    The 38’s look clean and cool on 20’s. I like the zero offset as the tires won’t stick out too far despite being 13.50’s. I’m not crazy about lifted trucks (I prefer leveling kits) but this one came out really nice - not too high up there. 👍

      There should be a balance when making choices and decisions regarding larger tires, suspension upgrades, particularly the amount of lift (increased height) and the "center of gravity". The higher the center of gravity makes the vehicle more susceptible to "pitch and or roll" while driving on uneven terrain off-road. The possibility of pitch or roll increases if the vehicle is being driven in mud, snow or lose sand.

    Question, I’m looking at a new super duty as my 01 was stolen and stripped a few months ago , looking at the tremor package but lots of people saying how rough the ride is, would it be more practical to buy ultimate lariat and have this after market lift installed? I love the stance of the tremor and after driving a 01 crew cab long bed on 37s with a 6 ish lift I’m over the rough ride, will be family truck with towing boat or trailer and vacation ride up to big bear etc. my daily is a transit 250 diesel plumbing van so like I said mainly family truck for wife and kids. Also at 80k for the truck it will see very little/none serious off-road , def no rock climbing , maybe some mellow trails,snow etc also 35s are max like I said the tremor is great height just worried about rough ride. Thanks guys

    • @CJCOffRoad

      The issue is the rear coils on the 2500. Getting that extra height doesn't add any travel, and would take away from the strength and ride quality. On the Fords there's actual gains from the additional height!

    Can you do a video comparing Carli suspension to Kelderman
    The shop im going to use for my tremor said kelderman rode better and was easier to get in and out of

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  2 года назад +2

      Sadly we can't, but we can summarize the differences. Kelderman makes a great show system that is well engineered and offers height adjustment. They ride fantastic on road, and tow well. The catch is that they offer very little suspension travel, and have poor ride quality off road. Carli by contrast makes a suspension system that more than doubles factory suspension travel, rides nicely on the road, tows well, and offers incredible off road performance. Carli does lack the novelty of height adjustment though! If off road capability is a priority for you, the choice is Carli. If height adjustment is more important than suspension travel and off road capability, then do kelderman! They make a great system for its intended purpose!

      The Class 2 and Class 3 GM 4WD trucks, both Chevrolet 2500 / 3500 SRW and GMC 2500 / 3500 SRW trucks are simply not very off-road capable compared to Ford F250 / F350 SRW 4WD and Dodge (Ram) 2500 / 3500 SRW 4WD trucks. Why? General Motors 4Wd trucks have the following inferior off-road capabilities and qualities: 1. IFS axles have poor axle articulation / wheel travel compared to Solid Front Axles; 2. Poor Approach Angle; 3. Poor Departure Angle; 4. Poor Breakover Angle - due to low hanging frame rails; 5. Poor Wheel Well Design - inhibits the balance between larger tires and good low center of gravity...trucks have to be lifted high for nominal increase in tire size. GM 4WD trucks need 4 inch lift for 35 inch tires while Ford 4WD trucks can run 37 inch tires with a level suspension. Simply put, for the reasons listed above, Chevrolet and GMC engineers do not design their trucks for great off-road capability or for improving off-road capability with aftermarket upgrades. The basic foundational design of the GM 4WD trucks are not a good starting point for aftermarket upgrades. Honestly, I do not know why anyone would purchase a GM 4WD truck.

      @@15Jeep I will say I think not being able to see why ANYONE would buy a 4 wheel drive GM seems a little narrow minded to me. I mean no offense but I think your looking at it from a more Extreme off-roading perspective. The majority of 4x4 trucks “especially heavy duty’s” will never see more than some dirt roads or bad weather. And for basic level off-roading I can’t think of a single 4x4 on the market that’s not up to the task. Now building a truck for rock climbing, sand dunes, or mudding? Yeah the newer chevys are definitely not in the truck for the job

    • @15Jeep
      @15Jeep 2 года назад

      @@toofastnobrakes Yep, lots of people lift GM 4WD trucks. CJC Off-Road offers Cognito suspension lift systems for Chevrolet and GMC trucks, but these trucks simply are not nearly as off-road capable, mainly because of the reasons I outlined in the previous post. Therefore, the GM 4WD trucks are not as camera / video worthy to them and all the guys who know...potential customers. CJC Off-Road sells a lot of Carli systems and Carli does not make suspension systems for the inferior GM 4WD trucks.

    • @15Jeep
      @15Jeep 2 года назад

      @@toofastnobrakes I completely agree with your comments. I should have been a little more specific. Yes, any 4WD truck will work on level terrain, except maybe in deep mud. The 4WD trucks with Solid Front Axles perform better than the 4WD trucks with IFS Axles.....in deep mud and also on hilly uneven ground found in several states.
      In the rural areas of the Midwest and Rocky Mountain states I see more Ford and Dodge (Ram) Class 2 and Class 3 4WD trucks. The Ford Super Duty and Dodge (Ram) Heavy Duty trucks are more off-road capable than Chevrolet and GMC trucks.
      Regarding Class 1 4WD trucks...not a huge difference since all of these trucks have IFS axles. Although I prefer Ford trucks in general, I have owned Chevrolet and GMC 4WD trucks...the older ones with solid front axles. I will say, on the modern Class 1 4WD trucks, I would not kick a Chevrolet 1500 4WD Jackal to the curb. I would own and drive a 1967 - 1972 Chevrolet K20 / K30 4WD or GMC K25 / K35 4WD......older "Action Line" truck. But, it would be expensive to have one in a custom built crew cab because GM never rolled those trucks off the assembly line in crew cab configuration.
      I am not sure if RTech Fabrications in Idaho still sells 4 Door Crew Cabs for Action Line truck.$15,000.00 (2015 price). RTech offers modern options like 4 link coil suspension, infotainment systems, modern LS engines, 5.9L Cummins 12V and 24 V diesel engines, or original small block and big block engines.
      The Cowboy is a 1970 Chevrolet K30 Crew Cab 4WD pickup. Note it is missing the Blue Bowtie on the front of the hood.
      rtechfabrications.com/trucks/the-cowboy/
      The Duke is a 1972 Chevrolet K50 Crew Cab 4WD pickup. Note the custom work on the fender flares...front being an altered original, front flare cut high on both ends, and cut off step connected to the rear portion of the front flare, along with matching custom fabricated rear fender flare on the pickup box. This truck also has infotainment system.

    Do these tires rub?

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension 2 года назад

      The 0 offset helps mitigate the rub. Haven't taken this truck in the dirt and only got some rub when turned and entering off-camber driveways. Trimming will be VERY minimal.

    Let me guess, these trucks will never see any serious dirt, maybe not even gravel.
    As much as I like my new truck my favorite is still my fully built 2000 super duty prerunner. Now that truck has been to hell and back and is still going strong.

    • @15Jeep

      You're right, many urban city dwellers will never take their high dollar new 4WD trucks off of the the pavement and the few trucks that do only traverse over easy terrain...gravel roads and dirt roads with a mud puddle here and there. On the other hand, there are several rural country truck owners who consistently use their 4WD trucks off-road, in mud, snow and lose sand. People who live in the city mostly see expensive clean 4WD trucks and Jeeps driving on paved streets and roads. Come to small town and rural areas in the Rocky Mountain area and you will see lots of expensive filthy dirty trucks.

    Why is there never any actual video of someone using a Super Duty with a Carli lift off road?

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension 2 года назад

      Because CJC Offroad is doing videos of customer vehicles; these customers would not likely be thrilled at CJC bombing their trucks.

      Fun fact: the XL and Platimum trucks use the same suspension, so the changes we made don't undo anything related to the trim package! The Tremor basically uses 17-18 F-350 suspension!

    It’s funny how all that talking on a heavy truck that’s only good for some trails it doesn’t tell you how much it cost. They want you to go check it out and get that sticker shock. That whole set up is almost the price of a basic F-250.
