talent, it just means you need to improve.
For the negative comments please watch some of their other videos, this wasn't their best performance. And this song choice doesn't fit them to me personally
That does NOT look easy :O Considering its a new idea, the slightly off timing is alright. This is amazing! I can really see this taking off. If I knew how to dance en pointe, id totally do this. Unfortunately im not as amazing as them
not impressed. hiplet has so much potential but not only are the dancers sloppy, the choreography is too cliche, they need a group more dedicated to perfecting their dance moves or hiplet isnt going to get anywhere
they definitely need to work more on their feet and more practice standing on pointe. Some of them looked like they are about to fall. but in general, the dance is awesome.

It's obvious they've been trained b/c pointe is not easy. must have a strong ballet base & ankles.
If they've been trained it wasn't properly. They are rolling on their toes half the dance.
Yes! I'm a Russian principal dancer. This is more hip hop on pointe which is terrible for their ankles and feet but whatever.
UlmanRule I wonder what it would look like with better execution. I guess people don't realize ballet is in every form of dance.
Girl they are trying to hurt themselves n your oppionion isnt weird im 99% surw they arernt pulling up and getting on top of theyre boxes properly too
Don't worry I think it's weird too but you can do anything on pointe sometimes I see people do contemporary on pointe
Being en pointe is incredibly bad for your toes and feet anyways, so why not.
I get what point they are trying to make (go them
i love the idea of hiplet but why go into dance if ya'll can't even be on beat and in time did you guys not practise or something
Most of them can't even get over their box correctly en pointe
Daddy clearly u are not getting that it is a free form of dance not meant to be a certain form. or on beat
They're a dance group and there's music playing... It's supposed to be on beat. They probably just need a better choreographer to push them to their potential.
*secretly using the default garageband sounds
Lauren Brooke i was thinking the same lmfaooo when i was like 9 i made music in garageband with all of those exact sounds
hahahaha, really! that's so sad. the whole was amateurish. I'm trying to find a good example of the potential of hiplet, so far finding bupkis on YT
Lauren Brooke YESSS lol im pretty sure ive made this song before
Who cares sure they feel the same when u all try to dance hip hop to fake gangsta rap😂
but I don't dance hip hop to fake gangsta rap. Anything else?
This is so cool. I hope this catches on. Ignore the negative comments ladies, you're a shining star for dancers who may not "fit" the classical ballet image. I love the merging of the two cultures.
BRIA I agree, it's so totally modern and so totally cool. Beautiful.
no , don't ignore the comments about not being in proper form..these girls are going to permanently injure themselves..
Lol why weren’t they on their boxes completely
yall some haters damn. these girls and their teacher are revolutionary. if you got that many problems, start your own damn ballet school, get your own damn dancer.
Beautiful and new concept and with continued training this form of dance with become incredible. I love the courage and dare to dance on such a huge stage with a new type of dance. Keep it up and I would love to see Hip-Let on TedxSanFrancisco again even better.
I loved it, and to all those who just don't understand , go watch what you like! No one is forcing you to watch!
To be fair, most of the comments are people trying to give constructive criticism
It's still cultural appropriation, so is the blonde hair on that one african.
Irene S 👏🏽👏🏽
Irene S i like the idea but the execution was poor. much more practice was needed as they did not dance simultaneously and the placing was completely off...
J Lib - it wasn't completely off
J Lib I think your blind
GRTV as someone that choreographs dances and wins every competition im pretty sure i know what im talking about
Hiplet is actually historically very in line with ballet, its exactly how Filippo Taglioni invented pointe shoes in the first place, by creating movements for his daughter Marie Taglioni. Taglioni is literally responsible for the Romantic era of ballet by reconditioning the technique based on movements that were unconventional at the time but that would highlight his daughter's unconventional body. This style is a breath of life into ballet.
JM Hoff no..it isn't. Europeans invented ballet...THIS is not ballet.
This shows that the performing arts are also creative arts. Wonderful!
Anja Fourie No. I'm black and did ballet before. Their sloppy execution has nothing to do with it.
Anja Fourie Yes, because most of them aren't the typical complexion for ballerinas and have curves. Misty Coleman didn't do much for black girls in ballet so they made a new dance style similar to ballet to make black girls girl more welcome.
Jazzy Pizza Lover 10 Do you mean Misty Copeland?
Anja Fourie you probably never seen they're studio before it's full of wonderful things, but again you probably don't even dance
they make look going up on point freaking easy and it is not stop destroying ballet
There are so many tragedies here, the greatest one being that I can’t ever unsee this.
I personally loved their moves, freeing yet structured and I know its such hard work and strain to do en pointe and groove at the same time (I can hardly imagine! it is more difficult!) so timing comes as an issue but if you see it as modern dancing, I see it. More energy and vibe, loving these young ballerinas!
annabelle7123 they are not ballerinas.
My feet are stressed out just from watching this omg
Huntress Artemis Id be more worried about my face if i were you.
We are so creative 🥰😍🤩🥰😍. When a door closes on us, we build and open our own.
Has anyone ever seen step up? The one that deals with the ballerina, and how they improvised and infused hip hop and ballet????
For every person who has a critical word about this dance company, I would like to see them do better. Either form your own "hiplet" company and sell tickets, choreograph your own performance and share it on youtube or train up dancers to outperform these ladies in a competition. Everyone can talk, but very few actually can do. Kudos to Homer Bryant and the young ladies who are actually DOING it. You have pushed the envelope and birthed something new. That is what art is about.
I was supposed to see them in person tomorrow, but the show was canceled due to weather. Can't wait until it's rescheduled!
This show was fantastic. One of their best performance. And, the choreography was awesome.
I love the idea but this was confusing.
For some reason I feel like they're dancing to "Formations" but it's dubbed over because of copyright
Yes, they were slightly off, but many dancers in things like Hollywood award shows aren't together either in their choreography. I always see mistakes in their dancing. Nobody's perfect. Their dancing could be a little "crisper' but I love the concept and they dance beautifully.
All hiplet dancers please go to americas got talent I'm telling you they will love you bc it has never been done before on the show.
This is constructive I hope, their hands are not synced, love the concept and I know they are professionals, just thought they could get together more with hand movements
Uff. I would be more on board if they were properly over their box and utilising their pointe shoes in a more safe and clean way! :D
Mesmerizing! Beautiful. Wow~
Aiyaaaaa~~
nalletoki yes this was terribly coordinated
Someone who understands.
SV SCRIB they originally danced to a dif song to so this dance does bot match
sheepelis no its not the song that they're talking about its how nsync together they were
nalletoki I read through the responses to see if anyone else thought that way
I love the idea of Ballet and Hip-Hop being fused together. Ballet and Hip-Hop are totally opposite it's so unique how both styles are fused together. As a fellow dancer, my only feedback would be work on precision. Over than that well done 👍 😁
These young ladies connect two opposite music genres into amazing dance, movement, and cultural bliss!
im worried that they're going to destroy their feet and ankles 😧 that looks dangerous to do en pointe
I love how this combines classic ballet with modern hip-hop
Great concept but, they need to tighten up and be sharper and more fluid with their movements and togetherness.
their technique is horrible and just screams injury..how did their teachers let them go in pointe if their feet dont even go over the box..
That was cool! It will look even better once it’s practiced some more so all the dancers move in synch.
Do hiplet dancers go on pointe more than traditional dancers?
Mad Hatter depends
Beautiful. Young women are so creative. Great performance.
Potpot Pinili
i think it is confusing. the different hights and executions in every move made it hard to watch at some times
hiplet is only just starting to evolve
Potpot Pinili not to me
Potpot Pinili hiplet is just some different dance but on pointe
Amazing, just amazing, the coordination is just amazing....could use a little more work on some arabasque's but still...
They're destroying their feet
Thank goodness for fresh creative perspectives and artistic expressions in dance & movement. This is inspiring, especially for people of color who have been kept back from ballet for so, so long. Thank you Homer Hans Bryant for inventing Hiplet Ballerinas! Congratulations Ladies on your success!
Kind of reminds me of jazz and then some ballet mixed in then of course with some hip hop. Very cool!
I think that this is good by they weren't in sync and really over or on the box of their pointe shoe for it to be safe. They should not have performed this at all with out proper practice AND correction.
Who recognises the tunes they used in their music from garage band in this performance
Maybe it does need some cleaning up. But i can say that ballet has a new meaning and will be the come up for the future. It's reinvented!!!!
good idea! something incredible and new!
The girl with the blonde hair was absolutely stunning
This is such a an awesome concept, but I kinda felt like there were just a bunch of solos going on. also very few of them seemed to have a decent/good arch.
reminds me of afro jazz. I don't know about everyone else but I like it
What is the meaning of “on their boxes” in ballet? Someone please teach me😭😭
where your toes are wich is the front of the shoe therefor the box is when the are not entirly on top of the shoe sry im bad at explaining things
Beautiful idea and great try, but moves are somewhat sloppy and off beat.
Keep working at it when as you keep getting strong and more aware of you body in space you will be right where you need to be to blow it up.
For the negative comments please watch some of their other videos, this wasn't their best performance. And this song choice doesn't fit them to me personally
Hmmm many if the commentors need to see ballet, hip-hip and then hiplet. Many of y'all are basing this on a ballet scale versus ballet and hip hop.
That does NOT look easy :O Considering its a new idea, the slightly off timing is alright. This is amazing! I can really see this taking off. If I knew how to dance en pointe, id totally do this. Unfortunately im not as amazing as them
These women should not be allowed pointe shoes. I am genuinely terrified every time they releve and eleves are even worse
THOSE LEG AND ANKLE MUSCLES. AMAZING. BEAUTIFUL
not impressed. hiplet has so much potential but not only are the dancers sloppy, the choreography is too cliche, they need a group more dedicated to perfecting their dance moves or hiplet isnt going to get anywhere
The little move at 1:47 was so cute!
they definitely need to work more on their feet and more practice standing on pointe. Some of them looked like they are about to fall. but in general, the dance is awesome.
