This particular scene inspired my family to start buying an entire bag of chips and container of dip for each person so we could double dip to our hearts content Seriously Seinfeld changed how my family eats chips and dip.
Easily one of the top 5 or 10 scenes of the series, pure gold. The actor gave such a magic touch to an ordinary line "and you dipped it again" with the hand gestures and the dramatic pauses, beautiful. They set him up from the beginning of the scene, whole family is mingling but this one guy is sitting on a chair silently, clearly something is off with him, and god what triggered him. But then, his single-dip-reasoning is very much the reasoning George and Seinfeld would favour on a typical day (the Larry David reasoning of things, double dip), but here George went off character since he was brimming with the over-confidence attained by the successful execution of two of his plans, the boyfriend and the certificate, so he got carried away and double dipped overtly. And to include the word "End" in Tim's final line (Just take one dip and end it), which resonates with the death in the family, that gave a sincere depth to whatever is going on in Tim's head. Kudos.
That's what made this series so great in the later years. The first few seasons they were working out the kinks. It was too talky among the main cast members. Eventually they added these great side characters.
