I recently got into film photography a couple months ago. This happen to be right before my family trip to San Francisco. Sadly, I didn't find your channel till after my trip. The first few locations of this video were also the same locations I shot my first shots of film. I remember sitting there with my AE-1 50mm f1.8 thinking it was too long. Looking back on my pictures at those locations just gave me so much emotion, and it also reminded me why I love the film medium. Since then I also picked up a couple FD lenses and rangefinders. Your channel may have influenced my love for rangefinders a little. I can't wait to go back to SF and shoot more. Keep up the great work!
I'm a film photographer here in the Philippines. Lmao when I saw that Kopico blanca instant coffee, I was like, #Represent! HAHAHAHA. Keep up the awesome videos, my man!
Your channel is a huge help to me, i am just starting out with film photography and finding videos like yours has encouraged me to pursue this medium more. I just got my first (successful) roll of film back and i was so excited!
Man I love point & shoots. This was some seriously great photos. Just got a roll back from my Mju 1, and almost shocks me every time how great pics these little things can make. Makes me Wonder sometimes why i even bother shooting with more advanced cameras haha
Ha! Yeah, as fall blends into winter, you want to have mud&snow tires on your vehicle anyways! I grew up in Germany and you are supposed to swap out your summer tires for winter tires, so most car owners in Germany keep two sets of tires. When I moved to the States, I bought a true 4WD vehicle and slapped brand new mud&snow tires on. I live in the PNW, so the snow chains go into the trunk in October by default. Always be prepared.
Just got a Konica big mini today, popped a film in and away on my city missions with the wee one , great video, its amazing how the phone camera goes to the wayside once you start shooting film again, but always gotta get one for the gram!
Great photos! I’ve been looking for a cheap film point and shoot lately. Might have to check one of these out. Make sure you put your chains on the front next time if you’re driving a FWD car like that 🤙🏼
Is your car AWD? Like your channel. Who else would go to Yosemite with a point and shoot. Recently shot my first roll of film with a Olympus XA and have a Nikon L35 AF on order.
Hey! I recently bought a Portra800 to use with my big mini, can you tell me if it is okay because according to the manual, if the film is not a DX it will set the ISO on 25. Hope you can help me and love what you doing man!
I got this camera about 2 months ago and I've struggled a bit shooting with it, but your pictures look amazing! Inspired me to try again with this camera.
I have Konica big mini BM-301 and A4 cameras. everything is working properly. Do you know any precautions I should take to avoid having the flex cable problem? Thank you.
The shutter button on the BM-201 version gets a bit fiddly with age. Mine is the same, gotta wait for the green LED to focus, red LED usually tells you the flash will fire too. BM-301 is a bit faster, less noisy, better LED placement in the viewfinder. However I the square lens of the BM-201 is the far better design choice!
Do you know the difference (if any) between this version and the two models with the circular lens that pops out instead of the square shape of this one? The main one you have, the BM-201 versus the BM-301 and BM-302?
I’m also purchase Konica Big Mini few weeks ago and same as yours the monitor at the back is broken 😁 Looking forward for the review for this Little fella ☺️
My big mini doesn’t have a lcd screen behind. The counter is on top (lcd). The battery on mine doesn’t hold that long (maybe 4-5 rolls). What about yours ? November (might be october?) and the Xmas tree is already set: dude you are def a pinoy hahaha.
Has anybody else noticed it’s pretty much impossible right now to find 35mm color film for what it normally goes for? I can’t find any color 35mm and when I do they want like $45 for a 3 pack it’s crazy
I know this comment is 3 months old, but I just got my first 35mm SLR and it’s making it hard to get started as a beginner 😭 I need to practice and don’t want to waste money expensive rolls! Just want some cheap stuff to get out shooting and get the hang of things:/ Luckily the shop I got my camera at gave me two expired rolls to practice on for free, but I shot through them so fast
@@DinosourousRexx yeah I’ve been able to find rolls here and there and rarely use my camera since it’s hard to find and expensive, I have been able to find some 3 packs of fujifilm 400 at Walmart every now and then so I usually buy it when I see it. But I feel the pain, film is beautiful but you have to be careful in the shots you take!
@@torideville3177 Good advice! Hopefully the supply chain issues will start easing in the future and nabbing film at the normal price won’t be so difficult 🤞🏽
I'm glad about the school rebellion in San Francisco. I was born up there in Oakland I love Yosemity. There is a trick for getting into twollomy medows. Just tell them your going to saddlebag lake. They have to let you in
That lady with the painting set really be out there on THE REGULAR! I've seen her at least 3-4 times out of my 10-12 visits.
Big Mini + KJ = kickass!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Did you just....put chains on your rear tires on a front wheel drive car?
🤣
It happens
Better safe than sorry !
I came to comments looking for this :D

Hometown cha-cha-cha's OST in the background tho

The photos look like they were digitally processed with Lightroom or something afterwords so its tough to know what the camera is made of.

Masterpiece
Chains should go on the wheels driven by the engine. On the front for FWD and on the back for RWD. Small sedans are FWD.
My face was hurting when he put the chains on like that

I also have a big mini - has the same issue with shooting. A noisy camera.
Stunning landscapes.
Great photos man, can't believe you found a working big mini!
Just got a Konica big mini today, popped a film in and away on my city missions with the wee one , great video, its amazing how the phone camera goes to the wayside once you start shooting film again, but always gotta get one for the gram!
Awesome vid. If you use them in the future, chains should go on the front wheels on your fwd car
+1 on this. He hasnt used them before so he gets a pass, but yes chains always go on the drive tires.
Got it, thanks boss!!!
Kopiko for the win! Beautiful shots as always!
Great video man. Are you using infinity mode and or exposure compensation when shooting these images?
beautiful shots not only on film, but also video! appreciate that
I loved my used Konica BigMini then it fell apart.
Have looked for a decent and working used model for years.
A fun camera!
Is it possible to leave the flash off? Or do I gotta turn it off everytime I turn the camera on?
Broooooo the colors!!! Amazing
Yosemite is absolutely beautiful and the Big Mini captures the beauty very well !
what a soothing video!
Great photos! I’ve been looking for a cheap film point and shoot lately. Might have to check one of these out.

Great photos, love the design of the Big Mini!

Trying to get back to some film photography. Well done.

Hi @KingJvpes do you edit the photos that you show on is it just as it is from development.
what is up with the highlights, is that the film stock or post editing?
Previously owned this little camera. Great quality lens, but the camera is seriously one of the loudest in the market and drove me nuts.
Haha is that Romantic Sunday I hear from Hometown cha-cha-cha?
Thats a very handsome camera bag
This is really cool camera. I have one for long time. Waiting when the prices will start rising for Big Mini.
It looks like a contax, can totally see it skyrocketing in value in the future
Kopiko Blanca Gang! 😁
Kopiko in Yosemite! 😍❤️
beautiful pics!
Beautiful shots!!! Hope you will have some for sale!!
But man, you know you shouldn't use chains on clear asphalt road. It can damage wheels... you should store chains in trunk and use when needed.
Beautiful photos!
9:54 was the coolest photo
Kopiko! I love that man.. 😁
I got the same flannel my guy lol I usually wear that when I go out shooting, it caught me off guard when I saw it
Proud for kopiko that from Indonesia bro

Yo kopiko!!!
Sharpness compared to L35AF?
From having shot both, I would say very comparable but the big mini is super sharp for close ups of 0.35m to 0.6m
