Me too, when I have no motivation to get the dishes done I watch these until they show they kitchen then it triggers me to start cleaning the whole house 🤣
What a lovely man. Hope he doesn't get all lonely and messy again after everyone leaves. He should employ a cleaner. Too much for one aging man to upkeep. They did a great job. 👍
You can tell this man loves his family so much and how proud he is of all of them. He was the most kind of hoarders that have appeared on the show. I hope he is doing well.
Seeing his big family come together, enjoying a meal with all the kiddies running around was such a beautiful thing to see! Precious memories everyone will forever remember!
Ive watched so many of these videos, and Michael is the oldest home owner Ive seen so far, and he made the most progress with cleaning and parting with his possessions. Goes to show you are never too old to change for the better.
You can't help but like Michael he is such a sweet guy and he loves his family and when he laughs his face beams. You could just hug him bless him. I wish him the best with his family and now they can go anytime to visit him and stay over now the clutter and collectables are de-cluttered. The reunion at the end was heart warming to see. Michael now knows its for the best that he keeps the house tidier as his family can stay over. I do wish him all for the best and his large family too.
Wow! He's finally admitted he's a hoarder. He surprised me when he wanted 95% of the things gone! He probably realised his castle looked better without all the stuff! 😆 This is the best show for cleaning motivation ever! 😃😃😃 I realised my apartment isn't that bad!!
Am amazed his daughter stated they tried to help him in many occasions but without success. He just needed a psychologist to control his hoarding and decide what's best for his family. Had he done this, the family reunion in the manor would take place years ago, and he'd have many more happy memories with his family in the house he bought for them all. And obviously he'd never been run out of helping hands with 20 grandchildren 🤣
I want to hang out with Michael on a balmy Irish Summers eve, sipping tea and listening to the birds while he talks about whatever the fuck he wants because what a divine chap
I'll watch this a bit later. It's currently 5 am Saturday here in Australia and I want to shower and eat breakfast first. I've been binge watching these videos! 😃 You posted this at 1 am!
The cleaning at the beginning was distressing. Then Richard was look at Michael´s family pictures, and talking with Michael of they´s ice gone broken, Michael be touched. Process advance lot better. He confessed, i am a hoarder. He love so much him family. I hope all the best to Michael. Great episode. I had to start cleaning my home.
This is the BEST episode I have watched so far ! The cleaners are the most lovely people, what they did was amazing beyond words And Michaels family were just gorgeous 💕
The rooms they have done look gorgeous. It is a wonderful house. he just needs more help but that usually requires more money., He could certainly sell a lot of things for a start which would cost nothing and cleaning costs nothing if done by yourself.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to be a compulsive order freak, having everything in order the way Richard does; I like all the jars facing the right way, the wires not showing and can't rest until it's put right. This guy needs somebody to come in on a regular basis to help him keep his house clutter free.
My thoughts too, however, he is a very fussy man and his definition of 'logic' seems so contradictory. He wants help cleaning and sorting but doesn't want to have anything cleaned or sorted. I'm sure you can imagine how he reacts to his family, especially when he snapped at Rich and Gemma about the mouldy mattress. I don't think he knows what he wants tbh?? Incredibly awkward and uncomfortable with himself. Just a quick, fleeting observation and opinion 🤔 very perplexed 😂
Gemma could save a fortune by using white vinegar for everything, it’s fantastic for cleaning and is antibacterial, it can be bought cheaply in 5 litre bottles, and with bicarbonate of soda, which you can get in massive tubs, poured down the sinks and toilets, followed by the vinegar, keeps everything clean and fresh.
Wouldn’t it be lovely if all of his family pitched in to scrub the home from top to bottom. I’m sure it’d be nice to live there once it’s all cleaned and he has enough room for some family to help maintain it. I hate to see these homes so empty with just the caretakers. Wouldn’t that make for a beautiful Christmas with family? If no one can live there, wouldn’t it make a lovely holiday home for his family to visit at different times of the year and while there they can make memories and help out?
Before playing Resident Evil I would have loved to live in and clean that mansion. Now I just vision the scene in the game in which the player's hacked to death by crows. Just not my thing. I better get back to cleaning the home I have.
They mentioned they tried for years and eventually gave up , i guess a tv show and cameramen did just put enough pressure on him to accept the help he clearly desperately needed . I hope he can manage to keep it up and now accept help from his family to continue restoring that beautiful castle
That's what I thought too at first, but some people only give in under some sort of pressure. It's probably harder to say no to two strangers and a filming crew taking over your house. The elderly are quite stubborn, times were rough when they were little and objects mean a lot to them, especially if they have something to do with the family. I just hope his kids will now come and help out with the cleaning, once the difficult part was done.
Every time I watch one of these I think of all of those cleaning products going down the drain into our water courses and the overload of toxins in our environment in general
It is always sad to see, when the inability to let go of clutter keeps family away from someone. The man seems like a nice guy, but there is something he should seek therapeutical help for so that he can have more time IN his beloved home with his family. I am just 7 minutes in, but i already hope, that he can see, that the house would be much more wonderful and still with a lot of character when cleaned. What is all "character" if nobody comes to enjoy it?
i had/have OCD for cleaning and dirt, over the years i have found my balance and also found that I dont get the cold viral & bacterial infections as much. There is a heathy balance.
I despise people who use antibacterial wipes for every day cleaning. Imagine the plastic waste that woman produces annually just from these wipes?? if you want to be obsessed with cleaning, use paper towel and refillable antibacterial cleaning spray, but not single use wipes.. every single wipe this woman uses will take around 100 years to fully degrade. why not to use paper instead that degrades in less than a month.
My Dad was a hoarder. I tried constantly to help him to clean up but he wouldn’t let me touch anything. I had to wait until he was in hospital to clean the place. It’s not that simple when somebody has an entrenched mental illness. Sometimes you have to back off to save the relationship.
One thing i think the OCD cleaners need to understand is that hoarders have a form of OCD as well. Also I don’t understand how if the cleaners OCD is that bad as we are seeing how can they go in the dirty houses. I’ve had a phobia of birds since I was a kid and there is no way on earth that anyone could get me to touch a bird! I know this for a fact because people have tried. I was in a phone box years ago and daughter was outside in her pram. She was a couple of months old anyway an old lady started feeding the birds outside the phone box. I froze there was no way I could come out of it not even for my child. I must stress she was fine, fast asleep in her pram but the fact that I couldn’t come out made me feel like such a bad mum. I’m not saying My phobia is worse I just don’t understand how they can do it.
Hey to all of those who are addicted to cleaning chemichals etc etc... this man is fantastic... simply because he now has a super immune system... a bit like me ... yes some of us are like steptoe and son but.... i bet ...people like us can survive a war with eas..lol lol lol
And by the way... why are they throwing away the rotten food??? It's great fertiliser for the garden lol... thise ocd folk havent got a clue.. hey i had diagnosed OCD years ago... and guess what cured me ?..... doing all the things that i feared...
4:10 Yes that voice in the head has had many names. Spiritual teachers call it the monkey you should smilingly ignore. Psychiatrists call it mental illness of varying types. Religious would probably call it the devil which should be exorcised. Those with OCD are people who are in total lack of self control. Sort of similar with the hoarders seen here if you think about it that way. I'm sure we've all noticed tendencies for OCD to develop through our younger years, but were able to keep them in check realizing the ridiculousness of it. It's the exact same thing, but these sorry buggers lacked any self awareness at the crucial moments in their lives. It all derives from attachment rather than detachment. The old man is attached even to cobwebs. The clean freaks are attached to their fears, which are false emotions.
Wish someone could come clean for me. These rich people can afford to pay for help. If not sell. That may sound cold. I am disabled and have to do all for myself.... Oh well
I see why you’re upset , and when you see some of the episodes where middle aged/ younger people are living in their filth castle i get angry aswell . But these older people can’t just sell their house right ? Where should they go ? Start completely over in a appartement and leave their familiar safe environment or give up all their independence and go to a retirement home ? Come on you can’t expect that from them . They lived and worked a entire life to be comfortable and enjoy the last years
I immediately start to clean my house after watching any of these episodes.
Yupsssssss, so am i !! 😂😂😂
Same! These are great motivation! 😃
Omg same 🤣
Me too, when I have no motivation to get the dishes done I watch these until they show they kitchen then it triggers me to start cleaning the whole house 🤣
@@sullyandmike188 Same. It's great motivation for cleaning and I also realise my place isn't as bad as these people's!
What a lovely man. Hope he doesn't get all lonely and messy again after everyone leaves. He should employ a cleaner. Too much for one aging man to upkeep. They did a great job. 👍
@Carol, great idea to get a cleaner, what a lovely house and family
I am am I I

Michael is an absolute gentleman. Lovely to see him so happy with his grandchildren.
I just broke when I saw him crying ! God bless this man!
I would love to spend a day with michael and just admire all the history in everything he has collected of time.

You can see that Michael is such a good person and lovely man. He deserves the best!
Seeing his big family come together, enjoying a meal with all the kiddies running around was such a beautiful thing to see! Precious memories everyone will forever remember!

Yep you got it ♡
What a beautiful man. What a beautiful family. Loved Richard and Gemma they were so kind & such characters.
Wow! He's finally admitted he's a hoarder. He surprised me when he wanted 95% of the things gone! He probably realised his castle looked better without all the stuff! 😆
This is the best show for cleaning motivation ever! 😃😃😃 I realised my apartment isn't that bad!!
‘If he wants that I’m going to take my own life’ 🤣🤣🤣 best one liner ever
Totally!!😄👍😀
🤣🤣🤣🤣😬😬😬
The end result was amazing, it was an emotional reunion, I'm so happy for Richard and that he saw a different way to keep his house.
Such a sweetheart,glad he got a new house and a new mindset😀❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Am amazed his daughter stated they tried to help him in many occasions but without success. He just needed a psychologist to control his hoarding and decide what's best for his family. He wants to keep the cobwebs 🤣 I've hurd everything now lol
I want to hang out with Michael on a balmy Irish Summers eve, sipping tea and listening to the birds while he talks about whatever the fuck he wants because what a divine chap
38:15 idk but this moment is so precious, its the “love of the grandparents” for me 🥺❤️
The toilet looks ok compared to the outback outhouse I’ve used
I'll watch this a bit later. It's currently 5 am Saturday here in Australia and I want to shower and eat breakfast first. I've been binge watching these videos! 😃 You posted this at 1 am!
Michael is such a gentleman.
Thanks for this.... I'm literally give me a will to clean and I'm decluttering this time while watching

I love the part when a tear came to his eye when he was looking at the family photo on the wall.
Adorable granpa 💛💛
Depois do episódio eu fico limpando e caçando coisas pra jogar fora, minimalismo e limpeza e maravilhoso
I am so happy for Michel he is very good than other owner thank you for clean service 😊
Love love this episode cleaning the animals!!No way can you get rid of any!!
Lol I just love this their reaction to the dead birds
He has such a big family, yet none of it decided to help out with the cleaning... This is very sad.
Exactly
My thoughts too, however, he is a very fussy man and his definition of 'logic' seems so contradictory. He wants help cleaning and sorting but doesn't want to have anything cleaned or sorted. These are great episodes, a real eye opener to see how other people live😊🌺
The mattress could have been lent against the wall inside
Keep the 🕸 cobwebs? 😱😱😱🕷🕸 Oh no!!!
I have a different phobia. But yes, there was sooo much cobwebs!!
Who knew a cobweb is a decoration. Wow.
I loved, loved this episode. Richard is a riot 😂
.
Wonderful man, i adore him!
Made me cry when his family arrived
such a lovely man and family ❤
Those people were so disrespectful to the taxidermist. It's pathetic the way they acted, especially after they left. Grow the fuck up..

Lovely special episode!
How does he manage to keep his shirts and suits clean in all this mess ?
Before playing Resident Evil I would have loved to live in and clean that mansion. Now I just vision the scene in the game in which the player's hacked to death by crows. Just not my thing. I better get back to cleaning the home I have.
Stoat?!?! Blood pine Martin!
Sweet grandfather ♡
I could not understand, he has his own family and yet they didn't try to help him clean his house.
So very lovely, 🤗😊👍💗
His daughter and family arent helping letting the house go to pot like this
Sis said NAH I AINT CHANGING!💀😂♥️
When you see all his family coming round in the end, I just wondered...couldn't they pull their weight to help clean the house ???
They mentioned they tried for years and eventually gave up , i guess a tv show and cameramen did just put enough pressure on him to accept the help he clearly desperately needed . I hope he can manage to keep it up and now accept help from his family to continue restoring that beautiful castle

Lol, this is the first episode I have seen where anybody managed to stay over!
I’m not even OCD but I would have rather slept on a clean mattress and bedding.
I’m surprised they didn’t clean the out house on the first night personally I would feel right at home there

24:42 Just open the windows for these poor birds!
2 people did that in a week imagine if his huge family helped it would be a palace

its why these ppl never gets sick. because they are use to live in this dirt.
Maybe. But so much dirt. Average clean house is better to us. we get better immune system.

How about the family start helping out when they stay over. There is enough of them.
he's just using this place as a big shed.
Did I just see a sculpture of the most valued , precious and important bird in my country? Crested crane🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
Well done 👏
I liked it better when it weren't these big mansions
Same
These episodes have turned me into a Germaphobe,I clean everyday now😂😂😂🤣😂
The daughter didn't thank the two cleaners. How ungrateful!
When he took out back the hat my jaw dropped
This place is quite tidy compared to some of the other places but it is a bit dirty.
17:10
probably just pining for the fjords!😏
Hey to all of those who are addicted to cleaning chemichals etc etc... this man is fantastic... simply because he now has a super immune system... a bit like me ... yes some of us are like steptoe and son but.... i bet ...people like us can survive a war with eas..lol lol lol
I cringe as he open the door of the out toilet thank God it wasnt a ancient pit toilet...😰🤠
This man feds himself out of the rats and the pigeons that land on his messy garbage
That pink hat was worn by Queen Elizabeth.
And by the way... why are they throwing away the rotten food???
It's great fertiliser for the garden lol... thise ocd folk havent got a clue.. hey i had diagnosed OCD years ago... and guess what cured me ?..... doing all the things that i feared...

Yes Gemma, you have an issue. Actually more than one
it would be better and more productive if these owners were hypnotised to treat their compulsive hoarding before the show even begins
Do they get any psychological help at all, I wonder? Unless they do, then I think this was all in vain because they could start over.
Bless
Was a bit rude to just throw the mattress outside, they could of just put them somewhere else.
lovely accent
Wish someone could come clean for me.
These rich people can afford to pay for help.
If not sell.
That may sound cold.
I am disabled and have to do all for myself....
Oh well
