- Sometimes you see a sneaker you just NEED (Don't take that too literally). I knew these were overpriced but I copped because they're one of my favorite new balance sneaker releases of 2023. Here's an unboxing and review of these beautiful made in USA new balance which are part of a limited edition collection and a brand new retro running model. Comfortable? Very! Dope summertime color way? Yup! Expensive and overpriced? Yessir! I featured a lot of affordable and cheap options under $100 but these NB's were a must so I broke my sneaker buying rules and bought them. Hype isn't too crazy so they likely won't be reselling. It’s all about the limestone/magentas 🔥 the amethyst pair is a definite miss for me. It’s difficult for me to rock purple so when I see something which really works, I’m about it

All the USA inhabitants are still lucky, the 990v6 in EU retails at 250 euros. At the time of placing this post that equals to 274 US dollars.

100% feel you on the “paying too much”. I was eyeing the classic grey 993’s about a month ago for $200; recently checked and now they are $225….that extra $25 😅

Definitely a very fire colorway. I copped them for myself and am currently awaiting their delivery. With current inflation and the fact that the V6 uses both Encap AND Fuelcell in the midsole justifies the $200 retail for the core colorways. I feel like a $10 upcharge would've been more appropriate for the Teddy Pairs. $220 is definitely pricey. Doesn't help that it will probably go on sale in boutiques months later. But I'm definitely with you with having to have these! Too fire not to have in the summer season!

Don’t get me wrong Limestone with magenta 990V6 but I couldn’t do it for 220! with that said, the 990V6 is absolutely one of my favorite shoes! It’s my go to!
I have the baklava as well as a regular gray GR but those 990V3 raw amethyst are absolutely fire!! I still need to get a pair of those for sure!!

I’m with you on the price hike, but I don’t think it has anything to do with the colorway. I bought my all grey 993s off NBs website a year ago for $185, today if I wanted to grab another pair it would run me $225! They’re just increasing prices on some of the made in USA models I think.

I went true to size for a little extra room and I don’t regret it. You could def go a half size down if you don’t have a wide foot

These are so fire. I have to cool my jets on picking up so many NBs recently, but the 990v6 is so darn cool. Love this colorway. I have a feeling the price might rise on these too, so don't feel too bad about what you paid lol

I just paid too much on some KSWISS last week. Carrots SI-18 international. I think like 160 after taxes and all. Lol. I felt I paid a bit much when I did. I got the shoes.... had a 19.99 sale tag on em 😂
I knew the shoe went on mega clearance ages ago unfortunately I wasn't in any region that had on em sale and they didn't online. I have been collecting all of the SI-18 international collabs to catch em all so to speak. Only missing Ghostbusters.
I’ve had that happen before! Different brand though. Especially when it’s an outlet shoe with no lid haha. Crazy to think about but at that point you’re valuing the shoe yourself.

Because of limited availability here and the majority of 990's have pig skin, I managed to buy two pairs of v4 for each 100USD. (Like new)
Amethysts are a must have but these v6’s are a statement piece

The 996 is a stability shoe for people who pronate (ankle rolls inward) which is why it has the big plastic piece on the medial side and why it costs more (in general compared to others).

I went CRAZY on Joes New Balance Outlet on Rainiers about a month ago. They had them all for like $50. I bought 4 pairs missed those ALDs though.

I don't know why i just don't like the v6. I prefer the sleek look of the v3, and yes, something about that over $200 proce on sneakers makes me feel like I'm losing too. Nice pick up Eddie. If that v6 same colorway was a v3, I would've been all over them.
You aren’t alone on the v6! It’s a bulky sneaker, not everyone gets down with that. Tbh, I wasn’t immediately sold on it but now with some color it’s completely different
Sometimes, you've just got to spend that little bit extra to get what you want. As long as it's not every time and your budget is what you can afford, go for it.
Just grabbed the Nmd S1 Philllthy for the most I've ever spent on a single pair and they're worth it.

tbh that's the only colorway you'll need from the new saison pack, so it's ok to spend a little more ;). The Amethyst is still fire, I really like that one

I agree with the price hike but I think Teddy has been doing his thing. I have a green pair he did which I love. Both pair you have are great. That season 1 amethyst with the quarter zip you’re rocking would be money

They certainly aren’t for everyone but once you appreciate the brand and find a place for their style within your outfits they become a staple. For me at least
