A95X did a great job with this box. Don't mind the firmware is not rooted there will be a rooted firmware for it. Root is causing problems for then to get certification in certificates pertaining to safety.

I have been getting steady OTA updates Nick ever since i flashed the box from the original firmware to version 20210427 since then i have had almost 4 other OTAs i just got another one today 20210713 but doesnt appear root access has been given hoping for me OTA updates
Aida 64 says "rooted device" but still no root just yet on this latest firmware 20210713
Update to me are not useful unless they grant features such as Nav bar/status bar and root access.
If you're looking for complete official Android boxes then go buy one. A Chinese box does have it's advantages given that hardware specs are great and usually the best for running games and video that the boxes support. These boxes need to become legit and recognized globally because they can really just about do almost everything. Thanks for the video 👍

I don't know why these boxes don't come with a cooling fan.... heat can throttle performance ... I still have my k3 model box years now and I modded and installed a cooling fan and more vent holes ..and the box works even better than before

Many people are reporting that the a95x F4 firmware has many bugs when installing Apks and Apps. Did you notice it? Is the a95x F3 more stable?
In my line of work one of the negatives, and the challenges I face, is that I cannot focus on one TV Box for very long. After I create the video I have to move on to another box. This means that I can very well miss problems that can arise from a long term use that was not reflected during the initial video. So I cannot see if I am experiencing problems because am not currently using it. As for the A95X express three firmware, that cannot be used on the F4 because it's not compatible
I see in older comments that the box has been prone to overheating. Has this been sorted out? Is it still an issue? Is there a DIY fix to eliminate overheating? Thanks for the help.
Now this is still the issue and what you need to do is to purchase a mini cooling fan and place it below the box if you are concerned. One like this - amzn.to/3X3AdLo
I bought this box and love it. I like the lights on the top, but they can get annoying at night. I guess I am a little late with my comments.

There is one more call the X3 Pro I believe it came from A95X factory the last of the S905X3 line. I have it and will do the video soon.

Thanks for the review. Did you connect it to the audio receiver by an optical or an HDMI cable? I am asking because I only have a 5.1 sound system and an optical to analog 5.1 converter. So I need to know if the optical port is working properly. --Regards.
I connected using HDMI passthrough, but why use optical when HDMI can give you both 5.1 and 7.1 audio? All you have to do is set the receiver to to 5.1 or 7.1 as the need may be. The optical port gives you Dolby Atmos and DTS only.

I have already tried, but there is no Amlogic S905X4 dtb (device tree) released yet. So Armbian cannot start to install until someone releases the dtb for it.
Is it normal that it heats up? Nothing crazy, just warm, except on the bottom, where it gets pretty hot. It also stays warm after turning off, but not as much.
Yes it is normal to het warm or even hot at times especially if you play a game. Make sure to place it where it can breathe. If you are worried about the heat place it upside-down as a cooling trick.

I know you can connect an HD and a couple of usb devices. As for more than one HDMI I am not sure. More than that, I have not encountered a hub that provides more than one HDMI port.

Comprei logo no lançamento , infelizmente a minha foi comprada logo no lançamento dela e veio um lote com problema no wifi e bluetothh , fazendo o mesmo não funcionar corretamente e super aquecer no local onde tinha na placa os modulo wifi e bluetoofh em conjunto , infelizmente mesmo vendo tutorias de trocar o capacitor que estava trocada ela não funciona corretamente , depois de 5 meses ela começou a reiniciar sozinha e ligar quando quer , mesmo mudando sua rom ela persistia no erro, bati muita cabeça com essa box a95x F4 , por fim ela morreu tempos depois e nem liga mais , e uma boa box potente rodava todos os jogos , jogava retro game do DOUG jogos da play store mais super aquece muito , precisa de um cooler ou troca do dissipador , gostava muito dela mais morreu, ja tive a h96pro S912 muito top também E hoje estou com uma tx9 tanix nunca me deu dor de cabeça , talvez não tive sorte com minha A95x F4
Essa é a triste realidade com eletrônicos, você simplesmente não sabe se vai durar. Acho que é por isso que você tem uma garantia.

I would go with the TOX1 for its awesome features same as Ugoos with root switch and Dolby TrueHD. I would choose the A95X only if I need AV1 decoding for videos which is not widely used yet.

Please help! Am having 2 issues with this device. 1 it normally hangs and i will need to remove the adapter and replug. 2 when i install xender on it, it display vertical.
Hanging is usually a sign of overheating so ensure proper ventilation or even a cooling fan.

Well TvBox Stop...I just want viewers to know that I received my A95X F4 and it has many many bugs , i would recommend to hold off for 6 months before buying this box, maybe they will do a OTA update that will fix the issues. I checked the temperature of this box and I use a fan underneath and it was 137 F that's hot.

Yes indeed the LEDs do indeed add more heat. Turn them off for a reduction.

No official Miracast app on this. It comes with Airscreen app that is SD quality. This is not Android TV OS it's mobile version. The launcher makes it look like the ATV OS. No google assistant only voice search it you have a voice remote. the remote that comes with it is IR.

Sinceramente, unica coisa que vejo de `vantagem` do S905x4, somente o Android 10, que o S905x3, a perfomance praticamente e a mesma nesse mesmo Android, prova do que eu estou falando e o Chromecast With Android TV q utiliza S905x3, faz 600 pontos no Sling Short, e 6000+ no Icestorm por ter memoria DDR4.

Please, why boxes running the mobile version of Android should be rooted? Because of better navigation, user experience? Apps? Netflix is not important to me if that is the reason..
With word "rooting" do you mean making it a box with Android TV like Mi Box s? Or rooting is something else - does a95x F3 come "rooted" right away when you buy it?
To put it simply. There are apps on the play store and APK download that require the box to be rooted for them to work. This does not apply to streaming apps or APK downloads, those can work whether the box is rooted or not. However Android boxes are no longer used for just basic streaming. They are now being used for gaming, there are being used for crypto mining, there are being used for digital signage, there being used as DVR's etc. Now there are certain apps that cannot work on the box if the box is rooted. For example. For you to play touchscreen games on an Android box that has no touchscreen function you need a specialized app called a gamepad keymapping app, that takes the buttons of the gamepad and apply it as it touchscreen function somewhere on the screen. These particular apps need root access to the box's core system files or else they will not work. Another example is when the box does not come with a navigation bar there is a specialized app called the menu button app, that acts as an alternative navigation bar. This app also requires root access for it to work properly. Another critical issue about not having root access on your Android box, is that the Google play store detects that the box is not rooted and hence blocks the installation of certain apps that require root whereby restricting the play store.

Hi under settings Remote & Accessories you can add devices but no advanced options to control Bluetooth it's always on.

A95X F4 works with Disney Plus gives audio and video once u have the correct version of the app ....also works with HBO Max ....tthe dolby digital audio works very nice

Unfortunately I don't test videos with BD in them and I have never received a request from anyone other than yourself. Most people usually asked for 4K HDR, HDR 10+, AV1 and surround sound audio decoding. So I can't promise you I'll be testing that in my future videos.

Even if I gave you an APK it will not work on this box because it's not fully Google certified, nor does it have the digital rights to protect Netflix and others from piracy. This means the APK will only be limited to 480p regardless of your premium subscription.

Purchased & just delivered today 09/07/22 . RUclips not signing In on pre install RUclips app.. but when I am installing from play store it signing in.. also when tried to update firmware, its not updating, asking for to check network.. Remote volume reducing button not working, when try to reduce volume, it exit TV mode and I have to again select from TV remote to HDMI and come back to screen. This really irritating.. Dear sir if you could download the android tv boxes build on to a usb stick like android 9 or 10 or 11 and sell them on eBay it would be great to just buy the build on a usb stick and up grade or tv boxes as many of us don’t have computer’s

this fabulous S905X4 cannot play HBO Max Audio on HDMI and cannot connect to most bluetooth speakers. But it's good to install Armbian Linux and make it a small home server.
That's because it's not a certified Android TV Box. Boxes that can play HDR marks with audio would be the Mecool models with certification, your Amazon fire TV devices, the Nvidia shield, the recent HAKOmini Pro, and a few others. What you should be looking for is boxes running Google Widevine L1 with HDCP 2.2/2.3 protection and preferably but not necessarily a Netflix ESN certification.
How do you permanently turn off the lights? You don’t always want your room lighted up by them.

The X96 X for has a faster CPU clock speed of 2.0 GHz which will deliver better gaming performance than the A95X X4 that's clocked at 1.8 GHz. As for overheating during gaming you would have to apply a cooling fan for both models.

Then this box was not suited for you. There is an app on the box to control the LED lights. A95X is one of those that don't usually provide regular updates. I see your frustrated points.
Do you know how to stop the animation at startup, the sound is too loud and I don't think about muting my tv when I switch on?

When you say you can't remove the mouse, are you referring to the mouse pointer(cursor) on the screen? Or is it something else you are referring to.

In the settings area try resetting the box. Could be a glitch, however resetting the box will also remove all your apps and set the box back to factory default settings.

A95X F4 Firmware aml_upgrade_package-x4-04-26, does not work properly. When you turn off the device and unplug it from the electricity (220V) and turn it on, you can not get into the settings or set up wifi.

In this price range the A95X F3 will give you what you want. If you are willing to spend $131.00 go with the new Ugoos AM7. Trust me cant go wrong.

If you want superior power performance minus AV1 video format the AM6B-Plus. If you want latest S905X4 with AV1 video decoder the AM7 minus the superior hexa-core CPU. However it is clocked at 2.0GHz higher than most boxes.

On the AM7 no you cannot it's not google certified, or has the DRM rights to allow it. For the official version of the MOD version of Netflix to work, the box needs Google Widevine Level 1 with HDCP 2.2 protection and not rooted.
Lack of full support for premium streaming services etc seems disadvantage.
That would be Android TV OS which some might argue is not for them, but with no root what's the point right?

i have find what happens.you can't choose 4k if tv isn't 4k.The sound is more complicated for moulti chanell resaiver.Best is from hdmi to resaiver.If it have'nt hdmi better use Nova player and Mix player

It can't. It does not have a webcam interface with social media apps.

wifi doesn't connet niether bluetooth reset it many time sometimes it shows wifi network but when try to enter it says password is wrong n after sometime wifi wont turn on and same problem with bluetooth do u have any solution for this???
No solution. It's either defective or needs firmware updating. Use LAN cable maybe.
Wifi chip is too hot. Could still save it with the wifi voltage workaround.
I have recently purchased A95X F4 Amlogic S905X4 Smart Android 11 TV Box 4K HD RUclips 4GB RAM 64GB.
I am facing a problem as it is not showing the option to manually select the audio format under the advance audio setting.
I request if anyone can help me to solve it.
In all recent boxes S905X4, S905W2 and so on do not have the settings but the decoders are there activated automatically.
@@tvboxstop But it is only decoding DTS sound format. While my AV receiver/ audio decoder supports others formats also like AC3, Dolby, Dolby digital, etc.
The device is showing other formats like Dolby, Dolby digital, Dolby HD, etc. but it is not decoding those formats as in the option menu they are in off mode and I am unable to make them on as there is no option to manually select the audio format. They are not getting on automatically.

That is unfortunate sounds like a broken box. Check the power adapter to ensure that it's outputting 5V 2A sometimes the power adapter dies.
Blown away, i've already bought one on ebay for half the price, if it comes to be legit and perform like this it was already a great buy. Also i saw your comment about a new firmware with root switch, will it come on android 11 or some other kind of firmware or maybe some update?? I am asking this because vontar did include root sw on their kk max, would be great to have android 11 on this one too!

Does it actually output 7.1 audio surround sound when playing video with 7.1 audio format? My AV Received shows SURROUND EX which 5.1 audio surround, not the discreet 7.1.

@@tvboxstop The same model that you reviewed - A95X F4. I bought it recently to replace my Mi Box 3 as A95X F4 specs show it supports passthrough ogg 5.1/7.1 downmixing. I play movies using MoviePlayer app and Kodi app - both same results. Hope you could advise what setting you did to make it works for 7.1 audio surround. Thanks,
PS: My Mi Box 3 used to support 7.1 audio surround but after firmware upgrade to Android 9 from Android 8, 7.1 audio doesn't work anymore. Whenever I play 7.1 video (movies) format, it only output 5.1 audio.
Ok in Kodi in the settings area click on standard until it says Expert. Under audio settings set output channels to 7.1. Scroll down and enable audio passthrough and all DTS options below that.
If not using Kodi use the VLC player. In the settings area set hardware acceleration to full, and under audio settings enable audio passthrough.
@@tvboxstop My setting in Kodi System Settings already with Passthrough ON ALL. Thanks for your advice - it works after setting the Audio Decoder to 7.1 speakers. However, 7.1 only works for Dolby Digital formats and not DTS-MA which still output 5.1. Luckily discovered that by turning off DTS and DTS-HD in Passthrough, 7.1 works in PCM mode. Thanks again for your help and prompt response.
Then why not set the channels to 5.1 in stead of 7.1 to be compatible with DTS

Yes inside the AV port hole at the bottom. Use a toothpick, press and hold, and then plug in power adapter and wait for recovery menu and release

Yes this one gets heated depending on what you are doing on it. So it requires a cooling fan for activities such as gaming.
