I mean I get the comment is a joke, but yeah at least seeing a mountain lion in the day time you can asees the situation and uaully they will stand their ground because you're usually quite bigger. They don't realize them could easily year you from limb to limb the see a bigger creature and they heaethel making a lot of complicated noises (language) and they're scared, but also curious. See some random chick in the dead of night is way scarier in that sense.

That mountain lion is just curious. Its entire posture is relaxed, the guy stumbled into its territory, and it wanted to know what he was and what he was doing. The cat wasn't going to attack him, if it was, he never would've seen it.
Mountain lions can weigh more than 200 lbs, and run up to 50 MPH. They're primarily ambush predators that attack their prey from behind similar to tigers, and go for the neck. You never turn your back on them for even a second.

The mountain lion was initially ready to stalk prey however in closer images you can see it's rather young, calm and curious. Still a major threat but in all it's more curious than threatening. A Mountain lion stalking prey would never openly turn its back and calmly walk away. It would also not do this if it felt threatened. Good job handling it.

The wandering woman in the forest in the middle of nowhere. If she was looking for help, shed be knocking on the door. Won't some of you think?
You’d think she would, but if that were me and I was lost, I’d take time thinking if I’d want to knock on the door too. Looked like she was trying to decide then decided not to. It’s scary being a woman in this world. Especially if you find yourself choosing to sleep in the woods unprotected or knock on someone’s door hoping they won’t rape/murder you. 🙁

Not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet, but I’m gonna tell everyone anyway. Never turn your back to a large cat; they have an instinctive urge to stalk and prowl. You should also refrain from running unless they’re already being aggressive. House cats chase things that move, so do all of their bigger cousins.
Exactly. Stand as tall as you can and speak loudly without backing away. Big cats are generally not interested in a difficult kill, preferring ambush. Dealing with bears is largely the same though it's advisable to back away slowly as they can move a lot faster than they look like they can. If you're dealing with a mother animal with young, pray to whatever you believe in to keep you alive if not safe.
In some East Asian countries, they apparently managed to reduce fatalities due to tigers to as good as zero... By having workers in the jungle wear masks (with faces on them) on the back of their heads.
The tigers can't figure out where the front and the back is and just go looking for less confusing prey.

Literally the worst possible thing you could do in the two most common cases of running into a bear or wildcat. Either animal will respond to you fleeing by immediately chasing and they're both substantially faster than any human.
Do NOT RUN, if it's a predator that will get you killed as it will instinctually chase you and use the fact that you have your back to it to pounce

The sounds in the woods sound remarkably like some sound effects I have had for years! Also the sounds don't seem to change in volume or pitch like you would expect when he moves his camera! Nor do either of them seem to be in any hurry to get out of their!

Mountain lion attacks are extremely rare. They are easily scared off by humans by standing your ground and shouting loudly at them. I think this guy knew that so he didn't speak extremely loud so he could get good video but turning his back was not a good idea.

Awww that mountain lion was unlikely to harm him, unless it was a mamma and her cubs were nearby, or it was sick (it looks pretty healthy to me, but I'm no expert). Cougars are ambush predators. If you see it, especially in front of you, it's not hunting you. Plus, they prefer to hunt at dawn and dusk. This one seems to just be curious about him.

That noise in the woods is actually from a frozen lake, i heard the EXACT same noise at a lake in the Yukon during the winter. The noise is caused by ice pushing up against itself.

I used to live in the middle of nowhere as a kid and GOD it was scary at night. All the weird loud sounds you would hear from the woods around you and if anything bad happened you were basically F**ked as it was so far from any real village

For the sounds heard in the snowy forest, I have a few ideas as to what it could be. First, there could be a highway nearby and the sounds of certain cars with loud exhausts could echo off of the sound barrier walls which in turn could make it louder depending how close you are - I live 5 blocks away from a highway and I hear similar sounds all of the time and seemingly the most viable option. Second, it could be some type of siren for a storm warning or such maybe even a local fire department. Thirdly, it could be an aircraft(s) that they can’t see but that would depend on their location like if they were near a military base or proving grounds.
As for the clip with the moon and a noise it just sounds like wind whistling in the trees to me.

I think the problem is how repetitive it is. I don't doubt that it's something totally mundane, but I'd actually assume is the wind in a chasm or something like that. That's a lot of loud exhausts, or a really inconsistent siren, or a lot of air craft.
@@jordanhenare7068 my local firehouse when alert in different patterns depending on the call. I used to be a member, short alerts repeating for us were a medic call, long repeating alerts for fire, long followed by short meant fire and medic, etc. I’m not sure they were just a few ideas
@@but.stephanie ours always go off with at least some sort of format, not with random lengths of breaks in between and certainly not with random pitch changes. I don't think whatever is making the noise is a formal warning system.

+greenthumb not really sure i have heard things such as once I heard what sounded like a man being beaten to death and after running to the area with the flashlights me and my brother couldn't find nothing not even a sign of a scuffle and another time we was walking through the woods and something kept throwing rocks at us and again we searched the area and there was nothing but there was even dry leaves on the ground we never even heard a footstep.

I live in the state of Queensland in Australia. There is nothing supernatural about flooded roads. They don't "appear out of nowhere". They are commonplace whenever there is heavy rain (which is almost every summer)
