My gf of 2 years left me a couple weeks ago and totally destroyed my life. She took our pets with her and took them to a shelter. I had no idea. I am studying for the security + to make myself feel worth a damn
Started the video thinking "Oh here we go again with this mess...", but she is right. Projects and labs put you ahead. Know how to work your way through a lab, do labs put them on GH. The only thing I don't agree with are the layoffs. Still more demand for SE and devs than cyber people devs aren't specifically targeted per say. AI will in cyber will make an analyst more capable, most AI now are going integrated into tools to allow natural language queries. No more need to write 30 line queries for alerts. Also better threat intel and alert prioritization. Imagine running an alert to full completed write up in minutes. Imagine always being guided to the right alert instead of looking for which priority alert is the most priority alert. Haven't seen a tool yet to fully automate a soc and I doubt any would take on that liability.
I'm kinda regretting getting my cyber security cert because it's literally impossible to find a position that doesn't require 6+ years of experience or a bachelors degree... Feels like a waste of time now imo.
This is exact answer on topic that I was thinking of. First I entered Cisco Introduction to Cybersecurity and Introduction to Linux. Then I enrolled with Cisco Cybersecurity Essentials. And now I have a really hard time to decide if I need to go for Cisco CyberOps or Google It Support and Google Cybersecurity Certification. Got a 4 year background of working as Technical Support Manager. So now I decided not to go for CyberOps for now, but start with Google IT support+Google Cybersecurity certifications + 3 books - Linux for dummies, Cybersecurity for dummies and Networking for dummies. After all of these Im planning to build projects dor my CV. Thanks for video and good luck to everyone;)
I was in a community she created some time back . She really did have some great ideas and actively helped us find and be aware of resources! Wish it was back up and running!
Hi Nicole, Not sure whether this is the platform to ask but I applied for upskill to cyber programme and received a mail to book a call , I mailed back with the details but yet to get a response. Am I not selected or something?
