Thanks for the video, it takes me back to my days as a teenager. In early 1960s I was using WW2 surplus dynamotors to power my mobile amateur radio gear. Later, a GE New York State Police Pre-Prog mobile with a dynamotor for push-pull 2E26's on two meters.
What are the wires on the outside of the two caps for? I have a 1940 General Electric RADIO RECEIVER Type CG-46116, and it has one of these dynamotors on it. I wondered how these things work and what's inside them, Thank you for the video.
I'm a true dinosaur. Mentioned a dynamotor the other day and the other person had no idea. I had to explain what they were, how they worked, and why we needed such things. I was born in 48, USN, 68-174, ETR-2, NAS Miramar 70-74, I fixed GCA RADAR and TACAN all vacuum tube equipment. Went to GCA maintenance school in GlyncoGA in 69-70 in one of the old blimp hangers
Do you know where i could find an affordable working 24v dynomotor i have a BC-683-A recever from 42 and i realy want it to get it back to working condition I would also like to know more about the recever i have il have a video about mine soon on my channel
The end castings are marked "HV" (High Voltage) and "LV" (Low Voltage). I sure do like the sound of a dynamotor. Thanks for sharing this neat video!
Superb thanks for your time

Toothbrush and isopropyl achohol to clean out the old grease.
I had one of these. Had no idea what it was for so I dumped on the beach.
